This poster print features Camille Pissarro's The Boulevard Montmartre at Night.Towards the end of his life Pissarro increasingly turned to the representation of town scenes in Paris - Rouen - Dieppe - Le Havre and London - mainly painted from the windows of hotels and apartments. In February 1897 he took a room in Paris at the Hôtel de Russie on the corner of the Boulevard des Italiens and the Rue Drouot - and produced a series of paintings of the Boulevard Montmartre at different times of the day. This painting is the only night scene from this series - and is a masterful rendition of the play of lights on dark and wet streets. Pissarro neither signed nor exhibited it during his lifetime.About this paintingThe Boulevard Montmartre at Night - 1897Oil on canvas - 53.3 x 64.8 cmThe National Gallery London - Bought - Courtauld Fund - 1925This poster has a classic white border - the artist's name and the National Gallery logo at the bottom.

Status: New - London's Clerkenwell is a model of modern European urban renaissance. New loft conversions, stylish apartments and creative studios are to be found in renovated and restored historic buildings, while a vibrant night life and leisure economy has attracted a growing number of young, professional new residents. Yet, only 30 years ago, Clerkenwell was an industrial area in decline. What factors lie behind the changes? And what have been their effects? Alan Ainsworth"s new book, Clerkenwell: Change and Renewal, addresses these questions for the first time. A concise survey of Clerkenwell's history brings to light forces which have played a decisive part in the development of the area right up to the present day. Over nearly nine hundred years, Clerkenwell is shown to have been an area in change, and the recent renaissance is the latest example of the way in which the area has adapted to change. A distinctive feature of the book is the way it combines this analysis with stunning original photographs of Clerkenwell today. The people, the streets and the architecture are creatively captured and round out the portrait of an area in transition. This book will appeal to students of history and urban development, planners and conservationists as well as the general reader interested in London's rich diversity, history and contemporary renaissance.

We use "marine grade" Stainless Steel, which means no rusting now or in the future and when you buy a Byretech product, it won't sag thanks to the quality of the tube and the substantial wall fixings in the kit. All of the components that go into the manufacture of this product are top quality, even the brackets and screws are 100% Stainless Steel. The brackets all have three screws to fix them in place and once they are up, they stay there. We use "Thorseman" the industry leader in raw plug fixing technology too, to make sure that you have the best product to secure your rail. Once the rail is in place, the tube is held firm by a minimum of two grub screws on each bracket, which means it stays solid when installed. Byretech rails can be found in all sorts of bathroom settings from the Chic hotels of London and Monaco to the smallest of studio apartments, but one thing is common to all, they all look fabulous now and will continue to do so into the future.
