Logitech G5 Laser Mouse - Perfect for gamers!

Advantages: Very comfortable grip, extremely smooth across the mouse mat
Disadvantages: May be considered expensive to some - but not if you want a great mouse!

...I bought this mouse about 2 years ago to replace my age-old wireless MicroSoft mouse, which was finally biting the dust after a lengthy life in service. I chose this mouse over the (at the time) over the Logitech MX 518 because of the added benefits of having a high DPI laser mouse for gaming. The weight of the mouse is customisable by means of inserting small (4.5g and 1.7g) weights into a neat little cartridge that lives underneath the mouse. This was one of the best things with this mouse as it allowed me to keep the same weight and feel of my old wireless one - very handy not having to get used to another mouse again! The software that comes on CD is easy to install and use. It allows you to set 5 different DPI settings (changeable from the mouse) as opposed to the 3 default ones if you don't install the software...

I've had the mouse for about 3 months now but am still a bit unsure of what to do with the weights. I've put a few in, taken 'em out, put 'em back again and I just can't tell the difference... I'm probably a klutz. I love the textured finish and as a right-hander everything falls into place perfectly but feel sorry for the left-handers out there who'd like to use one. No problems using it, it does exactly what I expect of it and more, the software works perfectly and is easy to use. Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse VS Microsoft

The microsfot though has a custom function which is a zoom control so that you can zoom in increasingly closer to your work with a dedicated control (albeit one set of the button controls) however, this can also be achieved with the Logitech as well. Programming the button in the software is easy on both mice and should produce no problems to anyone who is capable of using the programs that would benefit from them. Because both mice are wireless, they need synchronising with their base units which in turn are connected to the computer via USB cable. Because the Logitech has its own little neat cradle, the synch button is just below where the mouse sits. You press the button on the cradle and then press the small button underneath the mouse and hey presto, its done. I found this rarely needed doing on the Logitech...

The thing I like most about it is the size of it its only about 10 centimetres the wireless USB receiver is only about 5 if that. Furthermore, the mouse is particularly clever about knowing when it needs to turn itself off or on, maximising its battery life. ...So, i bought the Targus AWM14EU mouse about 2 weeks ago. My experience has been good, though the "user interface" is a bit off. The sensitivity is good and I like big mice due to the grip. Also, the main buttons work fine and accurate. But, the scrollwheel is a bit loose and so are the browsing buttons under near your thumb. On the user manual, it states that you should charge the batteries for at least 8 hour for best performance. Do so, because, I charged it for 6 hours and ended up with 2 weeks of battery life. Also, it should have an on-off switch for transportation. And it looses contact to the computer, when you acciadently smash it. But smash it again and it will work , and it lags when you move it. Use at your own desire...
