Persil washing up liquid: perfume for crockery

...Why, oh why, I ask myself, do good brand names play around with their products and end up making them worse, instead of better. It happened with Special K when they converted to bigger flakes instead of the tiny ones and the taste was ruined. Um! Sorry getting carried away on another topic. Well, what they have done to Persil washing up liquid is a similar thing. (No, they haven?t made it into flakes.) Something has happened to the formula. I used to use Persil for when I hand wash dishes but went over to Fairy. The other day I decided to go back because I spotted a beautifully, milky, pale green coloured aloe vera Persil liquid and I really quite fancied it. Anyway, I did my usual and just squirted the liquid into the wash up bowl, added hot water and started the job. There were a lot of bubbles for amount of the product I had used...

Foaming face wash

...I noticed, was that unlike most face washes I have used in the past, which have been either liquid or gel-like, when I dispensed some of this onto my hand, it actually looks like jelly! It's sort of clear a wobbly - a really strange consistency, and although I have been using the product for a while now, I still can't get used to it! The instructions state to apply it to damp skin, and as soon as you do this - rather than feeling like you're rubbing jelly on your face (as I suspected it might feel like - hold the suggestive comments please!) it's like velvet! Really smooth and silky and it has a very gentle smell, soapy and something about it reminds me of a baby smell - perhaps like talc? As the name suggests, this does foam up while on the skin, but not overly so - you will not be washing froth out of your ears for weeks after using it...

...Living above the family's grocery store, I don't normally need to nip out to buy things like this, but one week a few years ago while my Dad was having to keep spending on stock to a minimum, I ended up having to do so. Past choiches having been restrict to Fairy liquid, HAPPY SHOPPER own brand + "Squezy", and the Ecover stuff i covered in a previous review. I'd plonk this one as the 2nd best of these after Fairy.... Happy shopper 3rd, Squezy 4th & Ecover last. ...'s pretty weak, and the suds don't last as long as a proper washing-up liquid such as Fairy Liquid, and it smells REALLY bad. LOOKS While most washing-up liquids are usually green in colouration, or perhaps Yellow if it's a lemon scented one, this stuff I recall is either a clear or clear with a whitish tinge to it....... in other words it looks a bit like sperm. SMELL This is the worst part of it, which I can best describe as an extremely strong sulfur smell....... or perhaps similar to the not particularly delightful odour you may encounter while walking past a sewage farm. Dove Cream Wash Liquid Soap

...I brought Dove cream wash as it was on offer at Tesco. Never tried this product before as its always on advertisments and they tend to put me off. This product lasted by family (3 people) about 4-5 weeks. I didnt expect it to last that long but as you only need 1-2 squirts and still get a good amount of lather. I have really sensitive skin and have trouble finding the right soap for me but i had no trouble with this and even used it on my face. It left my face feeling soft and refreshed and didnt dry my skin out like other soaps did. It smells lovely on your skin and it doesnt cost much. I dont need to use any mostiriser on my face of hands now from using this. The Dove Cream Wash is gentle and effective and the bottle is a lovely shape which reflects the creaminess of the contents. ...Tesco Washing Up Liquid This is Tesco supermarkets own brand of dish washing liquid. It comes in a 375 ml plastic see through bottle with a red plastic flip cap. The bottle costs 68p and is available in a variety of different flavours including Lemon and Spring Apple. This is not to be confused with the cheaper Value Brand Liquid that costs around 15p per bottle and is substancially lower in quality. I use this product reqularly. The liquid is thick yet pours easily from the bottle without clogging the cap. The different varieties smell great and really really fresh. I find the liquid to be very effective in washing dishes, pots and pans etc. I would go as far to say that I find it as useful and effective as the leading brand of liquid. I have never had a dirty pot etc. that I have been unable to cean with this product...
