...the corridor cupboard doors have a leatherette cladding, the ones on our corridor were very obviously peeling away from the doors and looked tatty. Our room door stuck and had to be slammed shut. The bathroom extractor fan did not work hence the peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. Glazing was poor with lots of street noise able to come into the room. Lumpy pillows. Good bits. The breakfast was wholesome and fresh, the pork and leek sausages were lovely. The resaurant although looked clean felt sterile with no atmosphere. Maid service was good. Nice clean towels. Good location right opposite Kensington Palace and just along form Hyde Park. 15 minutes walk from Harrods and Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge. 2 minutes walk from Kensington High Street and Tube Station....

Good London hotel in Kensington

Advantages: Excellent location and lovely clean hotel

...I booked this hotel for me and my friend when we visited london for her birthday. The hotel is located at the far end of Hogarth Street from Earls Court Tube station (you can walk to the hotel in approx 3-4 minutes from the entrance to the station.) One thing that was not explained when i booked the hotel online was that you actually check in to the sister hotel 'Best Western The Shaftesbury London Kensington' located just around the corner....on the website these are shown as separate hotels so why would i think to check in there! When locating our hotel we were very confused as to why we could not get in and it was only on enquiring at the other hotel we established that this is where we need to check in. When you check in you are given 2 small cards the size of a bank card. I don't stay in hotels that often so i presumed these...

Hilton Kensington

Advantages: Price, Room Quality, Cleanliness, Staff
Disadvantages: Small Room, Location

...'d forgot to take on my 4 day visit!! The down side, well I can't really find one, only thing I could moan about was the location but being in London a tube ride will get you anywhere! The staff were very friendly, even recieved a phone call to make sure everything was ok in my room. The bar and meals were reasonably priced and were ok - not the finest of meals but I prefer to eat outside of the hotel anyway. This hotel is ideal for a short stay with not much luggage. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to couples, business people not a family hotel....

...Thanks for reading my review, I have done a full review of the Premier Inn London Kensington below however if you are simply interested in the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel I've placed a little summary at the bottom of the page. I'll start by saying this for the Premier Inn Kensington, either it does not cash in on big events such as West End Live, or it does not know about them. ...I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). London's most fashionable attraction!

...At least 2-3 times a year I meet up with a very close friend for days out in London, and yesterday we visited Kensington Palace. We were both big Diana fans and were curious to see her last residence. (I am not a Royalist by any means, but I just loved Diana). The nearest tube station is Kensington High Street, and it?s just a short walk to the Palace (approx 10 minutes or less if its freezing cold and you are walking extremely fast like we were!) Approaching the palace was calming, as it?s strange to be surrounded by high street shops and hotels and then you are faced with a big historical house set in gardens. Stranded in London!

Advantages: Excellent central location; good bars and restaurants
Disadvantages: Rooms a bit old fashioned; a little pricey

..." - the inner courtyard of the hotel with the humming air conditioners at the bottom. I can live (or sleep) with that, but there was also an awful rattling, like pipes, coming from somewhere in the ceiling. We went back downstairs to complain, and were told there were no other rooms. After standing our ground they eventually checked us in to an alternative room on the 4th floor. A little bigger, but still not brilliant - probably "average", from past business stays down in London hotels. The reception staff weren't particularly friendly, as other reviews have mentioned. Despite being "club" rooms, all that appeared to be different was the decor. Instead of old-fashioned wall-to-wall flowerey decor and furnishings, it was plain duck-egg walls, and a "modern" bed (faux-leather headboard and plain brown and green blankets). Not worth the extra money...
