A TRUE QUALITY TV

Advantages: IT ALWAYS CATCHES THE EYE

...I have owned a loewe lcd tv for about 2 years. It is fantastic. Its appearance always catches the eye of visitors. My tv has a motorised stand which means you can control the movement of the tv from your remote control or simply program the tv to turn to your desired position when turning it on. This TV does not have to be purchased with a motorised stand as you also have the option of free standing or mounting to a wall. The TVs clarity is second to none and the options available to you regarding your picture,sound, etc is excellent. The downside to this TV is that is it pricey. Including the motorised stand you are looking at about £3000. BUT i have found 'you get what you pay for' A true quality TV....

Select a bargain

Advantages: Cheap good qualtiy clothing
Disadvantages: Could do with bigger stores

...I recently discovered an excellent little shop named select. I found this little aladins cave which is packed full of low budget bargains in Rutherglen shopping centre which i usually only visit for a cafe lunch as the shops in recent years really havent been up to much but when i noticed a new shop had filled the space of one of the many vacant retail units i couldnt resist going in for a quick browse. Before i knew it i had been in the shop for more than 45 minutes and was making my way to the till with arms full of pretty summer dresses and a few other goodies. I purchased three dresses to wear over leggings. The best HD LCD I could find

Advantages: Quality, performance, looks
Disadvantages: Cost, ideally more HDMI interfaces

...I went (window) shopping for a Sony plasma TV and came home with a Loewe LCD. Compared with the Sony/Pioneer/Philips and JVC models on offer I felt the Individual 32 had the sharpest picture, displayed the greatest amount of detail and produced the best sound amongst the 20 or so available. Specifically it shows amazing levels of detail during dark scenes - even better than the Philips Plasma they had in store! The special offer in House of Fraser that day made the TV irresistible. The initial setup is easy, and It has built in freeview, connecting it up to Sky HD via HDMI is a doddle, however a second HD source can only connect via the component connectors. Cadburys Christmas Selection Boxes

Advantages: Here we go chocolate again
Disadvantages: overpriced

...Well this one had to be a bit on the festive side and today I went to bingo and won £50 and a mountain of selection boxes. Now these are a treat as I do not normally buy them now as all my friends kids are all grown up, but secretly I do like to get one or two. The Cadburys 99p section box is the one I am going to write about, however you can get larger ones that go up to around £5 and if you look out for the £2.99 ones you can normally buy two for a £5. Bargain eh, well lets take a look. The Packing = A very pretty tin foiled packet measuring around 12 inches by 8 inches. The writing is in gold and says Cadbury and in red it has selection. ...I was saying to my best friend that we need some good clothes shops for women in our area. We live in a small town with not a great variety of shops, the one store we usually went to was peacocks but i think they have started to go down hill a little bit,there clothes tend to look cheap. To our suprise the following week a new shop was to open and of course it was select , i was so excited i love to shop and it was local what more could i ask for. Select your favourite clothes at a low price

Advantages: Good clothes for the prices
Disadvantages: The rails and the changing rooms

...As I walk along the busy highstreet of Weston-super-Mare, Select cathes my eye with the big sale signs in the window. I instantly think ahhh plenty of bargins so I find myself trying to weave myself though the crowds and eventually I have reached the shop. I'm standing in the doorway of Select scanning the shop with my eyes deciding in which direction to head. The shop looks crammed with people and the clothes rails look quite close together so the layout to me isn't very pleasing. Oh well, I think to myself shall I risk getting squashed or shall I leave the gorgeous jeans to my right. Of course the first option sounds good so I take a deep breath and squeeze myself over to the jeans. Select and Protect Home Insurance

Advantages: First class service
Disadvantages: Need to use Google to find one of their agents call back service.

...I had heard of this insurance company through a friend of mine who came back off holiday to find her terraced house flooded by a burst pipe. She had her home insurance with Select and Protect and phoned them with the news. They financed a new underground pipe to be put in place and paid for the replacement (new for old) of her damaged furniture etc. She was so pleased with their response, and especially the speed at which they reacted that she felt honour bound to recommend them. So i used them for my landlords insurance. Glad i did! A few months ago, the upstairs emmersion heater sprung a leak and emptied itself thought the living room ceiling and soaked anything in its path. I now have a new ceiling and carpets and my tenatns have new furniture and enjoyed two nights in a hotel while the house was dried out using dehumidifiers...

Yummy Cadburys biscuit selection

Advantages: Good quality, no skimping on chocolate.
Disadvantages: Pack no big enough, less of the best biscuits. a bit expensive

...If you’re a biscuit lover like me you may have tried every biscuit under the sun, but the quality biscuits always win out. Fare enough the plain old digestive is good for that hunger pang on the move, but the selection of biscuits I’m reviewing here are your more should I say “High class” those sort of biscuits you’d buy if your mum was coming round for a cuppa. You would maybe buy these for a special occasion or if you felt like having a treat but didn’t want sweets. The price is relatively high but there seems to be no expense spared, they are what you would maybe call posh or higher quality biscuits. Slazenger V500 Select Cricket Bat

Advantages: Brilliant middle, nice design
Disadvantages: None as yet

...After finishing my first season at my local cricket club with no cricket bat of my own, I decided it was about time to buy my own. After lots of recommendations about different bats I decided to go to the sports store and find out more. Thats when I stumbled upon an end of season price for the Slazenger V500 Select of £30. Usually this particular bat is £70. I plumped for the Short handle (mainly because it was the only one left in the shop!!). I wasn't disappointed. The bat didn't need 'knocking in' due to the protective cover over the front so I was straight in the Winter Nets with it. After a few overs getting used to the bat, I found the middle quite easily. The middle of this bat is not for the faint hearted!! A nice cover drive saw the ball hurtling THROUGH the bottom of the net and towards the far corner of the room...

Selective cleaning

Advantages: Lovely fragrance
Disadvantages: Does not clean your hair

...I used to use Salon Selectives as a teenager so when I saw it recently in my local Wizard store (a Pound shop) I snatched it up. I rushed home with a bottle each of shampoo and conditioner in my hot little hands. Imagine my disappointment when I realised that the products have changed beyond all recognition. Let me put it simply, apart from adding a delicious fragrance to your hair, they simply don't work. But I'm getting ahead of myself. *Appearance* Salon Selectives shampoo can still be found in bright pink plastic bottles with the words Salon Selectives in large white letters across the front. In fact I feel that its appearance is looking rather dated, a little too 80s perhaps, when compared to the rather sleek and sophisticated and altogether less in your face design of toiletry packaging these days.
