The London Eye
Advantages: fantastic views of london
Disadvantages: long queues, over in 30mins
...later in the evening; less busy and you get magnificent views of the sunset over London. When we went we purchased the standard adult tickets for £15.00 each, this basically means you have to queue for a little while, but it is possible to buy a fast track ticket. These cost £25.00 per person and allow you to check-in just 15mins before you're allotted flight time, hence avoiding the queues, however I don't really think it is worth the extra money.
If anybody feels they would like to go and are worried because they are afraid of heights or the speed that the capsules move around the giant wheel then they need not worry. The London eye is perfectly safe, you don't even realise you are moving because it moves so slowly and before you know it you are almost at the top. It definitely is worth a visit.

Disadvantages: Lack of time
...Years Day 10am -8pm

The Website:-
Very easy to navigate your way around and book and buy booking online you beat the queues and can go straight onto the capsule. Group bookings for 15 or more passengers have to be booked over the telephone with London Eye or any disbled passengers also need to book on the dedicated phone number 0870 5000 600.

The online booking site is powered by Rialto which is one of the major ticketing sites and is also used to power Alton Towers Ticket sales, amazing what you take note of when you book!!
The booking process offers you the most popular and lowest priced option first and gradually increase to the most expensive option.

...London Eye
I went on the London on the second day I was staying in London. I got on it free because I was with Golden Tours. But I went on it the next day with other members of my family. LONDON'S EYE ON LONDON
Advantages: Great experience, great views, not too busy now.
Disadvantages: A bit pricey, Can be quite warm on a Hot day
...? Londoneye.com.
They were doing a special offer on prices if you booked over the Internet. 10% off. So for our Family of 2 Adults & 2 Children it cost us £39. I thought that this was a fairly reasonable price for a London Attraction, as it did last over 30 Minutes. So we booked the Tickets which we were able to pick up at the Ticket Office right outside the London Eye the very next day. We only had to queue for 5 minutes for the tickets.
Anyway, here for some more details.
*HOW TO GET THERE*
This is how we got there. I am not a travel expert and I'm sure most of you know how to get to London know.
We arrived at Paddington Train Station via the Great Western Train which came in from Slough. We had got a Travel Card from Slough which cost about £20 for the 4 of us. As usual the Trains were packed, but then this was on a weekday at 9...

A BIRDS EYE VIEW OF HODGEPODGE LONDON BUILDINGS
Advantages: A high view very well run.
Disadvantages: Pods are sprayed with something that can be a bit offputting
...Last Thursday we took Chloe our nine year old Grand-daughter for the day to London, one of her items on her list of things she wanted to see was "THE BIG WHEEL".
We booked tickets online about a week before our trip, the site was quite easy to use.
Selected the Date and then a time slot 16:00, as it said the "FLIGHT" was about 30 mins this would allow us 90 mins to get back to St Pancras fro the 17:55 back to Nottingham.
What I could not understand about the options was the 15 Min Slot which had a price tag of £25 per person no reduction for for children which would have meant £75. I could not see the large benifit so just opted for the 16:00 slot at I think including a Flight Pack for Chloe £40, for the 3 of us.
We had a good day, A visit to Buckingham Palace State rooms for Nana and Chloe at 12:00 which lasted until 14...

A Big Eye On London
Advantages: Great Views Of The Capital
Disadvantages: Can Be A Long Wait, Pricey
...Isn't It Just A Huge Ferris Wheel?
Yes, in one way it is just a very large Ferris wheel, but of course it is much more than that. First of all, unless you are very close it appears not to be moving. Now, that might sounds boring from a fairground Ferris wheel point of view, of course most or in fact all do not have a view of central London.
What Can You See?
=
Obviously, the eye provides stunning aerial views of London, and particularly Westminster and the Houses of Parliament. Other sights you can see include St Paul's Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, the BT Tower, Battersea Power Station, the Gherkin, BT Tower and much more. You travel in a capsule known as a pod. The pod gives you a panoramic view, although our pod could have done with having its windows cleaned.

I've done the London Eye now, that's good enough for me!
Advantages: views, nice and slow, smooth journey, awesome piece of machinery
Disadvantages: jumping from a (not everso) speeding wheel!
...A couple of months ago I made a small trek to London with a friend, and found myself being led in the direction of the London Eye.
For the entire duration of the journey to London I had been refusing to go on it. I do not like heights, I do not enjoy being scared, I've never even been in an airplane! There was no way on the planet that I was going to go in what seemed to me to be a flimsy bubble dangling on a hula hoop (bearing in mind I hadn't read or seen anything factual about it, my only knowledge came from people unhelpfully saying 'it's great, you must try it!') 135 metres in the air above London! Oh, and I most certainly wasn't going to pay over £15 for the privilege!!
Okay, so I later discovered they're not bubbles, they're 'capsules', and they're not dangling, they're actually very securely mounted. Actually I cannot help but...

London From Above
Advantages: Excellent views of London, well priced
Disadvantages: The lines for queing can be long
...The British Airways London Eye is the tallest structure in London and looks just like a large Ferris Wheel. It is called the British Airways London Eye because British Airways have sponsored this attraction since 1996.
Getting There
The London Eye is situated pretty much in the middle of London on the South Bank of the River Thames. The London Eye is actually about a 3 minute walk from Westminster tube station and Waterloo main station so I would say this attraction is extremely easy to get to whatever your mode of transport.
Getting Tickets
There are several ways in which to get tickets. You can buy them online, and collect them from the ticket office, or you can book them on the day at the ticket office. You can also book through the automated 24 hour booking line. The ticket office is located inside the County Hall and to...

London? Aye
Advantages: Fantastic views
Disadvantages: Possibly overpriced
...(wondering as we did so, which county it was the hall of) and, as there was no queue, we bought our tickets almost immediately.
It's in this building that you'll find the Gift Shop where you can conveniently purchase such essential items as cameras, film and batteries; snacks and soft drinks, and all manner of related souvenirs. (There's also a Costa Coffee outlet inside the building as well as one outside.) This is where you can purchase The London Eye In-flight mini guide which I highly recommend buying. It has panoramic photos/maps from each direction of the capsule and it labels all the main landmarks of London that are visible....which is pretty much them all. It wasn't expensive (£3) and certainly enhanced the experience.
As soon as we had our tickets in our grubby little mitts, we nonchalantly strolled over to the ramp which leads up...

EYE didnt enjoy it
Advantages: views over London though Im sure there are better
Disadvantages: Long queues, costs too much, poor visibility through the glass when its sunny
...I had been previously warned about the queues at this attraction, however when I mentioned this to my travel companions I was greeted with the ?Ive been before and people like to exaggerate? type response. However we got to the London Eye around midday on a Saturday and I couldn?t see anything for crowds and crowds of people. We had purchased a two attraction ticket earlier that day while at Madame Tussauds to save a little money and, to be honest, would not have bothered with the Eye if this hadn?t been the case. Naively we thought that a ticket was a ticket, but alas we were wrong! On arriving at the London Eye we then had to go to the customer services building next to the Eye which was also overcrowded and queue in there for our ?real? London Eye ticket by exchanging the two attraction ?voucher?. After 20 minutes in this queue we...
