Advantages: It has two wheels Disadvantages: It gets muddy, it's not a car
...you are cycling along, looking pretty tired, and two huge double decker buses full of school kids drive past, with all the kids looking out the back window and laughing/mooning/laughing and mooning.
No.1 When you are struggling up a hill and some freaky luminous lycra-clad cyclist with legs to die for speeds past at at least three times the speed you are going at.
On only one occasion have I overtaken another cyclist - and they weren't really a cyclist, they were laying down in this weird contraption with 3 wheels. With a flag attached to it. Powered by their arms. But I overtook them, so ha!
My bike is a Dawes Discovery 201 which I've owned for 6 months, it cost £199 when I bought it in August. I don't think you can buy them from Halfords (may be wrong!), perhaps try an independent bike dealer. According to the waffly Dawes...

Review of Dawes Discovery 201
...Prior to watching The Long Good Friday, I thought people were actually taking the piss when they said Bob Hoskins played a gangster in one of the most respectable British crime films ever made. "Not Bob Hoskins who played the overweight plumber Mario in the Super Mario Bros. movie?" I said. Apparently so. Urgh.
Surprisingly, the once fat, balding, video game protagonist is really quite impressive in his earlier work here. He plays Harold Shand, a notorious London businessman of the criminal underworld, who aspires to go straight in the late-1970s by redeveloping the old docklands property as a venue for the 1988 Olympic Games. He's an aggressive character, but looks after his crew; his speeches about the country's membership of the European Union are fuelled with intelligence and British pride; he is well groomed and has a beautiful...
Advantages: Excellent selection, great sizes, nice staff Disadvantages: Prices
...My profile photo doesn't really show the fact that I'm actually 5 foot 9! Now this does have it's advantages but equally disadvantages. Clothes shopping is and can be a nightmare if I don't go to the right shops. The biggest brand shops are now doing 'tall' sections like New Look, Dorothy Perkins, H&M and many more. They are good but trousers are still a bit of a problem. I would end up having to go the next size up and having the waist inches to big! It was horrible and not great I got recommended a shop in Edinburgh called "Long Tall Sally" which is for women who are tall!
Long Tall Sally
It is a clothing range and shop designed for women over 5 foot 8. It is a fairly old brand, first developed in 1976 for tall models orignially. A year later though there was a gap in the market and now has 22 shops all over the UK. It was...

Advantages: A marvellous recreation of an idealised world, fantastic performances and a huge heart Disadvantages: None
...Manech and Mathilde are childhood sweethearts separated by the First World War. When Mathilde hears that her fiancé is dead, she refuses to believe it and sets out to discover what happened to him. Along the way she learns that her lover was one of five men found guilty of cowardice and sent out to die in the crossfire in no-man?s land. But despite all the accounts she cannot reconcile herself to his death and searches for truth behind the stories.
Visionary French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet has a unique way of looking at the world and has previously impressed with such thematically and literally dark sepia-toned films as ?Delicatessen? and ?The City of Lost Children?. He also introduced the world to the romantic whimsy of ?Amélie?, starring the elfin Audrey Tautou. In ?A Very Long Engagement? he marries dark and light to create...
Advantages: Features some places we rarely hear about Disadvantages: Moaning, over-privileged pseudo-heroes
...When we succumbed to the advertising and bought a set top digital television box, we were rather disappointed (an under-statement) to find out exactly what you get for your (one-off) payment of fifty quid. I can safely say that during the first three months the only thing we made a point of watching was "Long Way Round", which had already been screened on Sky One.
My feelings about the book more or less mirror what I thought about the television series but I bought the book on impulse when I saw it on e-bay without having seen a copy in the shops. Therefore I did not know whether the book accompanied the series (in which case I hoped that it would enhance what I had already seen and add some new details which hadn't been seen on the show) or whether it was merely a verbatim book version of the TV show.
"Long Way Round" is...

Advantages: It is a Drink Disadvantages: You need an expert Barman To Pour It
...Well I noticed the bottle of bitters advertising this product and decided that it needed explaining. As this is not a product it is a drink, and to my knowledge no one has started selling it in bottles. I would disapprove if they did.
A long vodka is possibly one of the finest ways to drink vodka invented next to Zybrowka and Apple Juice. It was also the first drink I learnt to pour behind a bar.
You start with 3 to 4 dashes of bitters in side a long glass and fully coat the inside surface of the glass with them, pouring off any excess. (This is important as the bitters will give you the runs the next day).
Once you have done this, add a good measure of vodka fill the glass up with ice then lemonade or soda water, add a dash of lime cordial. Serve with a slice of lemon and lime in the top and ice. The taste is hard to...

BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The Long Goodbye is a novel first published in 1953 and was based around Chandler's famous detective Philip Marlowe. The book contains many autobiographical elements that relate to the author's own life. It has been ranked as one of Chandler's best works. The Long Goodbye was given the Edgar Award for Best Novel two years later in 1955.
The novel begins outside a club called The Dancers. Marlowe meets Terry Lennox outside the club; he is a drunk and has many scars on his face. The two men become friends over the next few months, though the friendship is an 'uncomfortable' one. However, late one night, Lennox turns up at Marlowe's home asking for a ride to the airport; Marlowe agrees as long as he doesn't know why his friend his running away.
As he returns to Los Angeles soon after, Marlowe is arrested...

... Strange review of the day
My recent highly serious review the Thomann recorder cleaner sparked many amused comments about it being a bizarre thing to write about - in the same spirit here is another:
Long Nose Pliers
I am lucky enough to own a pair of long nose pliers. I am not a fabulous DIY enthusiast but since hubby is more at home at the cooker than the tool box, someone has to have a go and so over the years I have risen to the challenge. I have gradually built up a small collection of very useful tools, of which the long nose pliers are probably the most useful.
What are they?
The long nose pliers are styled on the common pliers found in standard tool collections but have generally longer pincers which narrow at the points. There are a range of handle types, some ergonomically moulded and with soft grip padding...

Review of Long Nose Pliers
Advantages: more good tracks from nickelback Disadvantages: a couple of weaker tracks
...Are you a nickelback fan? I am....I saw them last December at Wembley and they were superb. After listening to 'Silver Side Up' over and over and seeing their fab live performace I have been eagerly awaiting their new album. At last 'The Long Road' has been released.........
FLAT ON THE FLOOR
The opening track on the new nickelback album is very upbeat and fast track. This is what I would call a 'typical' nickelback track. Lots of loud guitar and fast track which Chad Kroegers voice fits perfect too. Like I said before a quick track at only 2 mins 2 seconds long.
DO THIS ANYMORE
I really like this track though it took me a couple of times to listen to it to come around to it. It is one which reminds me of 'too bad' from the previous album.
SOMEDAY
The first single of the album....I abosolutely love this track...
Advantages: Appreciate time together, makes relationship stronger Disadvantages: comfort and hugs, just plain mssing them!
