Liverpool Football Club
Advantages: Great squad, great fans, great manager, great history
Disadvantages: No league title for 16 years
...on 22nd September 1978 in Sydney, Australia, Harry has a career so far that has hit the highest heights and the lowest lows. Harry was spotted by Leeds' then boss Howard Wilkinson in 1996 when part of the New South Wales Football Academy. He was handed his debut almost immediately and went on to become a club favourite very quickly with a series of impressive performances, one of which was when he ripped Liverpool apart.
With the bubble at Leeds bursting some time later due to financial over-reaching, Liverpool took advantage of the situation and Houillier brought Harry to Anfield for the bargain fee of £5 million in July 2003. Harry, a boyhood Liverpool fan, saw this as a dream move and turned down big money from Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal to join the club.

Once upon a time, in Liverpool...
Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working
...This time during the month of Beatlemania, instead of just writing about the bands albums, films and death theories, I wanted to write about some of the ways in which Liverpool still celebrate the lives of their favourite sons (beside the football players!). Although Ringo made a few disparaging comments towards his hometown a year or two ago, the phrase ?everyone has to start somewhere? springs to mind and ? although I may be a little bias ? I would have to say that Liverpool is very much the land of opportunity compared to where I live!
Right at the heart of the city is Albert Dock, a place now surrounded by various shops, museums and even a hotel with the Echo Arena mere feet away. When I was very little, perhaps six, I remember Mummy and Daddy, as they were affectionately called back then, taking my Brother and I right near...

Odeon - Liverpool's Number One
Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
...I am a huge cinema fan, and living in the centre of Birmingham for the last couple of years has meant putting up with Odeon Birmingham. Needless to say, I was very happy to discover the brand spanking new Odeon in Liverpool One,
Odeon Liverpool One
Odeon is actually the largest cinema chain in the UK, created by Oscar Deutsch in 1928. Some say that the name comes from Ancient Greek, others say that it comes from the motto Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation.
There are currently... a lot of Odeon cinemas across the UK (I tried to count, but it's a lot!). The website has a cinema finder to help you locate your nearest. For this review I shall be talking about Odeon, Liverpool ONE.
When Liverpool ONE was redeveloped, the city centre Odeon branch was relocated here. The entrance can be found...

Lively Liverpool
Advantages: I live here
Disadvantages: Some shops aren't here, the weather
..., purveyors of the most delicious sausage rolls. There is a Sayers café at the rear of Marks and Spencer as well as a large café in St. John's precinct.
I'd recommend: All of the shops, after all I am a woman. It took me & my sister about 4 hours to visit all of the shops on Wednesday.
EATING OUT:
Liverpool has a good mix of restaurants, as you'd expect from a city. If you're looking for something classy and expensive (and the glimpse of some football players) take a walk down to Albert Dock (Est Est Est, Blue Bar & Café). For Chinese it has to be Chinatown, which you'll find by walking up to the top of Bold Street. If you like Italian food, I'd highly recommend Villa Romano, a nice little restaurant at the bottom of Wood Street. For Indian try the top of Bold Street. A great place to go if you're with people who like different types...

Liverpool in trouble
Advantages: One of the biggest clubs in Europe...
Disadvantages: ...going through their worst run in 50 years.
...Picture the scene; it's early November and after a 2-0 win against West Ham, Liverpool went seven points clear at the top of the Premiership and were striding towards a place in the next round of the Champions League, it appeared that it would have to take something very special to knock them out of their stride. Three months on and defeats to the likes of Middlesborough and Sunderland have seen Liverpool slump down the Premiership with no wins in eleven games and an early exit from the Champion League at the hands of little known Swiss club Basle. So where has it all gone wrong for the mighty reds?
Every pundit, fan and his dog has had their two pence worth. Excuses and reasons range from poor management and lack of commitment from the players, to wrong formation and wrong players. I think the problem is much simpler...

UPDATED Liverpool FC Treble winners 2001
Advantages: On their Day can Beat absolutely ANYONE
Disadvantages: Cant we just win something the easy way for once
..., but that’s football, if you don’t take your chances, you don’t succeed.
Finally onto the main story of the match, Arsenal took the lead on 72 minutes, through Freddie Ljundberg, after a neat through-ball by Robert Pires, that was it, I thought, we where playing terribly and Arsenal had taken the lead, I couldn’t see us getting back into the game, BUT, the goal seemed to wake Liverpool up, and Arsenal seemed to think they had sewn the match up, then on 82 minutes Owen blasted the equaliser in after Babbel had out-muscled Adams, and knocked the ball into Owens path, 1-1, game on, from that moment you could see the game swing into Liverpool’s favour, and I thought, that’s it, we WILL win from here, then only 6 minutes later, Berger with a superb pass from the edge of his own area, found Owen, who after out...

Liverpool...good,bad,ugly
Advantages: entertainment
Disadvantages: emotional rollercoaster
...Ah,now where do i start?
The love of my life and also the bain of it too.
Liverpool fc,the colourful, famous, entertaining, boring, frustrating and all be it said, somewhat disappointing of late.A team of super talented blokes that give me an emotional rollercoaster ride year after year.
I dont expect everyone to understand the passion of football and personally over the last 30 years i have been lucky enough to follow liverpool all over europe, some would say 'waste of money' others would say 'is it that important',well in a word yes it is.
Many sports offer the same sort of passion but when all said and done i think you cant beat football for its sheer entertainment value.
This is where i believe Liverpool hold the key to giving the fans what they want most of the time.
Anfield, the home of liverpool is a stadium where no other set...

Legendary Liverpool
Advantages: Treble winners More of the same next season
Disadvantages: Questionable consistency in League
...The 1966 World Cup final, Ali's rumble in the jungle, great sporting events of a by-gone generation. Now generation X has a sporting event of epic proportions to refer to in its own lifetime.
The UEFA cup win on Wednesday night was the culmination of a hard fought seaon for a resilient and skillful Liverpool side. Accusations of good fortune and easy rides had tainted their previous triumphs in the Worthington and FA cups, but no one could take this achievement away from them.
Gerard Houllier had impressed upon his men how much this trophy meant to him. After seeing the delight on the faces of the British players when they held the FA Cup aloft, he made it clear that that is how he felt about the UEFA cup. They did not let him down. Even as he has contributed to either the opening or closing chapters of great footballing...

Come on Liverpool
Advantages: New stadium
Disadvantages: Leaving Anfield
...I have been a Liverpool supporter for the last twenty years, since I was seven years old. Memories from the Eighties of Liverpool winning everything , championships, fa cups, league cups and european cups. Memories of the nineties of Liverpool winning nothing except the fa cup. This forthcoming season I think will be the turning point for us Liverpool fans, the squad now has depth and a manager who seems right for the job, so come on Liverpool lets shut these glory supporters of other teams up. COME ON LIVERPOOL. COME ON LIVERPOOL. YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE....
