Once upon a time, in Liverpool...
Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working
...the name and outside the museum there was a special Sgt. Pepper/Yellow Submarine Superlambanana which really set the scene for the colourful exhibitions that were set to be on offer once inside the Beatles Story. My Mum literally had to drag me away from the concrete mound because I instantly fell in love with it...
ROLL UP FOR THE MYSTERY TOUR!
As you go inside the Beatles story, you are instantly hurled back into the threshold of War-time Britain, when the four babes destined to be a part of Britain?s most prolific America Music Invaders were born. Although some of this section of the museum wasn?t specifically Beatles related, it gave you a good idea of Liverpool in the aftermath of WWII and also gave you an inkling as to what kind of environment John, Paul, George and Ringo grew up in.
On the right hand side as you walk into...

In my Liverpool Home
Advantages: Great City, Friendly People, Wonderful Buildings, etc
Disadvantages: the constant BAD publicity we get
...I thought I'd write an opinion on my home city Liverpool, as I'm totally sick of the stereo-typical bad press we constantly get off the Manchester and London biased media.
Liverpool has a huge ammount to offer visitors (as is shown in the figures that Liverpool is the 3rd most visited place in England, after London and Blackpool) and is despite what alot of people think a very friendly city to visit.
If you are thinking of visiting somewhere, where better than the home of "The most famous band in the world" The Beatles and their "world famous" museum, Two of the most famous and successful football clubs in Europe in Liverpool and Everton (well I have to be honest dont I, Everton are a big club pity they are crap LOL), we have endless listed buildings and wonderful sites, there is the "World famous" Mersey ferries, The Liver...

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA. The Boss at his best
Advantages: Fantastic album
Disadvantages: None
...I suppose Bruce Springsteen is the Marmite of the music world - you either love him or you hate him - or, like many youngsters who encountered him at Glastonbury this year, you have never heard of him (shame on you).
For me, any music that evokes memories of my mid-80s school discos, is automatically beyond any criticism, and the title track from this album is no exception. Of course, one track doesn't make an album, but it can very often be the sole reason for purchasing it.
I have often thought that Springsteen's lyrics were a little suspect, but very often these take second place to the power and emotion of the music and the mood he creates - and this album is Bruce at his raw, belting best.
BORN IN THE USA - The massively powerful title track that seems to have become a patriotic anthem despite its anti...

Lively Liverpool
Advantages: I live here
Disadvantages: Some shops aren't here, the weather
...Cavern. Whether you want to party or just relax, you're guaranteed to find something to do in Liverpool.
I'd recommend: So many of the bars but one I really enjoy is Rat & Parrot at Queen's Square.
SHOPPING:
Liverpool is good for shopping but it lacks some of the shops you'd find in London or Manchester, e.g. Mango, Debenhams and Selfridges. That said, I've never found it to be a problem - I'm sure any woman could still spend all day shopping here. Most of the shops are located on Church Street (Marks and Spencer, Next, Topshop, HMV and others), although a wander along to Bold Street (Karen Millen) or Lord Street (French Connection, GAP) as well as St. John's Precinct and Clayton Square is recommended if you're going on a major spree. There are plenty of cafés to rest your weary feet at - I highly recommend Liverpool bakers Sayers...

Liverpool in trouble
Advantages: One of the biggest clubs in Europe...
Disadvantages: ...going through their worst run in 50 years.
...Picture the scene; it's early November and after a 2-0 win against West Ham, Liverpool went seven points clear at the top of the Premiership and were striding towards a place in the next round of the Champions League, it appeared that it would have to take something very special to knock them out of their stride. Three months on and defeats to the likes of Middlesborough and Sunderland have seen Liverpool slump down the Premiership with no wins in eleven games and an early exit from the Champion League at the hands of little known Swiss club Basle. So where has it all gone wrong for the mighty reds?
Every pundit, fan and his dog has had their two pence worth. Excuses and reasons range from poor management and lack of commitment from the players, to wrong formation and wrong players. I think the problem is much simpler...

Memories are made of this Liverpool
Advantages: A superb City
Disadvantages: difficult to leave, you have to return
...of the 60's were influenced by Skiffle, Rock and Roll coming in from the States, Buddy Holly, Elvis..all huge influences on The Beatles, and other local Bands ( Four Pennies, Mersey Beats, Gerry & the Pacemakers and a host of others), who in turn made the local places famous, because they wrote about them,( Ferry 'cross the Mersey,,Gerry & The Pacemakers) Penny Lane ( I lived near here) Strawbery Fields ( The Slavation Army Home for Kids, I had a couple of friend who went there)..Liverpool Airport ( I remember seeing the Beatles Land here on their way back from the USA) if I had passed my 11+ I would have gone to Quarry Bank School where John Lennon and Paul McCartney went...

Liverpool Lovelies Trilogy Part Three
Advantages: We met up
Disadvantages: They had to travel ages to get here
...***FOREWORD***
OK, some people haven't seem to have copped on to what this opinion is about... It is actually part of a trilogy with Juliemaker (Part1) and Cheekychicken (Part2) concerning our meeting up in Liverpool. It is not a guide to the City itself , rather a guide to our night out
YOU MAY CONTINUE.....
Liverpool. John, Paul George and Ringo . The less said about Jimmy Tarbuck , Stan Boardman and Atomic Kitten the better. The birthplace of the Beatles. So it was only fitting that I took my guests to Matthew Street, home of The Cavern and a dozen other Beatles themed establishments. Personally, I prefer the Jacaranda on Slater Street, that still has the wall murals painted by Messer’s Lennon and Sutcliffe but Rubber Soul on Matthew Street is an eclectically cheesy warm welcome to Merseyside. So, it was there where...

The Final Destination in 3D - Death's final outing is a good one
Advantages: 3D is fully used, bloody like a horror should be, brilliant ending that wraps up the films well
Disadvantages: 3D is really the only standout feature, acting only okay, some dodgy effects masked by 3D
...As a fan of the final destination films I am pleased to say that the latest offering does not disappoint though I am sure a large measure of that is down to the fact that it is in 3D.
In my opinion there is no question that making horrors in 3D works - there is no better genre to take advantage of 3D with various weapons, blood and guts flying out at you - and in this case they have used the 3D format exceptionally well. To give an example, and without spoiling any of the plot, when one of the victims has their head destroyed by a flying tyre the impact of the 3D is truly felt with the trye screaming towards you and then bits of her brain flying all over the place.
The plot is, however, pretty much the same as all the previous installments though this one does end very well and in my mind ties up all the previous films - this has...

Liverpool is a Must-Visit for all Beatles Fans
Advantages: the Beatles, nightlife, cheaper than London, friendly people
Disadvantages: not very green
...to beautify, especially the harbour area, knowing that Liverpool's musical history would attract tourism.
Near the Albert Dock, there are several trendy restaurants and bars alongside tourist attractions including 'The Beatles Story,' the Museum of Liverpool Life, the Maritime Museum, and a branch of the Tate Gallery. On your walk to the Albert Dock from downtown Liverpool, you will pass a Yellow Submarine sculpture, which is a perfect photo-op. Also, near the Albert Dock you can embark on a 'Ferry 'cross the Mersey' River just like in the song.
The Beatles Story costs around £8 to see memorabilia and anamatronic figures of the Beatles. We figured that it wasn't worth paying for since many of the pubs have Beatles memorabilia and are more authentic. It also has an extremely over-priced gift-shop.

Liverpool Lovlies Trilogy PART ONE
Advantages: Lots to see and do very friendly
Disadvantages: Wanted to stay longer
...Most of you are aware that I spent the weekend with a Chicken and princess in the city of Liverpool . I have been home for two days now, the hangover and tiredness is on it's way out, but the memories will remain forever, so I would like to share with you the delights of wonderful Liverpool. This is not going to read like something out the tourist board office but my experience of what I saw and got up to there. (well, almost everything, a real lady would never tell you everything ;-)
I found Liverpool to be the capital of Northern Fun, There are a zillion things to do and places to go, these people live life to the full, and seem to do nothing but eat, drink and go shopping, Heaven!
THE PEOPLE.

There is something for everyone, young or old, and it's so nice to see that all the ages mix and gel together, the people...
