LONDON'S CALLING

Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Views from room

...difficulties in access and room lighting I really enjoyed this stay at The Strand Palace hotel. It was extremely central to our needs, and offered polite helpful, knowledgeable staff. It was very clean throughout and I will have no hesitation in booking here again. I am gradually getting more mobile so I can now manage a few steps: however, if you are mobility impaired and by yourself this hotel might be best avoided. Recommended: Thanks for reading ? Good London hotel in Kensington

Advantages: Excellent location and lovely clean hotel
Disadvantages: Staff could be a bit clearer about hotel details

...yourself to a full english, cereal, croissants and tea/coffee and juices. Check out is by 12pm and again they will keep hold of your suitcases until you are ready to leave. Overall there were a few minor glitches with our stay but the hotel was very nice and i would quite happily stay there again and recommend it to my friends I paid £102 for our room for one night but if you are willing to risk waiting till a couple of days before your trip then you could pick up the same room for £65 which is a great price in the Kensington Area of london...

Review of Executive Rooms By Shaftesbury, London

Stranded in London!

Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey

..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned. Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...

London Zoo - a fun day out for all the family

Advantages: Lots to see, good shows
Disadvantages: Lots of walking

...I have just had a lovely day out at London Zoo today so thought I would write a review on it. We decided to go today as it is my boyfriend's birthday and we both like enjoying events like these. We have never been to this zoo before so thought we would give it a go. I also found that there were vouchers for buy one get one free on the Internet if you buy train tickets. The Zoo is fairly easy to find, although the tube stations are not exactly near. We got the tube to Baker Street as we fancied a walk through Regents Park. It was a nice walk but quite a long one and there are not really any signs for the zoo so we had to use a map we had. I think the nearest station is actually Camden. Once we arrived there was a short queue and we gave the lady our voucher. She didn't even ask for our train tickets but at least we managed to...

LUXURY IN LONDON!

Advantages: Brilliant rooms, service, food, internet etc
Disadvantages: expensive!!!

...see our room. We were not disappointed. The room was utterly huge- even with lots of furniture and bits and pieces. We had booked a twin room; however there are also singles, doubles and family rooms available too. The two single beds were fairly big, and very comfy. There was a bedside table at each side of the beds as well as one in the middle which held a telephone and a lamp. The telephone could be used to call any other room, reception or for room service. As well as the two beds, there was a large wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers, a desk, and a huge 30 or so inch television, a dining table with 4 chairs around it, and a microwave and kettle. As with most hotels we had an en-suite as well. The bathroom was on the small side, however it was fitted with a lovely, clean bath, an overhead shower, a sink and a toilet. The facilities...

The Living Room - London Heddon Street

Advantages: Great venue, great choice!
Disadvantages: please water the christmas tree!

...Having been reccomended The Living Room as a place to eat I booked my work christmas lunch at The Living Room in Piccadilly (Heddon Street). There was a set menu for pre-bookings which was £35 per head for a three course. We did not have to book in advance just pay £5 per head deposit (which is then taken off the bill). We arrived on time and were seated straight away upstairs. We had a table that was plenty big enough for our party of 8 (although one person couldn\'t come at the last minute). The menu looked fantastic is was hard to decide what to choose. In each of the starter and main options there was two meat, a fish and a vegetarian option. Starters: Butternut squash soup, muchroom ravioli and rissotto, pork roulade or smoked salmon. Mains: Traditional Turkey, 7hr braised beef, Seabass or baked goats cheese. Deserts...

Posh and civilized - unlike me!

Advantages: Lovely food, fantastic staff, private party area
Disadvantages: Very very hot at one point

...A friend's recent birthday and wedding anniversary led to her booking a restaurant for an evening of festivities for around thirty people. As a person of high standards, I knew it would be fairly upmarket; and as I don't get to go to 'nice' restaurants very often these days - can't afford them - I was looking forward to the meal. And, for once, I wasn't disappointed. Location: 69-73 St John Street London EC1M 4AN Tel: 02072539000 Email: reservations@theclerkenwell.com Website: http://www.theclerkenwell.com/ St John Street is in The City, so we got the tube to Farringdon and then walked for about ten minutes to reach the restaurant. Returning home, we got taxis, which were readily available at the end of the road, opposite Smithfield Market. First impressions Walking into the restaurant, we were very...

Panic Room

Advantages: Scary - Good
Disadvantages: Some weird acting

...Panic Room Panic Room is the story of a mother and daughter who moved into a huge brand new A three floor house with CCTV in every room, a lift, and a panic room. Wow how amazing. Now, their first night in the house they end up getting broken into by three men who are after a certain something in the house. And the three men thought the house was empty so they broke in - but when they found out there was someone living in the house, 2 of the 3 men set out to kill them, just so they could get what they were after. The noise of the men in the house woke the mother, so she checked out the CCTV to find the men wandering about her house, but when she tries to escape the men chase her up the stairs. She runs for her daughter in the top floor then gets the lift back down, and they end up hiding in the panic room, where they can get...
