Loveable LOMO

Advantages: Different quality to pictures, easy to use
Disadvantages: Not for professionals

...I discovered the LC-A after seeing a spread in a magazine on this much loved little camera. What attracted me was the colours in the photos and the rather cavalier method of taking pictures - people's elbows, blurred ceilings, awkward shots of the sky, everything seemed to look beautiful. So I rushed down to the 'Lomo embassy' (a tiny shop in Farringdon), every spare inch of the wall was plastered with photos I assume taken by lomo devotees from around the planet. At the time I bought it, it was about 75-80 quid, which at the time I thought was a little pricey, but there's nothing around quite like it. I got a little box containing film, instructions, a book, and signed up to the 'club' (so you get letters and emails about new products and events). Stunning camera

...SERIOUSLY, BUY ME! This camera is the best ever. A few years ago I stumbled on Lomography, and since then, I have started collecting the cameras and taking millions of pictures. This is a standard 35mm film camera, cheap plastic casing, making pictures as random as stunning. However the built in fisheye lens distorts the vision, making look as if you were in a fish bowl. Close up elements look much bigger, and things in the distance shrink. Close up pictures of faces with this camera are the best: the nose is blown up, it's amazing. The lens is a very high quality russian glass lens, allowing great quality pictures. No joking, buying this will get you hooked to a new hobby and you will enter a new world, Lomography!...

A wonderful camera

...What is lomography? For a back story you can go to www.lomography.com, but basially it all developed from a little camera developed in Russia called the Lomo Kompact Automat. This camera was unique in that it had a very sharp lens and high light sensitivity, which produces an array of fabulously different photographs. The lomography society was born and from that came a number of "toy" cameras. The word "toy" does not refer to an inferior product, but implies the fun that can be had with these cameras. The company specialise in manufacturing Camera bags, Binoculars, Tripods and Cases for guns to name a few products. The companies customers include major Camera manufacturers. vanguard Camera Case for a Camera case it is a low priced entry level Camera Case used to hold, store and allow the user to move around with a Camera inside the Pouch. The Camera Case is black coloured throughout. The Case has the Vanguard's logo encased on the closing part of the Pouch. Also the material is polyester and I suppose that it is good that it is not made from leather as the leather in the summer weather reacts to the heat. ...A few months ago I was strolling through Bristol when I came across a shop selling a collection of kitsch goodies and two camera's that were slightly out of place. One of them was a LOMO. I saw the examples of the photographs and spent a very worthwhile £50. It is the ultimate old school Russian camera. Small black, communist and tankline it seems fairly indestructible, though it's not something I've tested extensively. It comes in a nice old fashioned cardboard box. Inside a couple of rolls of film, instruction booklet and the camera. The instruction booklet, probably useful if you can speak Russian but for the rest of us it is just a showcase for the capabilities of the camera as many photographers display their work.
