Very Good Value For Money Lloret De Mar

Advantages: Big pool,Good Drink,nice hotel,pleasant staff,excellent value for money
Disadvantages: Awful Food

...We stayed here for 6 nights in Febuary of this year (2008) and found it to be very good value for money, and the weather was surprisingly good which was an added bonus. It was a last minute cheap gettaway I had already booked the flights with Ryanair and not decided where we were going to stay exactly, and then we decided to try lloret. We chose The Royal Beach because it was very resonably priced (£208 for 6 nights all - inclusive for two people) and it had fairly good reviews. One mistake I did make though was I had booked the hotel and flights seperate and didn't bother with transfers we just got a taxi from Girona airport to resort, this was easy enough to do but cost 50 euros each way. I found out when we got home I could have booked a transfer both ways for about £25 so could have saved quite a bit of money there...

Lloret de mar

Advantages: Beautiful place, appeals to all ages
Disadvantages: Very few

...Our family visited the resort of Lloret de mar in the Costa Brava a few years ago now and I would totally recomend it to anyone. We visited in the month of May as we like it a little cooler, a little quieter but also still with a variety of things to do. During this month the average temperature is around 70 degrees C but whilst we were there it was a little hotter than this. Getting there: We flew from East Midlands airport to the main airport of Costa Brava which is Gerona. Most airports fly here so it shouldn't be a problem getting here from other parts of the country. The flying time is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and once landing there the transfere to Lloret de mar takes about 45 minutes. Caribe Hotel - Lloret - cheap but cheerful

Advantages: Cheap, friendy staff, well located
Disadvantages: Bit noisy, bathroom bit cramped

...the old town at night to enjoy more traditional restaurants and bars and avoid the ticket touts. Man they're like vermin! After being stopped 3 times in the space of 30 seconds we devised a route through the back streets just so we could get to a late night supermarket on that side! The old town of Lloret is quiet pretty though, with narrow streets and plenty of shops. There are some nice Cliffside walks too. You can have both a romantic holiday or a clubbing holiday in lloret de mar - just try and position your hotel well (north-east/central lloret old town, quiet - south-west/Fennals area (another beach at Fennals) for more larger holiday complex and modern town/clubs at central-west part of town). Bolero Apartments, Lloret de Mar.

Advantages: Cheap, great for young people and famies

...Myself and my cousin stayed at these apartments in September 2007. We got moved here from the Samba hotel across the road at the last minute and when we arrived we were a little dissapointed looking at the apartments from the outside compared to the Samba but we were there and couldn\'t change it! Appearances can be deceptive and these apartments were. When you walk inside there is a large reception area with a games room, internet access (which you pay to use but is inexpensive) and pool access. The staff on reception were quite helpful and spoke good English. There are lifts and stairs so access is easy for the less mobile and people with children. The apartment we were in was quite large with one bedroom and a separate bathroom. It was pretty clean and well maintained. The only problem we had was our toaster didn\'t work which wasn...

Gran Casino Royal Hotel

Advantages: Cheap, all inclusive, large bar area
Disadvantages: Noisy, small pool area for size of Hotel

...balconies you will hear them ,believe me. You also have access to sister hotel in area, we did not use this so I can't comment on that sorry. Nor can I comment on casino joining on as kids not allowed in, hence hotel name. Overall we got what we paid for, cheap and cheerful, would personally avoid summer season as it could prove too noisy for families, this view shared by others we spoke to. Having said all this if you want a cheap get away in kids hols then you could do a lot worse, young people could use this Hotel as a base if you want cheap food and drink and somewhere to put your head in the morning after clubbing. We enjoyed the break which is what we wanted, but as I said I would avoid in Summer and certainly pay not much more for this Hotel than I did. Stay away from this dump!

Advantages: Friendly staff, and nice beach not far away. Great location for party animals.
Disadvantages: Noisy hotel all day and night. Not family friendly. Lack of sleep due to noise.

...Lloret de Mar at 05:00, we were dumped on a street corner near to the hotel, and had to make our way with 4 cases and 2 children through crowds of drunken youths, and up some crowded stairs into the hotel reception. When we got inside, and finally managed to get the receptionist (probably the rudest member of staff in the area, not just this hotel) to drag himself away from giving out a girl's room number to a drunken Dutch boy, and then phoning her room on his behalf, he told us we weren't booked in here, and that we would have to get a taxi back to the Planamar, (which we had recently driven past) as that was the hotel on our accommodation voucher. I now wish that I had done as he suggested, and got the Planamar to put us up, as that was just the start of quite a lot of hassle, and upset. Eventually he looked through a pile...

...Me and 3 friends booked 2 rooms at the Samba hotel in August 06. We booked a late deal as a flight and hotel from Teletext. We paid 450 Pounds each for all inclusive for 7 nights. When we arrived on time with our flight with Ryan air from Liverpool, who were on time and quick with luggage in Gerona airport. Crew were great and helpful,and although you dont get food or drinks with your flight they can be purchased on board. The flight lasted around 2.30 hours and when we collected our luggage we went straight to get a taxi to Lloret de Mar, The people we booked with said it was a 10 min journey and that it would cost about 20 euro in a taxi, how wrong, we waited 30 minutes for a taxi which was not so bad because there were alot of people waiting. The journey in reality took about 45 minutes and cost 75 euro! (with tip). We got out...

...I went to this hotel on the 27th march 2007 for 4 nights we stayed all inclusive, there was a small group of us with one child aged 5. I read alot of reviews about this hotel most of them very bad but it was better than expected. The room was clean and beds and towels changed daily, the hotel seemed clean too. I had heard bad things about the lifts but they were very good and looked new and clean i had planned on not using them as i am quite scared of them but since we were on the 5th floor we used them alot and never had any problems. The food was as expected bread, salad and then a few hot dishes no worse than i would expect at all inclusive hotels, it was changed regular so did not get cold food. Drinks were fairly good choice had to use plastic cups but think you do in most all inclusive. The entertainment was not any good...

Paradis Park Hotel - Definitely NOT paradise!!!!

Advantages: Able to get it last minute, nice surrounding area

...It was pure chance that we stayed at the Paradis Park Hotel in Pineda De Mar. Whilst looking for a cheap and cheerful last minute deal to get some sun I spotted a package to the Calella Palace Hotel through Teletext holidays online. After a bit of research the decision was made to book it, however, the dates we wanted weren't available. We were offered an allocation on arrival for the same price, or for an extra £45 each we could have an alternative named hotel of the same rating. Being unadventurous I opted for the latter and was given the choice of the Alexis Hotel (I had previously read reviews all of which were bad) and the Paradis Park Hotel. Great for having your possessions stolen!

Advantages: Cheap, lovely bar area, and fair amount of choice with food in dining room
Disadvantages: Literally no security, noisey area, and no professionalism used over complaints

...was about the situation! His first day as a guest there too. Found ourselves being blanked by the staff in the dining room on that same day and wouldn't even offer us a drink like they normally do, extremely unprofessional and pathetic. Barely even said goodbye to us when we checked out, its like they were glad to see the back of us. Despite being well mannered and polite to all staff everyday, it seems we were still outcast. Some positives though. Our rooms were fairly nice despite the low price. Good wash rooms with a fair amount of space, always had pure hot water every time. Cleaners did a good job, everything was sparkly when they had completed their duties with our room. Sadly though, I will never come here again, let alone Lloret. I recommend anybody to avoid this hotel like the plague. Either try another two star or go...
