...My somewhat ancient Microsoft Internet keyboard and mouse are starting to get a bit long in the tooth. The mouse's ball has gone a bit strange and the keyboard is looking rather grubby and being wired rather than wireless, sometimes gets caught up as I move it about. It was upgrade time. The replacement of choice turned out to be the Logitech Cordless Desktop 510. The Logitech Cordless Desktop S510 consists of three items, the keyboard, mouse and wireless transmitter plus of course the driver CD. OK, four items. The Logitech Cordless S510 keyboard's main selling point is its slim profile - around 1cm and this is why I bought it - it looks really, really sexy. A well laid out keyboard

Advantages: Comfortable for a normal layout keyboard, silent
Disadvantages: Required software installation to work under Windows XP

...I have recently bought the Logitech Wave cordless set, and I can say it's a big leap forwards for qwerty keyboards in terms of comfort and functionality. It's a comfortable keyboard for those who do not want to take the time to learn a new layout. Frankly, I was about to buy a true ergonomic keyboard, one of those with seemingly weird layouts, since this one doesn't look all that different from normal keyboards, but the media keys won me over, and I'm glad they did. This thing is truly comfortable. I first tested the set under the Ubuntu 7.04 OS. It worked right out of the box, but obviously the media keys aren't configured to do anything. I'll check what signal they send to the pc and use beryl to execute proper actions. Shouldn't be too hard. Installing it under Windows XP required a software installation. Don't be put off by the jibberish that is coming from the keyboard at the moment it doesn't come with it! Only recently have I discovered the true power of the keyboard, I usually ignore all the buttons at the top thinking they're just there to look nice, but they're quite handy. ...My previous keyboards were all wired so not only is this is my first wireless keyboard and mouse set but its also my first logitech keyboard and mouse. I love how the keys feel when I type and all the shortcut buttons are well located. I did not install the software that came with it as 90% of the shortcuts work without the software (only the Function keys don't), and that's enough for me. However it looks relatively simple to install. The mouse buttons are acceptable. However, the mouse scroll wheel sounds like a carnival prize wheel. It clatters rather badly but it can be fixed. Pop off the mouse lid, take out the batteries and unscrew the two two visible screws. Pull the top portion of the mouse case back. I sometimes get cold, and my laptop is by my bed, so instead of getting up and being cold, I get under the covers and just take the keyboard and put it on top. It is very, very, very convenient.. And my mouse pad it kind of slippery, so the mouse slides off sometimes, but there still aren't any scratches or other damages done to it yet. It's amazing.And, if you're super lazy, (no offense anyone) there is a mouse on the keyboard. You can just change the settings in the Control Panel. The mouse uses arrows. ...I purchased this from Tesco Direct for £22.50 but had to buy an extra item to make it up to £25 so I could get free delivery. I bought batteries but according to the Logitech description of this desktop set and the inclusion of batteries in the box, I shouldn't need them for at least six months.....we'll see :) First of all, the product is packaged well and the clear plastic lets you see the product before buying. Included in the box is a quick set-up guide and a disc with the Setpoint software on it. First thing to do is insert the batteries and then plug in the USB receiver.
