...I’ve just bought myself a new mouse, I broke mine last night while I was in a bit of a temper with the poor old PC, so decided I had to get myself a new one instead of putting up with the numerous spares I have lying around the loft floor (yes our lofts got a floor, wow!). My old mouse had done me proud, well as proud as a mouse can do someone for a good 3 years so decided to stick with the Logitech name, plus, as you’ll have noticed if you read my keyboard opinion, I like Logitech anyway. I had a look round the website (www.logitech.com) and gasped at the prices. I don’t want anything to high tech, I don’t need vibrating mice, I don’t really need a cordless one, I’m always sitting at my desk, all I want it a wheel and something that feels nice in my hand (heyyy, get your mind out of the gutters... Advantages: USEFUL FEATURES, BATTERY LIFE, SMOOTH PRECISE OPERATION
Disadvantages: FRICTIONLESS SCROLL WHEEL IS NOT VERY LONG LASTING

...UPDATE ~~~~~~~~ THE MOUSE'S FREESPIN FUNCTION STOPPED WORKING (BASICALLY THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SCROLL WHEEL, I.E. IT HAD LOST ITS FRICTIONLESS OPERATION). I CONTACTED LOGITECH WHO FIRST ASKED ME TO RE-INSTALL THE SOFTWARE (THIS MADE NO DIFFERENCE) THEY THEN SENT ME OUT A BRAND NEW MOUSE, CHARGER, RECEIVER ETC. I HAVE GOT TO SAY THAT THE LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I RECEIVED FROM LOGITECH WAS OUTSTANDING. I JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE USEFUL FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS TO GET AN INSIGHT INTO LOGITECH'S CUSTOMER SERVICE, JUST IN CASE THEY EVER NEED TO USE IT. ALSO THE NEW MOUSE SCROLL WHEEL FEELS DIFFERENT (BETTER, MORE ROBUST) TO THE FIRST MOUSE SCROLL WHEEL WHEN THIS ONE WAS NEW. TO UPDATE FURTHER ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The replacement mouse I mentioned above has also developed the same fault in just 3 months... Read review

Advantages: Wire Free Mouse. Dropped in price of late. Battery life is good.
Disadvantages: Superceded by wirefree and optical mice.

...After buying one of these mice as a Christmas present in ’99, I soon decided I needed one for my own screen gratification. Packaged in a sexy, predominantly green box, the Logitech cordless wheel mouse was available back then from most retailers at around the £25.00 mark. Given that optical mouse technology has come to the forefront and dropped a lot in price, you can pick up a cordless wheel-mouse for not much more than £15, whereas an optical (one without a ball) device, is around £25 or more. It's a standard shape mouse, which feels nice in the hand, but is not overtly shaped differently to supposedly offer ergonomic treats! The Logitech device here was advanced when I got mine, and whilst not the newest piece of kit around today, it certainly isn’t ‘standard-issue’ on most new machines! ....99 is a much nicer mouse than the Microsoft alternative. This is found was too large for my hand (not having particularly large hands) and the wheel to scroll with was not as smooth as with the Logitech. It doesn't even come close to match the looks of the Logitech Wheel Mouse Optical. Online prices do differ quite a lot. Dabs.com currently have it priced at £22.32 + p&p however this is only £2, so its a bargain online! It works on all modern operating systems since Microsft Windows '95 and also works with Apple computers too (MacOS 8.6 or later). Installing on my computer was easy via the cd in the box. It allows you to choose multiple options for example, when u click the wheel, what do you want it to do. It can either bring up a small control to brose the web 'easier' or to allow u to have a super fast scroll (ideal for large documents... Read review

...I first encounter this model of mouse about 12 months ago, I have always been impressed with Logitech and this mouse was no exception. I work in IT support and have come across loads of different mice in my time, and this one landed on my desk one day from the health and safety manager, along with 2 others. I was asked to fit each one in turn to an individuals PC until they found one they liked using. I decided to leave the cordless one until last, and to my delight the second mouse did the job. The Logitech sat under my desk for a few months and I forgot all about it, until one day my mouse was playing up and I decided that instead of walking 4 yards to where all the other mice were kept that I would make use of this brand new cordless mouse.
