Lips - My Verdict

Advantages: good all round fun and ideal for those drunken parties with friends and family
Disadvantages: the songs can become a bit repetitive

Especially over christmas with the guys and the gals over with a few cocktails and a lot of laughs. This is a really good product and a good competitor to its competitors. Karaoke comes to the Xbox 360 with Lips

Advantages: Good fun, great party game
Disadvantages: Could do with more tracks, mics can be tricky to synch, single player mode is a bit weak

...although it does give non-singers something to do whilst they are waiting for their turn. If you are connected to Xbox Live, you can compare how your scores match up to other users. This is good for getting an indication of how well you are actually performing. Unfortunately this is the only online aspect of the game. It would have been great to duet with people all over the world but alas, its not to be. Lips also allows you to sing songs from other music devices such as the iPod. ...First of all I must begin by saying how amazing this game is. I think if you love karaoke, or singing, then you will love it too. I enjoy singing along to the radio, would never dare sing in public, thats why this game is so perfect. You can experience singing karaoke without leaving your living room and being embarrased infront of lots of random people. Lips comes with two wireless microphones, which to the naked eye look plain and quite dull however the magic begins as soon as you sync them up to your 360. Advantages: Some good song, cool mics, cool to have if your not a PlayStation owner

...For those of us that have heard of the popular PlaySation series Singstar, you will probably be familiar with the new Xbox version, Lips. The game involves singing into microphones along with music and the pitch of your voice is scored as you do so. Well, Lips is like SingStar in that respect, but with a few extras. Lips is better than SingStar in some ways but worse in others. It is better because the microphones are a lot more fun; they are wireless and light up in time to the music. It is better because you can add effects such as delay and reverb to your voice and there is also a vocal reduction feature which works to an extent. You can also import your own music and sing a long to it with vocal reduction, but I wouldn't take notice of the scores as they are random. Ba Da Daaaaaaahhhhh! Ta-Dah! Lips is definitely the game for me!

Advantages: Great game, good price, batteries seem to last an age!
Disadvantages: Only half the songs I actually like.

...I purchased 'Lips' for £34.99 at a pre-owned price from Gamestation, the normal selling price is £39.99 for the two microphones, 4 aa batteries and the 'Lips' xbox 360 game. Once I opened the game I realised that it had never been opened before and that although I paid a pre-owned price, I wasn't getting a pre-owned game! You get two wireless microphones which have to be synced up to your Xbox 360 by pressing the search button on the front of the Xbox 360 and pressing the button on the bottom of each of the wireless microphones. To place the batteries inside you have to screw off the top of the microphone, left up a slot and just place the batteries inside, this was very easy to do and took a matter of seconds (always essential when you're desperate to try out your new game!). Once synced you are ready to begin playing the game...

...LIPS - only for XBOX 360 I got this product new at christmas time for my mum and little sister. Its just brilliant, you are able to use the wireless microphones anywhere you want within range and you can add new songs from XBOX LIVE or your mp3/ipod device. The quality is perfect and the multiplayer is brilliant for home use and (or) parties. We have had several big parties since christmas day and the response from everyone that has used it has been phenomenal. ...I've been meaning to try this product for a while and I knew that I would have to pay around £13 for it so I thought I'd wait until I next went on holiday so I could find it cheaper. Call me a meanie but £13 is WAY too expensive for this gal, even if we are talking about a Lancome product! My wish was granted when I saw a travel gift pack in the Duty Free shop at Gatwick airport. It was £25 but I got a mascara, a cool glittery eye shadow and yes, you guessed it, a Juicy Tube! I was so excited that I just had to open it as soon as I got on the plane!
