...Lloyds TSB internet banking lets you manage your finances, apply for loans, credit cards, mortgages & pay off bills from home or anywhere with internet access. It seems very secure, you have a 9 digit username which is randomly given to you to prevent people guessing then you have a password which much be more than 6 digits & preferably a mix of letters & numbers. You then also have to enter your memorable information which very similar to a password therefore can be pretty much anything you want it to be as long as you can remember it! Lloyds TSB admin meltdown - is it safe to bank with them?

Advantages: good, clear website. reasonable rates and charges
Disadvantages: Poor support, no communication between departments, worrying security lapses

...Having banked with LLoyds for 27 years, I am now seriously considering whether to move my money elsewhere. Post "credit crunch" , the powers at LTSB clearly thought that, instead of looking at their own failings, they would respond to the financial crisis by shedding thousands of experienced staff doing the day-to-day admin of the bank, relying on cheaper costing minions who frankly haven`t a clue instead. In the last few weeks, LTSB have "lost" long-standing direct debits , failing to provide an explanation as to what had actually happened. (this included the one that paid off my LTSB credit card bill, with the bank charging me a late-payment fee - because I "failed to clear my bill" - ridiculous). Disadvantages: Unethical, pushy sales, poor rates

...Lloyds TSB are becoming increasingly irritating with their in-branch pushy sales tactics. What used to be a five minute visit to the bank has now become 40 minutes as they try and sell you a mortgage, credit card, loan, insurance or an up grade to your account. If I do need to go into a Lloyds TSB branch, I mentally prepare myself before entering so that I am ready to speak assertively when the cashier asks ''There is something flashing up on your account. Do you have a few moments to speak to someone about this? It could be important.'' Don't be fooled. This means they want to take you into a room to try and sell you products and you will feel very awkward about coming out of the room, 40 minutes later, without agreeing to insurance/ credit card/ mortgage. Online Banking With Lloyds TSB

Advantages: Pay bills without visiting the bank, online statements, transfer money between your accounts
Disadvantages: Statements sometimes a few days behind

...Online banking with Lloyds TSB is easy and free. To sign up, all I did was go into my nearest branch and picked up a form. Filled in the form and sent it off and within a few weeks I recieved my user ID and my password. When you log you can transfer money between your accounts and pay bills without the fuss of actually visiting the bank. View a statement online and see a list of your standing orders and direct debits. The statements maybe a few days behind the actual date but are very handy, as you can see when and where you are drawing out your money plus any money that has been credited to your account. All this for free as some banks charge you to order a statement. You can also download your statement and import it into a money program such as Quicken. Joining is pretty straight forward,you fill out an on-line form, and Lloyds TSB susequently send you a form in the post with your personal details and activation code.This is assuming that you are already a TSB customer. Lloyds TSB I have been with Lloyds TSB literally all my life, they've always seemed to be a good bank to me, they won't lend me money as it is as I've never had credit and have been a student and never had a full time job, which is good, a lot of banks don't care and will give money out to anyone regardless of whether they can pay it back or not, but I've never had this with Lloyds, the only thing with them is the charges they put on your account for an unplanned overdraft, but these unplanned overdrafts I take with Lloyds really are a godsend when my wages are short by 50 pound one month and my phone bill needs paying so I don?t mind a £25 charge for a £100 unplanned overdraft, it s when you go overdrawn by 4p that the charge is annoying!!! ...I've only been banking with Lloyds TSB for a year, but I have found their service to be exceptional in this time. I was given access to internet banking in branch when I opened my account and given my password etc at that point. By the time I logged in when I got home, it was all up and running. The log in process is pretty simple, and I would also very secure. You are given a 9 digit number which acts as your username. You then create a password (letters and digits) that you need to remember. Once past this log in screen you are taken to a screen where you have to enter 3 letters. These letters are random combinations of letters of your 'secure word' that you have selected, eg. 1st, 3rd and 7th letter etc. I have on one occasion entered these incorrectly too many time and been locked out of my online banking but this was...

Disadvantages: Possibly too easy to get your hands on the cash
