Once upon a time, in Liverpool...
Advantages: An excellent museum dedicated to the Fab Four, suitable for all age groups
Disadvantages: Some of the headsets are a bit dodgy (it was just mine) and some displays not working
...This time during the month of Beatlemania, instead of just writing about the bands albums, films and death theories, I wanted to write about some of the ways in which Liverpool still celebrate the lives of their favourite sons (beside the football players!). Although Ringo made a few disparaging comments towards his hometown a year or two ago, the phrase ?everyone has to start somewhere? springs to mind and ? although I may be a little bias ? I would have to say that Liverpool is very much the land of opportunity compared to where I live!
Right at the heart of the city is Albert Dock, a place now surrounded by various shops, museums and even a hotel with the Echo Arena mere feet away. When I was very little, perhaps six, I remember Mummy and Daddy, as they were affectionately called back then, taking my Brother and I right near...

Liverpool Football Club
Advantages: Great squad, great fans, great manager, great history
Disadvantages: No league title for 16 years
...on 7th October 1973 in Porvoo, Finland, Sami has been a fans favourite for some time now. He began his career with Mypa back in 1992. Three years later he was on his way to Holland with Willem II after some really impressive performances. The 1998/99 season saw the Dutch outfit qualifying for the Champions League in, easily, his best season so far.
Liverpool spotted his talents and immediately set about getting their man. He signed in the summer of 1999 for £3.5 million and hasn't looked back since. Year upon year he has improved as a defender and is now held in extremely high regard. The 2000/01 season saw Sami pick up a treble with the club as they won the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup. Remarkably, Sami was not booked once, despite playing so many games.
In the August of 2001 Sami captained the club to a Charity Shield victory over...

Odeon - Liverpool's Number One
Advantages: Good sized screens, great auditoriums, caters for everyone,
Disadvantages: Popcorn sometimes cardboardy, expensive chocolate treats,
...one.
Admission prices vary from Odeon to Odeon. Even within this one branch, there's a long list of prices which vary depending on a lot of factors. I don't wish to list them all, should you wish to consult them they're listed in the Box Office and on the Odeon website, under Liverpool ONE's page. However, a few things you should know:
* Adult = 15 years or over
* Concessions are granted to under 15s, seniors and students (with a valid NUS card - although a
University ID should do the trick).
* Family tickets are available
* Children under 2 get in for free, providing they sit in your arms. If they take up a seat, you
have to pay.
* Group bookings are available
Seats can also be divided into three sections:-
* Standard
* Premier
* Gallery
I'll talk about the Gallery in more detail later. Premier seats are located in...

Liverpool in trouble
Advantages: One of the biggest clubs in Europe...
Disadvantages: ...going through their worst run in 50 years.
...Picture the scene; it's early November and after a 2-0 win against West Ham, Liverpool went seven points clear at the top of the Premiership and were striding towards a place in the next round of the Champions League, it appeared that it would have to take something very special to knock them out of their stride. Three months on and defeats to the likes of Middlesborough and Sunderland have seen Liverpool slump down the Premiership with no wins in eleven games and an early exit from the Champion League at the hands of little known Swiss club Basle. So where has it all gone wrong for the mighty reds?
Every pundit, fan and his dog has had their two pence worth. Excuses and reasons range from poor management and lack of commitment from the players, to wrong formation and wrong players. I think the problem is much simpler...

UPDATED Liverpool FC Treble winners 2001
Advantages: On their Day can Beat absolutely ANYONE
Disadvantages: Cant we just win something the easy way for once
...Oh well, I think its about time I re-wrote my opinion on Liverpool, I wrote the original opinion earlier in the season, when we where showing terrible inconsistency, but it seems this got sorted out, as we went on to win a “HISTORIC TREBLE”, by winning the Worthington Cup, The FA Cup and the U.E.F.A Cup, a fete that has never been done by any English team, and hopefully we can round off a great season on Saturday, by gaining the third Champions League place, by beating Charlton Athletic.
The Worthington cup was won in Cardiff on the 25th of February, by beating a very brave and committed Birmingham City, who took us all the way to penalties, after the match ended 1-1 after extra-time, maybe this was the warning to us Liverpool fans, that if we won this Treble, it would be at the cost of our Health and Sanity, as this was...

Lively Liverpool
Advantages: I live here
Disadvantages: Some shops aren't here, the weather
...Whether you were born here, visit or just come to study here, Liverpool will always hold a special place in your heart.
Liverpool is one of those deceptively small cities that squeeze in so much - culture, entertainment, sports, religion? There is nothing that Liverpool does not have to offer.
CULTURE:
Liverpool has several theatres - The Empire (the largest and arguably the best), The Playhouse at Williamson Square, The Neptune on Hanover Street, The Unity Theatre, the Royal Court, Everyman and of course the Philharmonic Hall - so you're guaranteed to find something to suit your tastes, whether you want a concert, musical or play. There are also 3 museums - HM Customs & Excise National Museum which is inside the Merseyside Maritime Museum at Albert Dock (you can find out the history of Customs & Excise as well as the slave...

Liverpool...good,bad,ugly
Advantages: entertainment
Disadvantages: emotional rollercoaster
...Ah,now where do i start?
The love of my life and also the bain of it too.
Liverpool fc,the colourful,famous,entertaining,boring,frustrating and all be it said,somewhat disappointing of late.A team of super talented blokes that give me an emotional rollercoaster ride year after year.
I dont expect everyone to understand the passion of football and personally over the last 30 years i have been lucky enough to follow liverpool all over europe,some would say 'waste of money' others would say 'is it that important',well in a word yes it is.
Many sports offer the same sort of passion but when all said and done i think you cant beat football for its sheer entertainment value.
This is where i believe Liverpool hold the key to giving the fans what they want most of the time.
Anfield,the home of liverpool is a stadium where no other set...

Come on Liverpool
Advantages: New stadium
Disadvantages: Leaving Anfield
...I have been a Liverpool supporter for the last twenty years, since I was seven years old. Memories from the Eighties of Liverpool winning everything , championships, fa cups, league cups and european cups. Memories of the nineties of Liverpool winning nothing except the fa cup. This forthcoming season I think will be the turning point for us Liverpool fans, the squad now has depth and a manager who seems right for the job, so come on Liverpool lets shut these glory supporters of other teams up. COME ON LIVERPOOL. COME ON LIVERPOOL. YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE....

Lively Liverpool
Advantages: Lively,exuberant,night life. Cheap food.
Disadvantages: Rainy .
...Liverpool is one of my favourite cities in the UK,as it is for the well known American born travel writer Bill Bryson. The city has a wonderful waterfront with attractive 20 th century buildings such as the Cunard Building,the Liver Birds, and then there is the lovingly restored Albert Dock,one of Britain's most popular tourist attractions.
There are architectural gems in the city such as the elegant Adelphi Hotel, the arcades, and some of the buildings in Water Street. Matthew Street has associations with the Beatles, and there is the famed Walker Art Gallery that is well worth a visit.
Liverpool has a lively night life. There are some magnificent pubs in this old maritime city such as the Philarmonic,a great favourite of the late John Lennon.Eating out opportunities are stupendous with the likes of Indian,Somali, Greek, Chinese...

Liverpool museum
Advantages: cheap day out
Disadvantages: a bit boring!
...I think the jury is still out on this one. Maybe I'm not so fussed on the liverpool museum because I visited the British museum in London last year which was excellent.
The one thing that actually annoyed me about this place too was the flights of stairs that you had to walk up to get to each floor. Although I believe that a lift is available for wheelchair access.
The rooms had some good displays but no actual facts for instance in the Greek room there where some large statues with plaques next to them. One plaque simply pointed out that the statue was of a ancient greek man! Fantastic but why? They werent original statues anyway! There was one of Zeus the greek god that was quite good.
Similar exhibitions included a display of a lion chasing an antelope. I didnt really get the whole idea of it. It was all pretty boring...
