...the corridor cupboard doors have a leatherette cladding, the ones on our corridor were very obviously peeling away from the doors and looked tatty. Our room door stuck and had to be slammed shut. The bathroom extractor fan did not work hence the peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. Glazing was poor with lots of street noise able to come into the room. Lumpy pillows. Good bits. The breakfast was wholesome and fresh, the pork and leek sausages were lovely. The resaurant although looked clean felt sterile with no atmosphere. Maid service was good. Nice clean towels. Good location right opposite Kensington Palace and just along form Hyde Park. 15 minutes walk from Harrods and Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge. 2 minutes walk from Kensington High Street and Tube Station....

Good London hotel in Kensington

Advantages: Excellent location and lovely clean hotel

...I booked this hotel for me and my friend when we visited london for her birthday. The hotel is located at the far end of Hogarth Street from Earls Court Tube station (you can walk to the hotel in approx 3-4 minutes from the entrance to the station.) One thing that was not explained when i booked the hotel online was that you actually check in to the sister hotel 'Best Western The Shaftesbury London Kensington' located just around the corner....on the website these are shown as separate hotels so why would i think to check in there! When locating our hotel we were very confused as to why we could not get in and it was only on enquiring at the other hotel we established that this is where we need to check in. When you check in you are given 2 small cards the size of a bank card. I don't stay in hotels that often so i presumed these...

...Thanks for reading my review, I have done a full review of the Premier Inn London Kensington below however if you are simply interested in the advantages and disadvantages of the hotel I've placed a little summary at the bottom of the page. I'll start by saying this for the Premier Inn Kensington, either it does not cash in on big events such as West End Live, or it does not know about them. Either way this became the reason for our stay over West End Live weekend 2008. ...'d forgot to take on my 4 day visit!! The down side, well I can't really find one, only thing I could moan about was the location but being in London a tube ride will get you anywhere! The staff were very friendly, even recieved a phone call to make sure everything was ok in my room. The bar and meals were reasonably priced and were ok - not the finest of meals but I prefer to eat outside of the hotel anyway. This hotel is ideal for a short stay with not much luggage. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel to couples, business people not a family hotel....

Holiday Inn Kensington Forum

...I recently visited London for a couple of days (Monday to Wednesday) and rather than sleeping on a friends sofa decided to try out a website I had seen reviewed on Ciao (priceline.co.uk). After trying the site a couple of times to see the variation in price I booked a 4 star hotel in the Kensington area for £41 (plus taxes etc). When the confirmation came through I was informed that the room I had booked was in the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum (for anyone who has never seen this site before I recommend reading some of the reviews on it, it will save you loads of money.). ...At least 2-3 times a year I meet up with a very close friend for days out in London, and yesterday we visited Kensington Palace. We were both big Diana fans and were curious to see her last residence. (I am not a Royalist by any means, but I just loved Diana). The nearest tube station is Kensington High Street, and it’s just a short walk to the Palace (approx 10 minutes or less if its freezing cold and you are walking extremely fast like we were!) Approaching the palace was calming, as it’s strange to be surrounded by high street shops and hotels and then you are faced with a big historical house set in gardens. A nice hotel in a good location.

Advantages: Nice comfortable hotel in a lovely location.
Disadvantages: Very expensive to eat inside the hotel, don't bother!

...Although I have been to London a few times, my most recent visit would be the first time I would be staying in a hotel there, as I usually stayed with a friend just outside of London. Hotels in London don't come cheap with many hotels starting at around £130 per night, and going upwards from there! We decided to stay in London for 3 nights, which isn't long enough for me but it was proving to be too expensive finding somewhere half decent for 4 nights. Searching throguh Expedia and Lastminute I actually found the Marriott Kensington to be one of the cheapest, but only because they had an offer, stay 2 nights and get 1 free! Cosy Kensington Close Hotel!

Advantages: reasonably priced for london

...My fiancé and i stayed here in January 2006 as part of a theatre break in London. The location of the hotel is nice, just a 2 minute walk from High Street Ken and the gardens, although the initial impression of the hotel isnt great as it looks very 80s american! I think it would have been a very grand entrace at one time but the outside could do with a refurb now. Inside, the hotel is huge, with lots of bars and seating areas with comfy chairs, and some nice prints on the wall. as the place is massive the staff are very well orgnaised and despite queues to check in we were quickly dealt with. Our room was tiny!!!!very clean, etc, but really, really small! im pretty sure the bed wasnt a full size double, and one side was up against the window so we both had to slide in the same side! I know london is famed for small hotel rooms...
