...A few years following my diagnosis with diabetes and hypothyroidism, another problem came to light ? Fatty liver. I disliked the name of the newest condition to share my body instantly; doesn?t it sound like a name someone overweight might be called in the playground. Still no other name had come forth to my knowledge and the doctors insisted that I had a Fatty Liver?. So why did I get this new condition? Apparently it?s common in people with diabetes, add the fact I also have hypothyroidism it was apparently no big surprise that I got it. But it is a fairly new thing from what I gather, and the British Liver Trust has ONLY recently got a page on their web site detailing the condition. So what are the symptoms? I had no symptoms whatsoever, and many people don?t. However blood tests revealed something wasn?t right with the liver...

Royal Liver Building :Solid as a rock

Advantages: Wonderful,timeless,building.

Disadvantages: Smells so good you want to keep eating it before it's all assembled

...This is one of the quickest starters I make. It's wonderful if you like liver but not if you don't!! Ingredients: 2oz butter 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped 1-2 cloves garlic, crushed 12oz pigs liver, chopped 4 tablespoons white wine salt freshly ground black pepper 2 tablespoons brandy or wine (optional) 2 tablespoons double cream melted butter cucumber slices to garnish I normally double this recipe for when we have guests Melt the butter in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft. Add the liver and cook gently for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the wine, seasonings and brandy if using, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes until tender. Cool slightly then blend in a liquidizer until smooth. Stir in the cream, taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Spoon into individual dishes...

...Years ago I remember an old lady inviting me to her house for dinner, we had the most wonderful pate and toast as a starter, so I asked her how to make it. I couldn't believe it was so simple because it tastes wonderful, rich and very expensive. So if you are a pate lover and want a treat this Christmas, give it a go. Serves 6 INGREDIENTS 225g (8oz) Chicken Livers. 175g (6oz) Butter. Two table spoons Brandy. Two teaspooms of Mustard Powder. One teaspoon Mixed Herbs. Two Cloves of Garlic (Crushed). Salt and Pepper. Melt 25g (1oz) of the butter in a frying pan, add the chicken livers and fry on a medium heat for five minutes, turning constantly. ...his breed, god knows why when they accepted that they were brothers one was a dal and one wasnt. So be warned dalmations do have two typical colours, the liver(brown) is caused by a recessive gene, while the black is the dominant, hence most dals have black spots. Pups should be tested for deafness as it is a common problem caused by inbreeding, also unless you want a show dog go for one with many spots, show dogs should have small (Penny) sized spots evenly distributed and not overlapping. Personally I prefer random sized spots as it looks like a 'real' dalmation. As pups yes they are cute but they are hard work but put the effort in and they are extremely loyal and loving. My husband is not a ‘meat and two veg’ man, he does not eat many vegetables and does not like salad, he is a bit of a junk food freak, so he does not set a very good example to the kids.
