Disadvantages: if you don't know where you're going you could be ripped off

...If you've never been to London before, make sure you know the name of the streets and how to get there as my experience of London cabbies was not the one I've seen on TV where they know everything about everything. We ended up being charged £25.00 for a trip that we found out later should only have cost about £8.00, you look like a tourist and you'll be treated like one. Finding a taxi is very easy however, you'll never have a problem, night or day. There's a taxi rank on most corners in the busy parts (which is everywhere in central London). Overall it's about planning, as with any trip if you plan right then you'll have no problems, London has a huge number of taxis, which provide lots of options of travel, and if you know roughly how much it should cost to get from A to B then you'll be fine. But you may be taken for a ride...

An alternative to the black taxi

Advantages: Cheaper by far.

...This is a very interesting subject that is near to my heart but I am going to give you an alternative opinion from the viewpoint of the alternative option you have to the normal taxi we all know as the black cab, and that is the mini-cab. As far as I know London is the last place in the country to still have mini-cabs as such. So this opinion concerns only London. I speak with some authority as I have recently changed my career but have spent 25 years driving through the streets of London as a mini-cab driver. What is a mini-cab you ask? A mini-cab is generally a privately owned car, (Not all are, some are rented to drivers from the cab companies for which the driver pays a rental for the car hire.) The driver works for a company on a self-employed basis and pays commission or rent to that company for that company to supply him...

Taxi - A once watch film.

Advantages: Very high paced, Some good Humour, Music and A lot of the acting is very good.
Disadvantages: Some "Cheesy" bits and one actor in particular is pretty poor.

Crazzzzzzzzzzzzy Taxi!

Advantages: Great fun, easy to play.
Disadvantages: No real aims or missions to complete.

...I purchased the platinum version of this game as part of a 3 for £20 offer which was at my local Game store. I had played this game before but not for quite a few years and I brought back great memories of nostalgia and playing against my friends to see who was the best taxi driver. The game is just for one player which means that you're going to have to take it in turns if you want to have mini competitions which my fiance and I have been doing quite a lot lately as it's our main means of entertainment when we are out my house (mainly because the xbox 360 is always left in his bedroom as it's his pride and joy!) The aim of the game is to play against the clock to drive passengers to their destination, you earn tips for weaving past cars and for making a speedy drop off. The main thing I disliked about the game was the gameplay...

Taxi - A cheap thrill ride

Advantages: Some good car chase scenes, some fairly funny dialogue,

...I watched this the other day (you've gotta love having time off during summer :)) as it was shown on Film4 and I'd keep your eyes open if you have Freeview, as its worth catching on TV but I wouldn't say its the sort of movie that most people would really think is worth going out of their way to purchase on DVD or anything. This is a remake or American version of a hit French movie, by Luc Besson. Its an action packed comedy, starring Queen Latifah as a sort of girl boy racer called Belle, who has a souped up Taxi Cab that she finally gets her Taxi license to be able to go out and take paying customers for rides in and Jimmy Fallon, who plays a unlucky NY cop, detective Washburn. They end up meeting up when Washburn, apparently for the third time totals a police car and in doing so ruins a bodega, which costs the police department...

LUXURY IN LONDON!

Advantages: Brilliant rooms, service, food, internet etc

I?m a huge fan of west end shows and musicals, and so our trip was booked- we would go and see various different shows. I couldn?t wait to go. We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Advantages: Safest from of travel

...Black Taxis or Hackney Carriages as they are known within the trade, are the safest form of transport around London. When one has the "For Hire" sign lit up, flag it down and wait for it to stop. If it is an older vehicle, check that it has a licence plate from the Metropolitan Police on the back, as the old ones are often sold off, and the lights cannot be removed. If it looks ok, hop in. Feel free to check the identity card of the driver, they won't mind. Tell them your destination and enjoy your trip, feel free to ask the driver to point out places of interest as you go.
