Very Good Value For Money Lloret De Mar

Advantages: Big pool,Good Drink,nice hotel,pleasant staff,excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Awful Food

...We stayed here for 6 nights in Febuary of this year (2008) and found it to be very good value for money, and the weather was surprisingly good which was an added bonus. It was a last minute cheap gettaway I had already booked the flights with Ryanair and not decided where we were going to stay exactly, and then we decided to try lloret. We chose The Royal Beach because it was very resonably priced (£208 for 6 nights all - inclusive for two people) and it had fairly good reviews. One mistake I did make though was I had booked the hotel and flights seperate and didn't bother with transfers we just got a taxi from Girona airport to resort, this was easy enough to do but cost 50 euros each way. I found out when we got home I could have booked a transfer both ways for about £25 so could have saved quite a bit of money there...

Advantages: Beautiful place, appeals to all ages
Disadvantages: Very few

...Our family visited the resort of Lloret de mar in the Costa Brava a few years ago now and I would totally recomend it to anyone. We visited in the month of May as we like it a little cooler, a little quieter but also still with a variety of things to do. During this month the average temperature is around 70 degrees C but whilst we were there it was a little hotter than this. Getting there: We flew from East Midlands airport to the main airport of Costa Brava which is Gerona. Most airports fly here so it shouldn't be a problem getting here from other parts of the country. The flying time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and once landing there the transfere to Lloret de mar takes about 45 minutes. Bolero Apartments, Lloret de Mar.

Advantages: Cheap, great for young people and famies
Disadvantages: Access problems

...supermarket attached to the apartments. The only thing which we had a slight problem with was the huge hill the apartments are situated on. To get to the resort centre and Lloret beach, you have to walk down the hill, although it\'s not too far, it is a killer to get back up! For the less mobile and disabled, this could be a problem. There is the smaller Fenals beach nearby but this involves a large number of steps to go down to so is not really practical either. The only reason I have rated these apartments as satisfactory is because of the access issues some people may have, apart from that, they make a great base for families and young people and are inexpensive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely go back!...

Malgrat De Mar

Advantages: great for walks and very friendly.....
Disadvantages: getting used ot the coastal railway, very close to it...

...I think that Malgrat De Mar is an awesome place, I really missed out last year not going. Me and my family used to go for a month or so in the six weeks holiday and we'd meet up with my aunty who lives in Barcelona and her friends and some of the family would come over too, got a little hectic though as there were 14 people top in one flat, only 3 bedrooms lol. Malgrat is perfectly situated, and its not a far to get to eh train station. From the train station you can travel to the many more places along the coast due to it being a coastal railway. These places include places like Llorett de mar, Blanes, Canet de mar, Pineda, Calella, San Pol de mar, Arenys de mar and Tossa de mar. The beach is good to, its well kept and the sea is almost always nice apart from when the waves come but if you enjoy riding the waves in a blow up...

Caribe Hotel - Lloret - cheap but cheerful

Advantages: Cheap, friendy staff, well located
Disadvantages: Bit noisy, bathroom bit cramped

...the old town at night to enjoy more traditional restaurants and bars and avoid the ticket touts. Man they're like vermin! After being stopped 3 times in the space of 30 seconds we devised a route through the back streets just so we could get to a late night supermarket on that side! The old town of Lloret is quiet pretty though, with narrow streets and plenty of shops. There are some nice Cliffside walks too. You can have both a romantic holiday or a clubbing holiday in lloret de mar - just try and position your hotel well (north-east/central lloret old town, quiet - south-west/Fennals area (another beach at Fennals) for more larger holiday complex and modern town/clubs at central-west part of town). Great for having your possessions stolen!

Advantages: Cheap, lovely bar area, and fair amount of choice with food in dining room
Disadvantages: Literally no security, noisey area, and no professionalism used over complaints

...was about the situation! His first day as a guest there too. Found ourselves being blanked by the staff in the dining room on that same day and wouldn't even offer us a drink like they normally do, extremely unprofessional and pathetic. Barely even said goodbye to us when we checked out, its like they were glad to see the back of us. Despite being well mannered and polite to all staff everyday, it seems we were still outcast. Some positives though. Our rooms were fairly nice despite the low price. Good wash rooms with a fair amount of space, always had pure hot water every time. Cleaners did a good job, everything was sparkly when they had completed their duties with our room. Sadly though, I will never come here again, let alone Lloret. I recommend anybody to avoid this hotel like the plague. Either try another two star or go...

Coastline Holiday Resort

Advantages: Plenty to see and do. Lots of nighlife. Some good walks. Nice clean beach. Good selection of restaurants.
Disadvantages: Can get a little noisy. Beach can become over-crowded. Too many street sellers that wont take no for an answer.

Sadly going downhill year after year...

Advantages: Large choice of nightclubs/bars, massive amount of shops, and a nice beach front
Disadvantages: Very pushy sales/marketing, and now popular to 18 - 30s groups

...I've been to Lloret twice in my life. Once back in April 2003 where I had the time of my life and most recently in July 2007, which was the complete opposite for several reasons... The whole place now seems to have been marketed to many 18 - 30s groups who are definitely out for two things only, drinks and sex. Lots of trouble could be seen being caused by them and the police seemed very stressed out over these situations and didn't seem able to cope. For instance this happened in one nightclub called Bumpers in which me and my best friend were having a good time in, lots of decent people there already, friendly staff, nice music and reasonably decent priced drinks. Suddenly when we were on the dance floor, a whole bunch of rowdy 18 - 30s groups just piled in at once and changed the atmosphere to zero. It was very noticeable to see...

Against my expectations - a great holiday!

Advantages: Great nightlife, many young people from other countries, loved the beach & the sea
Disadvantages: Beach can be overcrowded, obtrusive sales people

...got a 70% discount on drinks (thanks to our travel business). Nevertheless, we had a great time - largely thanks to the fact that we were a group of 20 people - and I can absolutely recommend St. Trop, one of the biggest discos in Lloret de Mar and, surely, the one with the most likeable and funny people around. If you don't want to go out one evening, you can just sit down at the beach and relax (very nice of course, if you have someone who can play the guitar), but you should really be careful not to drink alcohol, as this is forbidden to do in public throughout Spain, and not to be too noisy, as this could provoke the Mossos d'Esquadra, Lloret's additional police (beside the Policia Local), and believe me - they aren't exactly what you would call squeamish. I know what I'm talking about, we've watched them intervening in a fight...

Tossa de Mar.. Beautiful Area, Cat Litter Beach!

Advantages: Picturesque, Hot!
Disadvantages: Quiet!

...selection of small tasty meals (sandwiches, chip butties etc) for a reasonable price (about 2.50 euros ish). Parking is quite difficult in this resort, so if you?re hiring a car for your holiday you can expect to have to walk a fair distance from your parking spot to where you?re staying generally, especially if you?re looking for free parking. There is a bus station that has buses going to Barcelona (18 euros each, return) and neighbouring Lloret De Mar (like a sunny Blackpool if I?m honest, and plenty of dodgy fake designer stuff which I wouldn?t touch with a bargepole haha). I didn?t take note of any more routes but wherever you go, expect to be going through winding high up roads that can be quite unnerving (especially in the dark) ? if you?re driving it?s definitely safer to be driving slowly and surely so as to be safe on those roads...
