ARE YOU PAYING OVER THE ODDS FOR MOTOR INSURANCE

Advantages: good value policies .very good benefits
Disadvantages: none

...are you paying too much money for your motor insurance,i know i was . A couple of years ago my insurance premiums seemed to be going through the roof so when 3 years ago i got a renewal notice from sun alliance for £310 for my policy i thought i have had enough so i shopped around first through the aa who came up with a best price of £269 from an obscure company i had never heard of. Someone at work suggested i try liverpool victoria one call to their freephone number resulted in a quote for superior cover than what i had of £189 i couldnt believe it. The service i have received has been excellent and they are not one of theses companies that once they get you they wack up the premiums the following year in fact i still phone around every year and their renewal notice still beats every other company i have tried .Their comprehensive...

friendly insurance

Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: i've found none

...I have had house insurance with this company for 6 years deviating only once (i phone for quotes every year to check price is the best )to direct line, they offered a discount for the first year and when this finished they could no longer beat Liverpool Victoria. I did claim once on this and had no problems (husband burst radiator pipe with floor sander ...a common problems for those inexpert DIY'ers...we had to get an emergency plumber to fix it late at night ...just sent the reciept into LV no hassle) Car insurance again i have had for about the same period certain other companies have offered me cheaper insurance (not by much) BUT please bear in mine that with this company you do get extras 1)courtesy car if yours is damaged 2)hire car if yours is written off 3)they pay out with minimum hassle i have had experience of all...

Good insurance, and it's cheap.

Advantages: Cheap, good service
Disadvantages: None I have discovered as yet

...I have been with Liverpool & Victoria for four years now for both home and private car insurance, and my husband has recently taken out a car (for business use) insurance policy with them. You get a small discount for having more than one policy with them. I have always said that you never really know how good an insurance company is until you have to make a claim so until this year, would not have been able to comment. However I have now made claims on both the car and the household insurance and found the service to be excellent. The claim for the car insurance was handled quickly and efficiently and I got my excess back from them very quickly and without having to chase them up. They have a 24 hour claim line which is very useful. Repairs were authorised straight away and a courtesty car provided for the duration...

LV friendly - it certainly is for moptorists

Advantages: excellent service, cheap insurance
Disadvantages: none

...I have been a customer of liverpool Victoria aka Frizzell for 3 years. Year after year they beat the web and shop brokers for a competitive quote without expensive conditions. I pay £296 for fully comprehensive insurance ( 65% no claims) on a peugeot 306 S reg. I have a reduced premium because I pay £100 excess but get the hire car etc that some companies skimp on. I did have to make a claim some years ago and they could not have been more helpful and prompt. I believe you alos get a discount if you are a Civil Servant in which case you have to join the Civil Service motoring Associaition ( CSMA) which costs about £12 per year but this does mean you get very cheap breakdown cover. Even if you are not a civil servant try the web site anyway - www.liverpool-victoria.co.uk and give them a chance to save you money. Incidentlaly I have...

cheap and a must for the young serious driver

Advantages: very cheap, well worth it for young drivers
Disadvantages: none as yet

...right i first found out about liverpool victoria as my friend was having serious problems trying to get insured on his peugot 205 convertible, but when you are only 19 and trying to get insurance on your own is a mission in it self. however he kept getting silly quotes of between £1500 and £2500. my god the car isnt worth half that so anyway he received a mail drop from a company called liverpool victoria which said that it can provide quotes much lower than many other high street branches. so he got on the phone and gave them a ring. he was on the phone for a bout ten minutes giving all his details and then received his quote which was £650 fully comp but with an excess of £350. with that quote he rang me and asked my advice so i told him to take it out as they must have made a mistake somewhere. so he rang them back to check his...

Victoria Centre Nottingham

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...Nottingham has two large shopping centres, the Broadmarsh Centre and the Victoria Centre, situated at opposite ends of the city centre .The Victoria Centre is the bigger of the two, containing 120 shops (not counting all the various stalls in the market area.) Getting there is easy - if you drive, there's parking for over 2700 cars . If you don't drive, don't worry - almost all the Nottingham City Transport buses stop either directly outside the Victoria Centre, or within a few minutes walk of it . Other bus companies from slightly further afield, such as Trent Barton , terminate at the local coach station within the centre . If you're walking, the centre is signposted from various points in the city centre, and at the end of the day when you're weighed down with shopping, there are 2 taxi ranks directly outside the main entrance...

With friends like these . . . who needs enemies???

Advantages: funny, compelling and full of fascinating characters
Disadvantages: you may feel like killing some of the characters

...I had to request to get this book put on Ciao as I was amazed to find that there were no Victoria Routledge books mentioned whatsoever! I was surprised about this as she was one of my favourite authors for a while. She has written five books so far "Friends Like These", "Kiss Him Goodbye", "And for starters", "Swansong" and "Constance & Faith" - I have read the first four of these books and I have to say I preferred the first two, this one in particular. "Friends Like These" examines the relationship of a group of university friends, who have left university and yet continued their friendship. However, there have been a number of incidents which happened at their time in university which slightly divided the group, and so things can be a bit awkward at times between them. Rachel is basically the heroine of the story (although...

Are your furry friends insured ?

Advantages: Monthly instalments
Disadvantages: they do not cover older pets.

...is enough money there in any emergency. I would say to anyone embarking on taking it out, look into everything first. Oh and just another thing, Tesco my small furry friends are cats, not moggys! This how they refer to you cat! Could you have not been polite and called them another name I was always told this was disresepectful. As I said earlier on in the op, the insurance only covers for 12 months of an condition, this is not very good if you pet has something that is going to be ongoing for the rest of its life. Search for companies as there are ones that cover no matter what. This could be how they keep their prices down. Customer Services --------------------------- www.tesco.com 0845 300 2200 Having gone through the leaflet there is nothing that makes me want to pick up the phone and ring them, sorry, but this...

A Fairer Society

Advantages: Mutual society means cashback, excelletn customer care
Disadvantages: Savings and mortgage rates are a bit average

...Britannia is a mutual building society, with branches in most towns. I have both a mortgage and a savings account with them and have been in several branches near where I live recently, for one reason and another, so I thought I'd tell you all about it! THE MUTUAL BUILDING SOCIETY What this means is that Britannia are not a PLC, and beholden to their shareholders, they are a society owned by the members. so when they make a profit, they distribute a portion of that as fairly as possible to all the members. The way they have devised is a loyalty scheme, whereby once you've been a member for two years (with either a mortgage, a savings account, a credit card etc) you get your share of the profits via a points scheme. The more points you have, the more profit you get, up to a maximum of £500 a year. You accumulate points by having...

Once upon a time, in Liverpool...

Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working

...This time during the month of Beatlemania, instead of just writing about the bands albums, films and death theories, I wanted to write about some of the ways in which Liverpool still celebrate the lives of their favourite sons (beside the football players!). Although Ringo made a few disparaging comments towards his hometown a year or two ago, the phrase ?everyone has to start somewhere? springs to mind and ? although I may be a little bias ? I would have to say that Liverpool is very much the land of opportunity compared to where I live! Right at the heart of the city is Albert Dock, a place now surrounded by various shops, museums and even a hotel with the Echo Arena mere feet away. When I was very little, perhaps six, I remember Mummy and Daddy, as they were affectionately called back then, taking my Brother and I right near...
