...Carmex Lip Balm I have started to use Carmex lipbalm on a friend's recommendation and I was surprised to see and feel how well it worked! I've always suffered of dried and cracky lips particularly in winter and even if I always was equipped with lip balms and spent quite some money on it as I preferred stuff like Labello, it never really had a long-term effect. Neutrogena wasn't all bad either, but I have to say Carmex was where the revolution in lip care has come. Package Carmex comes in a form of a lipstick, a little jar and a squeezable tube. The jars were introduced already back in 1937! All containers are in red+yellow and black which remind me of beeswax somehow. It gives impression of sth natural and good for your health. Excellent lip balm in a neat little pot

Advantages: Works well, convenient to carry
Disadvantages: None for me

I just cannot stand the sensation of my lips feeling dry and use the balms all year round to combat the dryness caused by the sun and wind. Mmm Yummy! Carmex Cherry Lip Balm

Advantages: Makes lips soft, lasts for a long time, SPF 15 and easy to find in your bag!
Disadvantages: Fortunately for Carmex I can't think of any...Perhaps not good if you don't like a light menthol?

...Carmex Cherry Lip Balm won't change your life, it won't make you stare at your other lip balms with disappointment and it will not give you a whole new face... ...I love this lip balm, it is by far the best I have tried, and I have bought loads of different ones over the years. I suffer from dry, cracked lips all year round and have found this product to be a life saver. Product Info Palmers Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Lip Balm is a lipstick sized tube lip balm that contains Vitamin E and Cocoa butter (known for their moisturising properties) and hence smells of chocolate. It contains an SPF 15 sun protection, and the claim on the back of the packet is that is will help prevent and temporarily protect chafed, chapped, cracked or windburned lips. As it has the SPF it also gives protection against sunburn which is brilliant as you don't need to worry about a separate sun protection for your lips in the summer. Honey, this lip balm is the bees knees!

Advantages: Leaves lips soft and moisturised, reasonable price

Review of Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm

It's not glue, it's lip balm!!

Advantages: Really does help.
Disadvantages: The packaging looks like a glue tube.

...After suffering with so called "stress" my lips swelled up, I looked like a more feminine version of Mick Jagger, it wasn't good, trust me. After numburous trips to the doctor who kept telling me to use vaseline, and not looking any better after 2 months I decided it was time to go out and look for some other product. I found this in a local Superdrug store, I don't know what possesed me to buy it. I think it was because it was the most expencive product of its kind and I was under the illusion of the more you pay the better it will be. At £2.25 it still wasnt bad for what I was getting though. Packaged in a funky, glue like tube and coloured red and yellow, wasn't a great idea. For weeks I had to tell people it wasn't infact glue I was applying to my lips it was infact lip balm. More than a lip balm

...a third of the tube over the past year. You really need only the tiniest bit on lips, or on any other dry and flaky area that needs a bit of tlc. Skin and lips will absorb as much as it needs so don't put too much - especially on lips - or your lips will feel 'greasy'. I also found that unlike other lip balms, my lips don't dry out and 'crave' more frequent application. I used it on my cheek after I had laser surgery and it helped to soothe the 'burn' and heal the scars. *A tip I got recently from a make-up artist is to apply a tiny bit to the eyelid - and leave as is for a natural look or mix with eyeshadow for staying power and a slightly glossy finish. I use it very sparingly and have had no problems with the product getting into my eyes....

Lush Lip Balm gives your lips a good Service

...Lush's Lip Service Balm definitely does it's job very well. It really does help make your lips feel soft and moisturised again. Although if your lips are very dry and cracked, it does take two or three times of applying the balm before it starts to get to work. This may sound strange for a lip balm, but I find that it's ease of use really depends on if it is warm weather or not. In warm weather the balm is very easy to get on to your finger and apply to your lips. But in colder weather the balm seems alot more harder and takes alot more time to apply. So the fact that this balm seems to need to "melt" in order for easy use isn't that great. A little tip though, I find holding the container in my hand for a while helps to melt the balm a little and makes it easier to apply. The lip balm I think is very good value for money. ...I bought the carmex lip balm pot some time ago as my lips were really chapped and sore. I was in a shop browsing the different lip balms available and decided to go for this one simply because it was the cheapest on offer. When applied to the lips it gives a slight tingling situation - some people might like this, others may well not. Positives: Instantly smoothes and soothes the lips. Helps to prevent dry flaking skin. Does not need constant reapplying. Lasts for ages - I've had the same small pot for over a year and it isn't even half used up even though I use it on a very regular basis. Negatives: Packaging not all that appealing so it can easily be passed over on a shelf in favour of more elaborately packaged products.
