Odeon - Liverpool's Number One
Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
...I am a huge cinema fan, and living in the centre of Birmingham for the last couple of years has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One,
Odeon Liverpool One
Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation.
There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas across the UK (I tried to count, but it's a lot!). The website has a cinema finder to help you locate your nearest. For this review I shall be talking about Odeon, Liverpool ONE.
When Liverpool ONE was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found...

Liverpool Lovelies Trilogy ... Part 2
Advantages: Loads of room to park our bottoms, jacuzzi, freebies and a huge bed!
Disadvantages: Having to knock on the door like an old strumpet at 5am, paying for parking my car, cheek!!
...of us slept very well if at all. Jo your bed is a nightmare girl, how she sleeps in it is beyond me it was like sleeping on a concrete block, Jules ended up with a bad back and I had an aching face from laughing at her most of the night. It was decided there and then to check into a hotel for the following night.
Ringing round that morning though was proving difficult, it was Liverpool's last game of the season and all the hotels were fully booked, good from the point of view that the city center would be full of men, bad because we needed to sleep ... eventually.
We finally found a hotel with one room only for the night, The Holiday Inn Liverpool City Center. It was close to everything, in fact right on the doorstep of the clubs and bars, handy for late night stumbling, but one problem, the only room available was The Presidential...

Classy Liverpool Marriott
Advantages: Central, clean, helpful staff, good facilities
Disadvantages: Price of food!
...Me and my girlfriend stayed in the Marriott for one night back in March 2007.
The reception area in the Marriott is very nice and extremely clean.
When checking in the receptionist was very friendly, offering us extra services and any help/advice we needed for our stay.
The conceirge was also very polite, helping us in the lift and offering us help with our bags.
The actual room was great, a lovely view looking onto some of Liverpool's historic buildings and the bed was very comfortable. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was also very nice.
We had a meal in the hotel and although the service was second to none, and the meal was beautiful, the pricing was extremely high. We would not eat in the hotel if we stayed again as there are many lovely restaurants close by the hotel offering much greater value. The meal...

Formule 1 Liverpool City Center
Advantages: Cheap, good location.
Disadvantages: shareing toilet and shower,
...My first time to this hotel, in Liverpool town center didnt really leave me with any positves about this place, for the price they charge though, i wasnt expecting much more then just a room. I was quite surprised to find a Television with a remote control, a sink for a quick wash, free towels, and a bunk bed, being a double on the bottom and single on the top.
The decor is very basic, the one and only window only opened half way, so wasnt able to get much fresh air into the room.
As for the toilets and shower, they are shared with other people on the same floor as you, they are both in seperate areas, was an awfull smell coming from the toilets, so had to hold my nose while in there. As for the shower, it was quite roomy, with space to put your towel, a mirror, and hot running water. No slip mat on the floor, the whole shower was...

Great value in Berlin city centre
Advantages: Value
Disadvantages: Nothing springs to mind
...My friend and I went to Berlin earlier on this month for a short break to get away from the bad Scottish weather. We were away for three days and four nights and were looking for somewhere cheap but comfortable to stay. We ended up staying at the Holiday Inn Express City Centre West.
Cost
Cost is always my prime consideration when making any purchase so I was delighted with the price of £27 per person per night for a twin room at the Holiday Inn Express, especially given the poor Euro exchange rate for tourists. This was a special offer from one of the many websites that offers good deals on hotels. The special offer gave 25% off the standard price so the standard price would be £36 per night. This is still pretty good value I think, for the reasons listed below in my review?
Booking
As mentioned above I booked through...

New Years Eve at the Ibis
Advantages: Good Location, ample parking
Disadvantages: Costly for the room
...minutes walk from the city centre of Liverpool.
Follow signs for the Albert Dock and Maritime Museum, the hotel is located directly opposite the Albert Dock Gates.
~**The Cost**~
Weekdays the cost is 51.95 increasing to 55.95 on weekends so as you can see the price is not too bad and it does not increase on New Years Eve fantastic!!!
~**Facilities**~
There is a large car park located to the front of the hotel and there were plenty of spaces on new Years eve, although we had taken the train it was something to note for next years visit.
~**Check-in**~
The reception area was located directly opposite the entrance and was manned by 2 members of staff to check you in. You were given a guest form to complete which required you to fill in your home address and telephone number complete with a signature, you were then required to pay...

Delta Hotel 42 The Damrak Amsterdam City Centre
Advantages: Superb Central Location
Disadvantages: Strict on Room Checkout Times
...street, it is an excellent location to relax over a good breakfast whilst watching the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. If you just fancy a snack, a few doors down from the hotel is 'Pizza M Slice' serving the best (yep you've guessed it) pizza in the city. A must try.
If you are travelling to Amsterdam by car (not recommended) the hotel has arranged a 15% discount off parking fees at a car park a few minutes away. Parking is very expensive in the city, and as the public transport is excellent and the majority of attractions are close by, a car really is not needed.
For those of a sporty nature there is a modern fitness centre 20 meters from the hotel, where, in cooperation with the fitness centre, there is a discount for guests.
All in all, the Hotel Delta is an ideal choice for the budget-minded traveler, very reasonable rates...

Kraking location - Holiday Inn City Centre, Krakow
Advantages: Great location as a base to visit this city, well recommended
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for
...rooms are up.
The Rooms
When I visited there were more than 150 guest rooms, mainly the standard room with a number of Executive rooms and a few suites. My room was a standard room and I found it large enough (larger than many city centre hotels rooms), well equipped and comfortable. The room was air conditioned - pleasant in May, probably essential in July and August.
The usual range for a 4* standard business-type hotel, so bathrobe and slippers, a mini bar (as usual, pricey), TV with BBC and some other foreign language services (French, German, Italian, US news), iron and board, a desk/chair/vanity mirror, phone which had message warning and wake up call options. There was a mini-safe. Again, as usual, there was plenty of hanging space for a couple of days visit.
The window looked into an internal courtyard, so some light...

MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmSubway
Advantages: gorgeous tasting sarnies....
Disadvantages: the disadvantage being i have nothing to enter here!
...Subway for those who don't know is a chain of fast food restaurants from America, but it's fast food with a difference...
Its HEALTHY. Yes.Fast food and the word H E A L T H Y
in the same scentence!
Sandwiches are their main products, and they are so delicious, but before Ive summed up this whole op at the beginning, let us move on...
---LOCATION---
In Liverpool, we used to have only one subway outlet, but in the last year two more have opened up in the city centre. The origional one is the only one with tables though, as the other two are take-outs only.
Now I dont enjoy eating in the street so I find this a bit dissapointing but what the hey!...
They are opening another one newly built just near me with a new Tesco express and choices video store. So this will be convenient.
---WHAT SORT OF FOOD DO THEY SELL...

Best place for coffee on the high street!
Advantages: Excellent coffee, relaxing atmosphere, delicious food and sweet treats
Disadvantages: Over priced, lack of comfy seating, upstairs seating area closes before the café does
...I've been to going to Starbucks since I spotted them in Liverpool City Centre. The coffee is generally excellent and has that Starbucks taste I just can't get anywhere else. My favourite hot coffee drink is the Gingerbread Latte, it is a seasonal special so only seems to be available around Christmas time (not long now). It's not too gingery and I would recommend it to anyone. They should serve it all year round.
The variety of coffee and coffee-based drinks is impressive. The menu of coffee based drinks is always expanding. The range of cakes and sweets is very good and they are of excellent quality. The sandwiches are also very nice. A point to note it that the ?eat-in? prices of most of their foods is significantly more than the take out price, so you may want to pull up a sofa and spend a good while enjoying your food...
