A Battery Life Less Ordinary

Disadvantages: Awkward and annoying

...The big problem with the battery of a PSP is that unlike the main competition (GBA, NDS) which have great battery life, the PSP does not; in fact you'll get barely more than 2 hours out of it. With this in mind I was quite intrigued by the powermaster battery that offers considerably more charge for your pound. Plus's often come with minus's and the first minus is the size of this battery; in short it's a damn size bigger than the one that comes as standard. So much bigger its sticks out considerably more too. This forms part of issue number two, it's now more awkward to hold. Once you got used to the size of the standard battery having this big monster sticking out the back comes as quite a shock. Shocks go hand in hand with annoyance, the battery pack now feels loose so loose that you often actually pull the battery off by accident...

Sony Camcorder Battery

Advantages: It can hold a very good charge

...In the past two years I have bought 4 of these batteries. I love these batteries because Sony have made most of their camcorders compatible with this battery. This meant that when I got my new camcorder for Christmas this year I was then able to transfer my old battery for a back-up. It has the looks , the shape and the price as all other batteries and it is easy to use , just put it in the place for battery like the sketch shows on the camcorder . It is better and more of a high quality then the one that comes with the camera . Also by recycling it you can save the surronding enviroment . ...This battery uses Li-ion technology which has been a great relief to me as I am the world's least disciplined battery charger, slapping batteries into chargers at any old state of charge. You can imagine that back in the days of NiCads and their dreaded memory effect, my batteries soon became useless. These are much more user-friendly. I would say that a spare battery like this is absolutely essential. On my Coolpix 4500 you get very little warning of imminent battery failure, it just tells you it's run out and shuts down. These only seem to take about 3-4 hours to charge and they're quite small. A nice feature of this battery is that Nikon provide a small snap-on plastic terminal cover so there's no risk of the spare shorting and discharging in your bag or pocket. Acer plays the Ace card again!

Advantages: Small, lightweight, great performer. Can handle some 3D games.
Disadvantages: None for the Netbook, but Linux version is rubbish.

For me, installing XP was the right thing to do as I can install all my usual programs which isn't possible with Linux. As the performance was more than I was expecting I can't fault it and considering the hardware installed and the price paid I was not expecting such a performance. The battery life for some may not be enough but as its only intended for browsing, checking mail and the like, it's good enough for me. Other batteries are available from around £60 and will extend usage to 6 hours. It's better to buy Acer branded ones. On a recent cruise the A150 was a dream to have for keeping in touch with the kids back home and being so small you hardly even know you're carrying it. The ability to play some older games was a bonus I wasn't expecting...

...Having previously owned a digital camera taking normal AA batteries a key priority in buying a new camera was to have a rechargable battery. This battery came with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 and i have been using it for about 2 months and have not found a fault with it. It came free with the Camera (Amazom £139) but it can be bought separately for around £20. The battery charges up through a charger which plugs to a normal plug socket and takes around 4hrs depending on how charged the battery is. I got this charger with the camera and you should get it with any sony camera you get. The only reason therefore to buy this battery is as a replacement but i have not found a need for one.
