Boston Hilton

Advantages: Comfortable, clean, good location

...I like my home comforts when I am travelling abroad, but Mr Tart is quite happy to stay in any old hostel. We were looking for somewhere to stay on a trip to Boston and had decided that a guest house would be a happy medium. However, they weren?t that cheap and when I had a look on Expedia and found a Hilton for less money I couldn?t believe my luck! LOCATION: This Hilton is located in Boston?s Financial District. It is at 89 Broad Street. Despite it being in the Financial District we found it very easy to walk from the hotel to the main tourist sites of the city. Quincy Market and the Old State House were only 10 minutes walk away. PRICES: The price of this particular hotel seems to vary a lot depending on when you stay and who you book through. ...I hadn't read any of Lisa Gardner's books before but had heard of her so when I saw she had a few in the library I picked up one that sounded good and wasn't too big to fit in my bag. The story is about a woman called Annabelle Granger who had spent most of her life on the run, as her father made the family move from place to place changing aliases throughout her childhood until eventually they ended up back in their hometown of Boston and her father died. One morning Annabelle opens the paper and discovers that she has been declared dead, her body found in an underground chamber along with five other young girls. Annabelle goes to the police where she meets Detective Bobby Dodge and Sergeant DD Warren. Bobby is new to working with the Boston police as he used to be a police sniper but due to events in the past he has changed...

...We booked the room online at www.Hilton.co.uk, Hilton guarantee that their best rates are available online. We booked a few months in advance and got a really good rate. Rates do change, at the moment double roms are £110 per night with guest room plus rooms £134. Because I boked well in advance i got a double plus room (gets a sea view, fluffy bath robes etc) for under £100. The Wbsite has info about the hotel including pictures of rooms etc The hotel is relatively modern with lots of car parking. When we checked in Reception was busy but was very efficient. All the public areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean On balance a hotel that I'm likely to stay at again. I stayed on a Sunday, arriving in time for Sunday lunch. The Restaurant, the Promenade, has a Carvery which was extremely good with starters of either soup or a help...

...Hilton Toronto Having recently returned from a great stay at the Hilton and Toronto thought that it was about time that I attempted to put pen to paper again on Ciao as been absent for quite a while! I opted for this hotel because I found a great deal of around £500 for 2 people for 7 nights at the beginning of September 2006. The room: The room was located on the 16th floor as was spacious with two comfortable double beds and nice, fresh linen. In addition there was a wardrobe that whilst note huge was provided adequate storage as well as the ever useful iron and ironing board. A large TV provided ample international TV and good 'pay per' movies; the usual Hollywood Blockbuster stuff. There was a well stocked mini bar at reasonable prices and a nice coffee machine with a good range of complimentary hot drinks...

...If you have read my Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur review you may question why I would even contemplate staying at a different property. The answer to this would be price. Hilton managed to entice me to stay at their flagship Asian property In February and March this year due to a 70% discount promotion. Given the nature of the recession I thought it was best to slim my expenditure down to size and took a Grand Executive Suite at £110 a night. The usual price for this would be in excess of £250 a night and when you see the room, you can clearly understand why. Hilton KL opened in 2004 and established itself as a major player in the KL hotel market and was soon crowned the accolade of Hilton?s flagship Asian property.   Comfortable & relaxing stay for 5 star Hilton!

Advantages: comfortable, beach location, better value than newer 5 star hotels, good customer service.
Disadvantages: overshadowed by construction of taller buildings behind the Hilton - pool area is partly shaded

...A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the Oasis Beach hotel was the last hotel on the beach strip apart from the Hilton Hotel; the surrounding land was just barren desert. However, after my present visit in 2006 I was surprised to see there were about 200 buildings being constructed behind the Hilton Hotel! If you've read this far and are thinking it's a big no, no you'll be surprised at how much the construction doesn't really bother you. As soon as you catch a glimpse of the white sandy beaches against the clear blue skies and hear the sound of the sea as the waves come in?you soon forget the construction, believe me you do...

...The Planning What we were looking for? When making plans for our wedding, we were looking for a venue that would fit into our tight budget. We did not want to go overboard with our wedding, and were cutting back everywhere we could - within reason. I visited the websites for all the local hotels among other venues, and thought I may as well fill in the form on the Hilton website - never imagining that it would ever fir in with our budget - how wrong I was. I very nearly didn't fill in the form - I'm so glad I did. The Hiltons Reply? A few days after filling in the form I received a phone call from one of the events organisers at the Hilton, who was lovely, and went through the details on the form to check she had got it right - the form is American and is a bit confusing.
