Maybelline dream satin liquid foundation - does what it says

Advantages: Hides those unwanted pores whilst providing a effortless and flawless finish
Disadvantages: Dont use too much! less is much better with this foundation

...Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid air whipped foundation promised an air brushed finished and in my opinion this is exactly what i got. I have quite open pores on my cheeks and nose which can be quite embarrassing because I do not have blackhead or spots in fact I have good healthy clear skin. I have tried several different foundations from a number of companies. Naively like a number of women I watched their advertisements and was instantly under the illusion that by switching to their foundation I could have the natural and smooth looking skin the models in the advertisement had. Unfortunately this is not the case. I bought this from superdrug when it first came out because they had a really good offer on at the time. Liquid Mineral Foundation, Flawless Skin....Or Is It?

A revolution in liquid foundation

Advantages: Lightweight on the skin, flawless effect, leaves skin glowing, only need a tiny amount, moisturise
Disadvantages: None

...and has a black screw top lid. To apply you simply squeeze the tube and a tiny amount is dispensed through a small hole in the lid, meaning that you can dispense as little as you require. The liquid feels quite thick and creamy and has a gel-like texture and you only need the tiniest amount when applying. I was recommended in store that the MAC 109 small contour brush works really well with this so I apply a little dot of the foundation to the brush and then fluff onto my face in small strokes. I've been amazed at just how little you have to use of this - I use 3 dots (each about the size of half a pea) onto the brush to cover my whole face and I get good coverage. dream satin liquid-best foundation ever!

Advantages: Price , Colour , Coverage , Everything!
Disadvantages: None!

...merely guessing and then once its home the colour is either too light or too dark! You no we've all done it! I chose the colour sand 030 which i found gave my skin a glow without it looking orange. Once on ,the liquid glides onto skin smoothly and is easily blended. Normally with foundations i get tide marks down the side of my face yet with this foundation that didnt happen.It gives skin a glow so maybe not the best choice for people who like foundation to be matte and also if you suffer with oily skin it may increase shine so if using this foundation with powder on top may achieve a better look. The coverage this foundation gives would be medium as although it did cover my blemishes i still felt as though my skin could breathe and it isnt too heavy that it clogs pores and causes spots.By the end of the day my foundation was still in tact...

...So.. what with economic recession and the credit card crunch I was intrigued when I read something somewhere about normal brand foundations being essentially the same as expensive brands.. and so this summer i decided to try and see if this was true and instead my usual chanel matte lumiere i found myself browsing in boots... i'v used and liked alot maybelline products - their great lash mascara is super by the way - so i was keen to try one of their foundations. My friend had used the dream mousse foundation with great results but as i have slightly dry/dehydrated skin i picked up the new liquid version... ah yes dnt we all love anything with big NEW sign on it!! I had always been a fan of Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse in shade ivory, but it started to annoy me as it made my skin dry and sunk in to my pores, even though i do not have noticeably big pores. I then tried a Rimmel Lasting Finish 16hour wear again in shade ivory. Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral - Going in the BIN!!

But my search continues for a foundation that will provide both the coverage I need without looking obvious or thick and not causing breakouts, which I often find they do. It's not my DREAM foundation- but still good

This is the newest addition of Maybelline?s foundation products (June/July 2009) which is their first air whipped mousse foundation. This is different to their normal matte mousse or liquid foundations and is a mixture between the two. It has the feel of a mousse yet the blend ability of a liquid.
