Review of The Karate Kid (Special Edition) (DVD)

Stuart Little - For little a BIG kids !!!

Advantages: State of the art computer graphics. Totally enjoyable.
Disadvantages: Be prepared to suspend reality.

...This film is like a breath of fresh air. The next generation of computer graphics is here. The "Human-Like" qualities of Stuart Little (the adorable mouse) is fantastic. The voice of Michael J Fox as Stuart is perfect. Be prepared, like the whole of the cast to suspend belief throughout the film. You don't need to ask "but why would a couple want to adopt a mouse ?", it's just not important, instead just enjoy it for what it is. Total entermainment for all LITTLE and BIG people, everywhere. You will leave with a smile on your face after seeing this film. Go see it NOW !!! (oh yes and don't forget to take the kids)....

Spy Kids The Real Heroes

Advantages: Really good story, Inventive, Great for the whole family
Disadvantages: This type of film has been done before

Review of Spy Kids (DVD)

Good for the kids

Advantages: novelty, well built both controls and wii can take a beating, great for the family,
Disadvantages: lacks graphics, lingers further away from the older gamer, not many good games

...I bought a wii a good 6 months ago and to start with like most people I found the novelty great espeically with friends but unfortunatley after a month or two the wii just began gathering dust and eventually I sold it at christmas to a friend for her kids. I would highly recommend the wii for kids and kids only. I m 19 and besides the free wii sports you get with the console theres not much going for the older gamer. Also it gets really boring if you do not have someone else to play it with. Overall the gameplay is good the wii remote works xtremely well as long as your are within 10ft of the console it will pick up ever motion you make. This can be trick to get use to to start with but with the free wii sports game you get with the console is a great way to get ajusted to the wii and before you know it will have become second nature...

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!!!

...This film has all the key ingredients of a great kids movie, mad cap inventor, kids seeking adventure and a new world full of fun and exciting new challenges. Honey I Shrunk the Kids is one of my favourite movies from when I was a kid. In my opinion, it?s not a classic like Back to the Future or The Goonies is for me but it is still fairly high on my list. The film was actually released in 1989, wow, that?s 20 years ago now. Wayne Szalinski is a crazy inventor whos creations don?t always work out as well as he hopes. His machines generally always fail halfway but he is still convinced that he can make a product that actually works. There are also some true stories that make me angry. Reading about some horrible things that have happened to people and things that they have gone through. A book that I took on holiday with me last year was called ‘The Kid’ written by Kevin Lewis. This book made me sad and angry. If anybody has read the book ‘A Child Called It’ by Dave Pelzer then you should read this book too. ...I decided to review this kids' sunscreen as I believe it is such an important issue, having had a mole removed because it started to change shape and size, due to sun exposure. I used to visit the local sun-tanning shop on a regular basis, many years ago. Suffice to say, I've 'seen the error of my ways' and are now looking for a good 'fake tan!!!' I've used other sunscreen products many times, and have found this particular brand to be the best so far. It's difficult to protect your kids from the sun, especially when on holiday - those sandy beaches........ * floats away imagining a sandy beach, blue sky, crystal clear water ............comes back to reality with a bump - remembering to try to put sun cream on the kids without getting sand in it *..... rubbing in sand-infested sunscreen is AWFUL! Up until recently I was pureeing fruit and adding it to natural yoghurt and that has been his "pudding" or snack during the day. While browsing round Sainsburys a few weeks back I noticed these Muller Little Stars products, they do smooth yoghurt, fromage frais and fruit juice jellies. Get your kids cooking for you! A great book.

Advantages: no knives, no direct heat - kids can do this!
Disadvantages: some of the ingredients a bit hard to find
