A Battery Life Less Ordinary

Advantages: Great longevity
Disadvantages: Awkward and annoying

...The big problem with the battery of a PSP is that unlike the main competition (GBA, NDS) which have great battery life, the PSP does not; in fact you'll get barely more than 2 hours out of it. With this in mind I was quite intrigued by the powermaster battery that offers considerably more charge for your pound. Plus's often come with minus's and the first minus is the size of this battery; in short it's a damn size bigger than the one that comes as standard. So much bigger its sticks out considerably more too. This forms part of issue number two, it's now more awkward to hold. Once you got used to the size of the standard battery having this big monster sticking out the back comes as quite a shock. Shocks go hand in hand with annoyance, the battery pack now feels loose so loose that you often actually pull the battery off by accident...

Sony Camcorder Battery

Advantages: It can hold a very good charge

...In the past two years I have bought 4 of these batteries. I love these batteries because Sony have made most of their camcorders compatible with this battery. This meant that when I got my new camcorder for Christmas this year I was then able to transfer my old battery for a back-up. I have bought so many of these batteries because I do a lot of sightseeing. I have also choose this battery over any other because it holds an extremely good charge. I had came across times when I was standing in front of a beautiful landmark and I had no battery charge. After that experience any holidays, or events I got to I always bring at least one spare, charged battery as well as my own. ...This lithium ion battery offers a long lasting video recording time for your cam recorder . It has the looks , the shape and the price as all other batteries and it is easy to use , just put it in the place for battery like the sketch shows on the camcorder . It is better and more of a high quality then the one that comes with the camera . Also by recycling it you can save the surronding enviroment . I reccomend also buying a new charger for the battery , because in my case the one that came with the cam recorder has let me down after two weeks from when i bought the camera. it just didn't want to charge the battery. what else should is say... it is just a normal battery...

Battery flattery

You can imagine that back in the days of NiCads and their dreaded memory effect, my batteries soon became useless. These are much more user-friendly. I would say that a spare battery like this is absolutely essential. On my Coolpix 4500 you get very little warning of imminent battery failure, it just tells you it's run out and shuts down. These only seem to take about 3-4 hours to charge and they're quite small. A nice feature of this battery is that Nikon provide a small snap-on plastic terminal cover so there's no risk of the spare shorting and discharging in your bag or pocket. This battery came with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and i have been using it for about 2 months and have not found a fault with it. It came free with the Camera (Amazom £139) but it can be bought separately for around £20. The battery charges up through a charger which plugs to a normal plug socket and takes around 4hrs depending on how charged the battery is. I got this charger with the camera and you should get it with any sony camera you get. The only reason therefore to buy this battery is as a replacement but i have not found a need for one. Li-ion batteries also generally offer longer life than other types of battery, and are less weighty as a bonus. Typically though, they tend to me more pricey - so certainly horses for courses. To look at, the battery is nothing special. It's a black enclosed plastic unit, not much bigger than two AA's joined together. It's got a flat bottom which is where you'll find the contacts and technical information. The Canon battery is 1100mAh, and 7.4volts - doesn't sound that powerful does it? There's a handy battery cover which sits nicely over the bottom, protecting the contacts when you are not using it. It weighs about 75g. So how long does it last? Well on my Canon 300D, the manual claims 600 shots without the flash, and 400 with 50% flash use...

Canon - It blew me out of the water!

Advantages: Long lasting, VG quality, trusted brand.
