Really is long lasting

Advantages: nice colour, does what the name says!
Disadvantages: bit more pricey!

...For ages I was buying the cheap nail varnish as I didnt see how spending a little extra on the nail varnish could make any difference. But when entering Boots I discovered the usual nail varnish I bought was sold out and so I began to scour the shelves for other colours. The rimmel lasting finish nail varnish caught my eye for two reasons. 1. was the selection of colours they had on offer, there really was every colour available under the sun. 2. It was called long lasting and one of the main problems I have had with nail varnish is that with my old one i used I would have to reapply it everyday as it would cheap away easily. Review of Rimmel- Lasting Finish

Rimmel Lasting Lipstick - Great product, but not so long lasting.

Advantages: Easy to apply, non drying formula, non sticky. Reasonably priced.
Disadvantages: misleading "up to 8 hours" staying power claim

...I like these lipsticks. I'm not sure that they live up to their "long lasting" claim, mine certainly didn't last anywhere near the "locks colour onto lips for up to 8 hours" claim. Having said that though, I do like this product. The packaging is nothing special - but it does its job. The case is a dark burgundy/maroon colour, and the lid is tight fitting so I have had no "accidents" of the lid coming off in my bag. The lipstick is a nice, non-sticky, non-drying formula on my lips, and is very easy to apply. The pointed shape of the lipstick top gives an accurate application to the top lip. I have bought two shades in it so far - Burning Desire (262) and Heather Shimmer (066). The Heather Shimmer is my current favourite lipstick in my collection, it suits my fair skin tone perfectly. Long Lasting Lippy

Advantages: Lasts for up to 12 hours
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive and the balm will run out before the colour

...For my hols in September I decided that I would have a look for some long lasting make up pieces that I could wear around the pool without having to keep re-applying. Having already found 60 day mascara and 24-hour eyeliner my thoughts turned to lippy. As it was for daytime wear I needed something fairly subtle but that would great with a tan. Gorgeous long lasting fragrance.

Advantages: great smell, lasts a long time, great price and value for money
Disadvantages: strange name

Review of The Last Remnant (PC)

Lucious lips!

Advantages: Looks good, SPF, lots of colours

...been shining my lips have stayed burn free. The product claims to last for 8 hours. I can't say whether this is true as in any period of 8 hours (apart from when I'm asleep) I eat and drink! The gloss makes no claims to stay on during eating or drinking (or kissing for that matter - although I have tested this side less!). However, I can say that the gloss stays on a lot longer than any other gloss I've tried. No gloss is going to have as much staying power as a lipstick but I much prefer the look of a gloss so this is ideal for me. CONCLUSION: I really love this gloss. It looks amazing on, lasts for a long time compared to other glosses and the SPF seems to work. The only drawback is the price - although it's not too bad considering you have to apply it less than cheaper glosses. Also, if you can find it on the Internet...

Natural but Sexy

I got an eyeshadow and then had to decide what to get with it so then I thought well why not a lipstick. i asked an assistant over who then told me that there was a 'long lasting' or sheer moisturising which were the two main she seemed to intorduce me to. The Last King of Scotland

Advantages: Great acting, story to be told

...The Last King of Scotland is a story, inspired by real people and events about the life of the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. The film came out in 2006 and was one that I really enjoyed. In my opinion it's well portrayed, beautifully acted, tense and gripping and one you really have to watch. Idi Amin is played by Forest Whitaker and he gives a truly haunting portrail. He's really quite scary in this film at the same time as being really captivating and interesting and it's no coincidence that people fall for his charms. I think he actually bears a little resembalance to the dictator himself and so this definitely made the look and character more believeable. In fact, it's not jsut me who thinks Forest did a great job. He won the Best Actor award at the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild and the BAFTAs for his role...

The Long Goodbye

Advantages: Funny, absorbing
Disadvantages: Bit grim at the end

...reached the end of the book I felt a little sad that these were the last Clark diaries I would read. He writes wonderfully about nature, with descriptions of the Scottish Highlands, Switzerland, beaches in Kent, a simple walk in the woods. There is an account of Clark's participation in a Continental rally during these diaries and while I know little about cars, Clark's writing brought it all to life and made you feel like you were there. Clark's turn of phrase and sense of humour make his diaries a pleasure to read. The end of the book is difficult but strangely uplifting. His wife Jane takes over the diary to record the final days of his life. Clark was diagnosed with a brain tumour but it was far too late to effectively do anything about it.
