LONDON'S CALLING
Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Views from room
...eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Our meal for two with drinks cost £29)
Hotel: the hotel it situated in the Strand which is in central London and easy to walk to theatres such as the Aldwych, Lyceum, and many more. Come out the front of the hotel and turn right, and you?ll be heading towards Trafalgar square with Nelson, bear left and you...

LONDON BRIDGE IS FALLING DOWN
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...step ahead of Cross and the FBI there was a feeling of inevitability that he would not be captured and stopped in time. Maybe, just maybe though, the Wolfs penchant for blowing up famous bridges might just prove to be his undoing.
?People ought to feel comfortable going about their lives, knowing that their government is doing everything humanly possible to disrupt any potential activity that the evil ones may try to inflict upon us.?
London Bridges marks the seventh outing for Alex Cross and our hero has still got what it takes to keep the reader turning the pages in eager anticipation. The beauty of this book is that it can be picked up and enjoyed either by a die hard fan of James Patterson?s Alex Cross series or a complete newcomer to the collection, there is just the right level of information at the beginning of the book to...

Apex City of London Hotel - outstanding
Advantages: Lovely staff, beautiful rooms, modern hotel
Disadvantages: Slightly out of the way of the West End
...We wanted to stay somewhere in central London that was value for money, and found this brilliant hotel for only £69 per night. We booked directly with the hotel itself, and while the system can be a little frustrating the transaction went through smoothly. This was in December 2008, so we didn't expect any decent hotels so close to Christmas to be so cheap. While this hotel is a little out of the way of main attractions it is close to the Tower of London, and to Tower Bridge and easily accessible by bus and tube. On arriving by tube, we found the hotel was alittle bit tricky to find, and were saved only by the fact that by boyfriend's phone has sat-nav!
On arriving we were greeted by friendly and efficeint staff. The entrance to the hotel was modern and swish, befitting a four star hotel with marble and stainless tell everywhere...

A Little Gem in London
Advantages: Right in the hub of things with good transport links
Disadvantages: A little on the expensive side?
...We first stayed at the London Bridge Hotel on the recommendation of Great Rail Journeys as an overnight stop before travelling on Eurostar from Waterloo. Today, with Eurostar having moved to St Pancras the London Bridge Hotel is no longer used by Great Rail Journeys but it is now our first choice for accommodation if we are in London to see a West End Show.
The hotel is right in the hub of things but when you step through the door you are in a different world. A world of cheerful and polite staff that do everything to make your stay a special occasion.
The rooms are beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean with robes and slippers in the wardrobe for your personal use.
The hotel offers an evening meal and if you are wanting to go to the theatre they can offer an early mealtime so that you can eat at leisure before going...

Stranded in London!
Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey
..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned.
Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...

Superb London Budget Hotel
Advantages: Beautiful setting in a buzzing part of London
Disadvantages: Not suitable for disabled people - no lift
...The Ashley Hotel is a superb, well-priced B&B hotel in a gorgeous location in central London. It is situated in Norfolk Square, Paddington, and is just 2 minutes walk from Paddington station.
Paddington itself is a buzzing district of London adjacent to the West End, and is packed full of shops, restaurants, bars etc. Norfolk Square is an oasis of tranquility amongst this. It is a square (obviously) of tall, elegant Victorian mansions, all of which have been turned into budget hotels.
The hotels are painted white and cream, and have tall windows and beautiful old railings outside. In the centre of them all is a railed garden. Obviously, it was once a place of residence for people of means in the Upstairs-Downstairs tradition. The Ashley Hotel comprises 3 mansions made into one, and has 50 (I think) rooms.
The reception is...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Victoria Park Plaza Hotel, London It's More Than A Hotel!
Advantages: Pleasant Staff, Good Customer Service, Nice Breakfast
Disadvantages: Expensive
...The Victoria Park Plaza in London is an amazing hotel that has very comfortable, quality rooms and staff who are friendly and professional. The best thing about The Victoria Park Plaza is that it is in a prime position just two minutes from Victoria Station and an easy walk to some of London's main attractions. I found it perfect for shopping and buying souvenirs. There were also quite a number of restaurants close by and my mum who cannot walk far didn't complain once. Although we ate at the hotel we also sampled London's China Town.
It is a four star hotel and lives up to the standard. It is situated close to Buckingham Palace, Harrods, Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament. The hotel does not allow smoking anywhere near the building which my mum and I really appreciated because we are both none smokers. The smoking ban made...

London Bridge Is Standing Strong In America
Advantages: Beautiful area, lovely to stroll around
Disadvantages: None
...***Background***
Having left the Wild West town of Oatman, we headed down the old route 66 until it joined on to Route 95. This was a beautiful section of road and we thoroughly enjoyed this historic road especially as it took us past the lovely Topock Bay. Turning on to London Bridge Road just past Lake Havasu Airport is the best road into this lovely town, as it takes you right down the lakeside and gives you a chance to explore this area a little bit before heading into the main attraction of London Bridge.
Lake Havasu City is in Arizona but only around 5 miles from the Californian Border. The Lake is part of the Colorado River although this section was much prettier than the muddy waters that we had seen around the Canyon area. The Lake was formed when Parker Dam was built in the 1930's and is a haven for wildlife around...

London Bridges
Advantages: Quick and easy read
Disadvantages: Disappointing and abrupt end
...?s home. To prevent the bombings and murders Alex and the FBI must pay an improbable amount somewhat over a billion dollars and release a number of political prisoners, if that wasn?t bad enough to prove that he is serious, the Wolf engineers the annihilation of a small desert town, evacuating first to prevent casualties. When this doesn?t get the point across, he blows up the Queensboro Bridge in New York and a bridge in Paris.
Like any Cross novel the story follows the case and Alex as he chases numerous leads to a dead end, with numerous partners from the United States and various other countries, he desperately works to find the Wolf before their deadline expires and thousand of people die.
With the incredibly short chapters (very few are over two pages) and simplistic writing, the book is a quick and easy read, like any Patterson novel...
