...Linkin Park is one of my favourite bands, they play an alternative American rock/metal music, their first mainstream album Hybrid Theory was an amazing collection of songs. This album has its own unique style of rock music combining scream singing, rapping and electric percussion. The track listing on this cd is: Papercut This is a great song about paranoia, this song really shows of the talents of all members in the band, it is mostly rapped and one of the best songs on the album. The Guernsey Literary Society will make you want to read too!

Advantages: Unusual format and a novel storyline
Disadvantages: Sometimes the plot was a little far-fetched

She finds out how the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society came into existence and discovers other members with whom she also starts to form various relationships. How close does she become to these strangers and what impact will this have on her own life? The book is unusual in that it is written in letter format. Most of the letters and telegrams are to or from Juliet and communicate with her old school friend Sophie, her editor (and Sophie's brother) Sidney, her boyfriend and members of the Literary Society. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory Review

Advantages: timeless songs and endless entertianment for evey occasion
Disadvantages: the cover is a big confusing but that would be the only downfall of the product

...Linkin Park has been a favourite band of mine for years now and this was the third CD of theirs that I bought, this amazing CD came out in 2000, a new millennium, a new CD for Linkin Park. Compared to all their other CD?s I have to say that ?Hybrid Theory? is my favourite, the combination of Linkin park songs that most of which have become metal legends, is outstanding. The song that stands out most to me is, of course, Runaway. This song illustrates the injustice of the world in a truly original way. This song exercises the never ending question of ?why?? and ?how?? the first track on this CD is ?Paper cut? also a truly original track. The beginning starts of all mysterious and creepy then the tempo picks up for a few seconds. This is repeated several times throughout the track. The overall effect is astounding and foreboding...

An excellent starting point.

Advantages: The simple style and good level of detail.
Disadvantages: Not for anyone without an interest in theory.

...As a literature student suddenly plunged into the scary world of literary theory at university level, I felt way out of my depth. I struggled getting to grips with various theorists until I was finally recommended this book by a tutor. I actually found it in the university library rather than buying it (I'm a student after all!) but if I were to pursue this study I would definitely buy it. Terry Eagleton presents a very clear outline of literary theory in an accessible and eloquent style that nevertheless gives a lot of information about a complicated subject. I had finally found a way in to understanding literary theory and was able to go on to look at other authors in a new light, appreciating their in depth knowledge all the more for this simplistic presentation of theory. ...I would just like to write a review on the AB Guide to Music Theory, a book written by Eric Taylor in conjunction with the syllabus for the graded exams as run for the theory of music by the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM). This review is on Part One, or rather the book that sets out what is covered for Grades one to five. And for those who are interested, Part Two deals with Grades five to eight although there is not an actual area or space to write about this on Ciao for now. But in the meantime, let us return to Part One. As already noted, it is published by the ABRSM to cover thheir syllabus for the theory of music exams and was published first in 1989 although there have been many subsequent publishings since this time. Advantages: They are quite energetic, its a good cd with lots of good songs on it

...I personally am quite a big fan of Linkin' Park. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I can understand why Linkin' Park might not be of their taste in music. Anyway, I have decided to write this op on the 6 guy band to get across my view (plus I needed something else to write about lol). THE BAND: Linkin' Park is not just a rock band. This is generally what that they are seen as. The band members describe their music as a "cross-section of many genres; a hybrid of what the six of us have grown up on" explain the lads of Linkin' Park. ...Hello everyone! This is my first ever review on Ciao! As everybody seems to doing it at school I thought that I had better join in! As I'm new to this I would appreciate comments advising me on how to improve or add things to my opinions. I'm positive they won't be good to start off with so any comments at all would help me a great deal! Anyway, on with the review: Linkin Park - Hybrid theory is one of the best albums of the year in my opinion. Now I'm not a great listener of this particular type of music, but I decided to try this album based on the single Crawling by the same artist. There is a mixture of softer to heavy tracks which makes them all different, this is refreshing and makes it easier to listen to. The album is only 37 minutes long split into 12 tracks. ...I passed my theory test in August 2007, and i was so excited, i prepared myself very well, and i prayed i could pass. How i prepared: To be totally honest i didnt lift a book to prepare for my theory test, i just went online, and i did all the mock tests i could find, and i kept doing them and doing them until i couldnt look another one , and i learnt all the stuff i needed to know and i learnt from the mistakes. I know people read the theory test book, and stuff, but i am awful, any book i lift, i get bored and tired and end up dropping it and sleeping within the half hour, so i knew that wasnt the method for me. I also got the dvd disks which contained all you needed to know for your whole test, including video clips of the hazard preception, practical test show me tell me and then a few mock theory tests.
