...I got myself a copy of Dragon NaturallySpeaking, a piece of voice recognition software I have reviewed. Using my desktop microphone to input text was inefficient and IRRITATING because it picked up background noises easily, thought they were words and was not picking up what I saying very well. I kept reading that I should be using an approved noise cancelling headset with the voice recognition software so that was it, I had decided to get a headset. I went hunting on eBay and found the 'Logitech Internet Chat Headset' up for bid but it was "refurbished" and you do not get all the bits like you would with a new one so I looked elsewhere for it. ...I needed a headset with a microphone for the PC, as I intended to start making VoIP calls on my PC and to chat with my friends on MSN. So I decided to purchase the Logitech Internet Chat Headset. I wanted a headset that was lightweight; I didn't want anything bulky, but wanted something that had good sound quality. I looked around a few shops and the headsets I came across looked cheap and nasty, or were really expensive. I decided to browse through the Internet and see what I could find; again I kept finding loads of really pricey headsets (some were around the £50 mark, a lot more than I wanted to spend). Then I came across a review for this particular headset on this site and I was sold (thanks Deru). ...I bought these headphones for use with my Play Station 3 since I broke my only other USB headset. When they arrived I plugged them into my Play Station 3 and my computer (Windows Vista Ultimate) and they were recognised straight away. One of thing I noticed when I first got this headset is that the ear pieces are a lot smaller than the ones on my old headset which was also Logitech (forgotten the name). Like most headsets the size is adjustable so it can fit any normal sized head. The sound quality through the microphone is really good and it doesn't pick up deep breathing sound like my old headset. ...I use MSN Messenger a lot to chat to friends and got this webcam so I can see me friends whilst I chat to them. This cam seemed to be the best option as it was heap and I wasn't looking for the best one, just a cam I could use for fun. The webcam connects to the computer via a USB port so it's easy to plug in and out. The cable connecting the webcam and computer is long which is good for making videos or placeing the camera far away from the computer. The cam sits in a stand which allows the camera to rotate and look up or down. This helps if it sits on an angle and you want a straight picture. The cam can also be taken off the stand and held for making films. There is a button on top of the cam so pictures can be taken instantly from the cam instead of having to click on-screen. ...This camera is everything you could expect form a £15-20 camera, it is small, simple to use, average quality and excellent value for money. However, like nearly all electrical equipment, it has good aspects and bad ones! The bad ones are, the picture quality and the microphone. The problem with the picture quality is expected, as it is a cheap camera, but dont expect briliant, crystal clear picture quality, it is easily good enough for chatting with on msn etc. but thats about it! Also the microphone is a bit too 'hidden' you need to talk quite loudly for it to pick you up, and if you have it nearer to your speakers than to you, it tends to pick up your music more, i use my headset microphone which i find a lot more convenient and better quality! The installation process was really easy - if I say it's easy, believe me, it's easy, I'm such a technophobe!! I put the installation disc into our PC and followed all the prompts, attached the camera on top of the computer screen, using the supplied flatpanel clip and the webcam was up and running before I could say cheese. We had fun with the webcam, took some pictures, made some short videos with voice messages, we even attached some to emails and sent them to friends. We were really enjoying our new toy!
