Fun Smoothie maker

Advantages: Looks good in the kitchen
Disadvantages: wire cord not long enough

...The disney smoothie maker 1 Litre jug capacity in Mickey measures safety interlock lid preventing non-secure use. tap for easy dispense unique stir stick £29.99 This smoothie maker comes from the new collection of kitchen appliances from Disney. It has a clear jug, so you can see the contents, the bottom is red and is like Mickey's shorts, it has a red lid and white feet. It is a fun looking smoothie maker. It works just the same as any other smoothie maker and is a good product as it is from the Kenwood range. The difference with this one is, not only does it look cute, but it has a stir stick in the lid, it is easier to get to those bits that always seem to get stuck in the bottom. So start blending, stop and stir then carry on, then when finished stir again. This one a good feature to include. The pourer is...

Smoothie Cocktail (And Soup!!) Maker

Advantages: Ease Of Use, Handy Front Tap, Easy To Clean, Good Looking
Disadvantages: Lid Does Not Fully Seal

...They are a fairly modern craze, smoothies, drinks made from loads of different fruits, and even vegetables, blended together with milk or yogurt or whatever else you can lay your hands on I suppose. Over the past few years the craze has seen smoothie bars opening up all over the place offering long menus of freshly mushed fruit etc.. Home made smoothies make a much healthier alternative to bottled and cartoned fruit juices and similar that we buy in the supermarket, as these quite often have all sorts of added flavourings and colourings, not to mention added sugar. Obviously the much healthier option is to make your own, then you will have full control over exactly what goes into it, to do this you will need a blender, liquidiser or, ideally, a smoothie maker. One of the best names in kitchen appliances is, of course, Kenwood and I...

Review of Kenwood SB 256 Smoothie Concert

A great big smoothie (maker).

Advantages: Powerful. Fast. Easy to use and clean.
Disadvantages: Noisy motor. ? Durability.

...which clogged up the tap and meant me having to pour the lot out by hand. It turns out that you should grate carrot before attempting to liquidise it! --How powerful is it?-- Having said that, this was an easy mistake to make as the roar this machine makes would give you the confidence that it could disentegrate almost anything you cared to throw at it. It has a 500W motor which is not exactly quiet, but is more than powerful enough to make smoothies out of any fruit and even carrot (as long as you grate it first). --Is it good value then? -- In comparison with other smoothie makers, it is similarly priced at around £25. It has a generous 1.5 litre capacity. If you want to shell out another £30, you can get a top of the range model with a more durable metal base. But for most people, this will definitely suffice. -- How durable...

Smoothie Maker

Advantages: Makes some really nice mix
Disadvantages: Too noisey, too big and far too much cleaning involved.

...I got all excited about this product , all the ideas I had. I was going to make the best smoothies and cocktails. I even brought a book of cocktails and smoothies which was going to be my bible So how often have I used my smoothie maker since the first time. I would at a guess say only around 5 times. I have had this device for around 1 year which I brought in the summer of 2006 when I had all my great ideas. To begin this product was exciting I brought all the stuff I was going to put in it. Which I might add was a lot of fruit. I placed all the stuff in the maker , (Once it had taken me a while to work out which bit went where) A ton of fruit later and I had the perfect mix. I got my glass and placed it under the tap. Pulled the tape up and filled the glass to the brim. It tasted lovely. I then realised I had made far to much so...

Review of Kenwood New York Smoothie Maker

It makes a racket - but it makes a good smoothie, too!

Advantages: quick to make a smoothie, not expensive, great way to use up over-ripe fruit
Disadvantages: the noise, not dishwasher-proof

...I'm not sure if this not-so-little gadget is still on sale (knowing the way kitchen appliances and . . . well, pretty much all other day-to-day gadgets get updated every few months, there's probably a much newer, more impressive version on sale now) because I've had it since Christmas 2004, when I think it cost around £40. I don't think I'm supposed to know how much it cost because "Santa brought it" but I spotted it in our local department store and sometimes I just can't help but notice. Anyhow, although I go through phases of using it every day or every other day and then leave it alone in its box for weeks at a time, I'm pleased to say that my New York Smoothie Maker is still going strong - and still makes a great banana milkshake. (Assuming I've got bananas.) THE BOX AND PACKAGING I'm surprised and impressed that the box hasn...

smoothie maker review

Advantages: makes yummy smoothies
Disadvantages: arnt any

...Ok so if you know me you will know that my partner is a huge smoothie fan and is always making smoothies for our family and anyone else that will taste them. I have not had much dealings with the smoothie maker but have used it on a few occasions but i have tasted the produce and its lovely! So this used to be our smoothie maker until my partner left a knife in there and turned it on causing the smoothie maker to crack and yes you got it, it broke and stopped workiing so we now have the day and night smoothie maker but i havent used that one yet! Ok so this smoothie maker is really attractive to the eye the base is a silver chrome effect and is lovely and shiney looks lovely in the kitchen i must say. The whole things is actually fairly attractive there is a stirer that goes in the top which is handy to have when making...

Kenwood Junior Smoothie maker

Advantages: makes lovely tasty smoothies
Disadvantages: none so far?

...I have never been one for smoothies or milk shakes, but on a recent trip to Currys, my husband spotted this machine on sale for £24.99. Our machine has a nice chrome finish, but it is also available in white. I think our model may have been exclusive to Currys. SETUP AND USE OF THE MACHINE +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I opened the box and took out everything. The machine is well packed to avoid damage. The machine was really easy to put together, its basically just sticking the bowl on the base and then making sure you put the lid on before you press start! Thats if you want to avoid decorating everything in sight. My first attempt at the machine didn't go too well, mainly due to me not chopping the fruit up small enough. I tried strawberries and banana and it was lovely, but a bit thick. My cousin later advised me to...

Review of Kenwood Smoothie Junior

Diamond review  Smoothie anyone??

Advantages: Easy to use, Dispensing Tap
Disadvantages: NOISY!!!

...For my 25th Birthday this year, I?d asked my mum for a Kenwood New York Smoothie Maker. This was mainly because my birthday is in the summer, and I knew I would appreciate the chance to enjoy some luxurious ice-cold smoothies, but I also thought it would come in handy for cocktail evenings, especially as the winter draws near. Being such a nice mum (and me being the only daughter who doesn?t live at home) she agreed quite readily, so on the evening of the 11th (they day after my birthday as I was too ?merry? to do anything too soon) I set about unwrapping my present. Kenwood New York Smoothie Maker Packaging The Kenwood packaging is very similar to all their products currently on the market, displaying the KENWOOD logo, and a lovely background in shades of blue. The picture on the front of the box, was of a shiny chrome...

Review of Kenwood New York Smoothie Maker

Smoothie maker by day, cocktail maker by night!

Advantages: It has a tap, really easy to use, cheaper to make your own smoothies
Disadvantages: Doesn't dishwash, but still easy to wash up!

...I'll be the first to admit that when it comes to kitchen gadgets and gizmos like this one, I usually go in with my eyes closed and - within about a week of having bought it - decide that it's useless and don't use it again. But this one seems to be different (bear in mind, though, that I've only actually had it for five days now). Anyone who's read my review of Innocent's fruit smoothies - and hopefully soon my review of PJ's smoothies, too - will know that I'm a total addict. And let's face it, it's fab to be addicted to something that makes a living out of doing your body such good. So imagine my delight, then, to find such an inexpensive machine that makes smoothies in a whiz. In essence, the Kenwood New York Smoothie maker is little more than a blender, but it's designed more for fruit smoothie making in that - as well as...

Not so Smoothie

Advantages: Safe to use
Disadvantages: Needs a lot more power to liquidise the fruit

...My daughter was given one of these for Christmas after ?begging? for one. What a disappointment! There we were, Christmas day, and my daughter was really excited. She?d been asking for a Smoothie maker for the 6 months prior to Christmas, and knowing she was getting this, we had plenty of fruit to hand. I put in the batteries (4xAA) which was easy (screwdriver required), and left her with all the ingredients. Being 8 yrs old, she didn?t need an awful lot of help. The machine comes with a recipe booklet, so she spent some time deciding what to make with the ingredients she had to hand. After about 10 minutes of hearing this machine whirring, I went to see what she was doing. There were big lumps in the mixture which were just not blending down. In the end, after 3 attempts, we gave up, got out the blender, and did it...
