Lionel Ritchie - Back to Front

Advantages: 16 Great racks - Ballards and Pop
Disadvantages: None

...the title but once the intorduction is heard you will be singing along. I do find that the chorus does repeat itself quite a few too many times in the song which I am not too keen onbut a great song. 3 - Love, Oh Love - This track runs for 5.47 and was produced by Stewart Levine. I must confess that I had not heard this song before buying the CD but it is a plesant ballard to listen to. I have to say that this is not one of his better songs. 4 - All Night Long - This track runs for 4.16 minutes and was produced by Lionel Ritchie and James Anthony Carmicheal. The track is maybe one of his best known songs and the unbeat tempo makies for great easy listening. This song never fails to put a smile on my face. 5 - Easy - This song runs for 4.15 minutes and was produced by James Anthony Carmichael and The Commodores. This ha to be one...

FREE DVDs

Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review

...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them. ∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊ Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Lionel Richie Is A Classic

Advantages: All The Classics On One Album
Disadvantages: None That I Have Found

...This has to be one of the best albums in my cd collection. I was bought this for my 18th Birthday. A lot of my friends laughed at me when I received this and I thought the same as my mum and dad were the ones who love Lionel Richie. I played it a few times and before I knew it, I knew every word to every song. This is a song for every occasion. There isn't a moment that you can't listen to it. There is a song for every emotion. I've listened to this album that many times and I'm not bored with it at all. Track Listing & Ratings: 1. Do It To Me 9/10 2. My Destiny 8/10 3. Love Oh Love 9/10 4. All Night Long 10/10 5. Easy 10/10 6. Still 9/10 7. Endless Love - Richie, Lionel & Diana Ross 10/10 8. Running With The Night 10/10 9. Dancing On The Ceiling 10/10 10. Sail On 9/10 11. Hello 10/10 12. Truly 10/10 13. Review of Back To Front - Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie Back to front

Advantages: Great lyrics, and great memorable songs
Disadvantages: None

...Despite only being 16 years of age, I am a massive Lionel Richie fan. I first bought this CD a few years ago for my dad, but since listening to it have become a bigger fan than he is. I am not at all embarrassed to admit that this is one of my favourite albums, and that Lionel is a musical Genius. After all, with such great songs, who could disagree? There are many all time classics on this CD : 1 Do It to Me (6:04) 2 My Destiny (4:49) 3 Love, Oh Love (5:48) 4 All Night Long (All Night) (4:19) 5 Easy (4:17) 6 Still (3:46) 7 Endless Love (4:28) 8 Running With the Night (4:09) 9 Dancing on the Ceiling (4:22) 10 Sail On (4:00) 11 Hello (4:09) 12 Truly (3:21) 13 Penny Lover (3:47) 14 Stuck on You (3:10) 15 Say You, Say Me (4...

More More Mr's Barrymore

Advantages: good cast, good transfer
Disadvantages: not too original, only a trailer as an extra

...A geeky girl with a less than glorious past experience of school get's a second chance to be cool and above all else popular. Sounds familiar? Well that's essentially what Never Been Kissed is, nothing more, nothing less. However that doesn't mean it's a terrible film. Josie Geller (Drew Barrymore) is the youngest copy editor at a big city newspaper. She's not really taken seriously and her personal life is a disaster. She's never been kissed so the chances of anything beyond that are remote! But Josie lands an assignment as a reporter and her job is to get the scoop on what goes on inside high school. Josie is terrified as she was a geek in school but now she tries to be cool but it doesn't really work. That is until her cooler brother Rob (David Arquette) gets in on the act and makes her popular. Can Josie pull it off and what does...

Drew Barrymore At Her Best!

Advantages: a real life adaptation, excellent acting
Disadvantages: none

...shows this. Beverly is played by Drew Barrymore who I feel plays this part impeccably, the way she portrays Beverly's determination and drive helps us to believe as a viewer that we all can achieve our goals if we really strive for them. This film really touched my heart strings as it showed that once you put your mind to anything you can achieve it and I really enjoyed the way it was shown over a twenty year period rather than rushing the story, Penny Marshall took the time to show most of the aspects of Beverly growing up with her young son. The film was made in 2001 and as I said before was directed by Penny Marshall and produced by Morgan Ward. The running time is 132 minutes and it is a PG certificate. There are no extras to this DVD as I am reviewing the DVD only. I purchased this film from Music Zone for the bargain...

Review of Riding In Cars With Boys (DVD)

Riding with Drew Barrymore

Advantages: The story itself
Disadvantages: Adam Garcia's somewhat wooden performance

...the book that Beverly has written. This film has all the makings of a romantic comedy gone wrong, but the powerhouse performances are enough to take it up to another level. The fact that its based on a true story is neither here nor there, as it is a tale that is often whimsical, sometimes funny, and mostly heartbreaking. Drew Barrymore proves her acting chops here as Beverly, shifting with ease between vulnerable and gutsy, and she is completely believable in every era - given that her character ranges between 14 and 35. Steve Zahn is instantly loveable as the good for nothing Ray, who is full of promises but no wherewithall to see it through. James Woods is wonderful, but underused, as Beverly's disapproving policeman father. But perhaps the best lines go to Brittany Murphy, who is completely believable as the equally downtrodden...

Crammed full of amazing spectacles

Advantages: great photography and descriptions, varied content
Disadvantages: Some sections are in need of updating

...Lionel Grigson's 'Wonders of The World' takes a selective look at some of the most fascinating and impressive spectacles the world has to offer, both manmade and natural ones, with large and detailed pictures on each of its 250 odd pages, some of which contain supporting text and some of which are given over to images entirely. The book is given over to seven chapters, the first of which detail the seven wonders of the ancient world, namely the pyramids at Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Collossus of Rhodes, The Pharos at Alexandria, which was built as a beacon for ships in 270 BC during the reign of King Ptomely of Egypt, The Olympian Zeus statue in Greece, The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus in what is now the Turkish city of Bodrum, a vast tomb with marble columns and statues of horses...
