They are therefore a brand name you can trust - and for once logitech appear to have a made a reasonably priced product for once. However, these sleek black PC multimedia speakers do have a couple of drawbacks. This speaker system comprises of no more than 2 speakers, so you can forget surround sound - especially since they are only equipped with a 4ft audio cable, making it extremely difficult to set the speakers up as far apart from each other as most Logitech consumers would like - having said that this is a problem most of their speakers have. From their first set of speakers many years ago (which I believe I owned) to models such as the huge, recent surround sound systems currently available, Logitech has always offered unprecendented quality and competitive pricing. The S100s came in a rather inconspicuous brown box, packed in nice and neatly, and of course sealed with plastic bags. Once out the box, you can immediately see the value you are getting. I paid £7.99 for my set, and in this day and age for that you either get two McDonald's meals, a cinema ticket, or these babies. I know which one I would pick! The blue LED power indicator was the first thing that struck me as a great touch. The headphone socket shows that Logitech is thinking about functionality aswell as just looks, and the nice long cables ensure...

Logitech's S2 50, a logical choice

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful. Compact and attractive design.
Disadvantages: Average quality sound. Will not do a high range soundcard justice.

...As a general rule my with hardware components, they are only replaced when their precedesscors finally give up the ghost. A while back one ofmy ancient (circa 2000) biege speakers stopped working, the other soon followed suit. Being absolutely broke at the time, I waited speakerless for awhile before receiving these Logitech S2 50 speakers as a gift. Having had a Logitech branded product prematurely break on me before I wasn't too confident these speakers would last long. I wasn't told of the price at the time but I would put a conservative estimate at them costing around 8 pounds, going solely by a price quote here on Ciao. Upon receiving the S2 50 I was struck by the extremely convenient design, my old speakers were a heck of a lot larger and cylindrical in shape, in the past they've just been situated either side of my monitor...

Very Impressed with Logitech Z4s

Advantages: Great Sound, Nice Design, Handy Separate Controller

...I've always been a little sceptical about spending money on 2.1 speaker systems - coming from a Musical Background and being trained in Music Technology means that I'm rather picky. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by this offering from Logitech. The sound is crisp and even, with a healthy amount of Mid Frequency which is often a "gray area" on cheaper 2.1 systems. The sub works well too - the independent bass volume control on the handy volume/power/input/control thing is definitely a bonus. Another handy feature is the extra input on the controller, which is particularly useful if you don't fancy burrowing behind the sub to access the main input socket, or if you find that your input cable is just that little bit too short! The only problem I've found so far is that the Sub woofer is hardly "portable"!! Also, the sleek shiny...

I was looking for new speakers for my laptop but then I decided I wanted more than just speakers and started searching through the lists of 2.1 and 5.1 sound systems. Originally I was about to buy a 5.1, but I realized such a set wouldn't be smart for a laptop which I wanna carry around and have it now on my desk, then on my bed, then on the floor etc, for which a 5.1 felt too much of cables and mass. I'm happy about my decision since the Logitech X-230 has proven to live up to the expectations based on what they promise, the sound is clear, full and I find it great for both music, games or movies. Disadvantages: Satillites feel light

...and satellite units look very stylish and modern with the silver and black colours each printed with Logitech's logo meaning you are getting a quality product. However the only problem i have with this speaker system is with the satellite units. They feel very light weight. The cords attached to them feel like they are going to drag them off my desktop. This has happened once or twice, but they are sturdy and withstand the fall. Highly recommend these speakers if you are on a budget, but go for better sound system like 5.1 if you can afford!...
