Review of Castle Lodge, Ludlow

Lovely lodges and amazing hot tubs!

Advantages: Nice lodges, fantastic hot tubs!
Disadvantages: Surrounding area not so good

.... He was very friendly, and explained that although the touring part of the park was closed for winter, the lodges are open all year round and were currently all occupied. We asked a few questions about the surrounding area and places to eat etc and he was very helpul. He explained there is a regular bus service to Edinburgh if we didn't wish to drive, and it takes around 30 mins to get there. The nearby village of Prestonpans was only a couple of minutes drive and had takeaways and a supermarket. We were hoping there might be a nice pub/ restaurant, but he couldn't recommend one, which was a bit disappointing, and we got the feeling he was trying to tell us it wasn't very nice there! Pastures Lodge, We keep going back for more!

Advantages: Great family atmosphere, play areas, good choice of food
Disadvantages: Often very busy!

...The Pastures Lodge is a family pub/restaurant that my family and I have been visiting on a regular basis for a fair few years. Its situated on Pastures Road, Mexborough which is a few miles outside of Doncaster. We live quite near to the centre of Doncaster and it takes us about 15 minutes by car to get to the Pastures. The Pastures is owned by Paul Shane of Hi-De-Hi fame and occasionally he can be spotted propping up the bar. The main reason we visit the Pastures is for a family meal out at a place where the children can let off some steam. The Pastures has an indoor play area and a smaller outdoor play area. ...The Sequoia Lodge Hotel in Disneyland Paris is a 3 key rated (out of 4 keys) hotel in the Disneyland Paris hotels list, the actual hotel is located outside Lake Disney and is really close to all the fun around the Disney Village (about a 5 mintue walk). When I arrived at this hotel on the shuttle bus to Disney from the Charles De Gaull Airport my first instinct was that the hotel was clean and tidy and seemed to have a lot of helpful staff walking around it, I also noticed the Disney Shop in the hotel (which is standard to all hotels though is very handy for picking up last minute presents and memorabilia, and also for getting the odd snack e..g. crisps and sweets and juice to bring back to your room, though the shop is quite expensive). ...The Forest Lodge Hotel was built in 1820 and was used as a hunting box by King George IV. The hotel retains much of its Georgian architecture and stands in its own grounds. It is located on the outskirts of the village of Lyndhurst in the heart of The New Forest in Hampshire. It is part of a chain of 4 hotels that come under the banner of New Forest Country House Hotels. This means that each hotel can be centrally booked and have the same cost and promotions. The guests have use of the other hotels' facilities but this is not that relevant as, even though they are all in The New Forest, they are not exactly round the corner from each other and anyway the facilities are much the same in them all. ..., family rooms and single rooms, but you would be advised to book early, especially in the tourist season, as these can book up quickly. The welcome when we arrived was pleasant and we were shown to the room, which was up a few flights of stairs. I would have been a little concerned about trying to navigate down them in a fire, and there were no obvious fire or safety instructions in the room. The room was well decorated, felt clean and tidy, and had a small en-suite bathroom in the corner. This was all as expected, and there was a kettle with a good selection of drinks, good selection of towels and shower gels (although these were rather on the cheap side). ...Hmmmmmm, not quite sure on how to do this but I would just like to write a review on using your local library services. I was a little surprised as to the area that it was in, but hey ho that is Ciao for you as they put it there supposedly! But anyway, back to the subject in mind. How do I use the library service? Well, you have to actually be a member in order to use pretty much any of the facilities that are on offer. It is usually free to join, but there are usually stipulations that you must agree to meet prior to joining: 1. That you are a permanent resident in the area that provides the service. If you live in Devon or Cornwall, then you can't use the service in Avon or Somerset. There was another similar rated hotel behind the underground station but it was reported to be very noisy and I thought a 10 minute walk from hotel to destination would be refreshing, which it was. This hotel is on a busy main road on the corner of a junction, but inside the big old building you were not really aware of this.
