Salou, Hotel Los Angeles
Advantages: Beach, Scenery, Monday Salou Market, Close to Barcelona, Cheap (there and presents to bring back)
Disadvantages: Some people - don't go if you don't like being pushed out of the way by locals!
...What a wonderful holiday! We searched the Internet for ages for information on our hotel prior to our holiday and found nothing - so here you are for anyone else interested in going!
Hotel Los Angeles is 5 minutes from the beach, less than one minute to the bars (across the road!) and less than one minute to the restaurants and shops. It is very commercialised - you don't feel like you're seeing much of Spain, but the cheap prices for everything including our holiday and beautiful scenary and beaches make up for it.
The hotel itself is a bit more than basic - it has 2 twins and either a single or bunks in the two rooms we had between the four of us (myself, my boyfriend and two friends, all early 20s). A bath and shower and TV (only CNN English speaking). The walls are paper thin. I would not recommend it as a hotel for light...

Take me to Los Angeles..
Advantages: ohhhh hollywood.
Disadvantages: none.
...Air Fun Bus?, ?Los Angeles Evening Tour? and ?Movie Star?s Homes?, just to name a few.
There are lots of companies that do tours and they are not expensive so they are easy to find. You can ask your tour operator or at the hotel for more details.
?Sunset Boulevard? ?
Sunset Boulevard or the ?Sunset Strip? is one of L.A.?s best known streets, it is filled with nightclubs, restaurants and clothes shops. It is best to explore it on foot to discover all of its charms.
*Price & Bookings*
To book a room or for more information on bookings you can visit the website or send them an e-mail, all the contact details are listed below.
Depending on who you book the room through depends on what price you get. If you go straight to the hotel for a booking then you will get the normal price however there are deals to be had...

Fear and Loathing in Los Angeles
Advantages: Didn't stay long enough to find out...
Disadvantages: Intimidating for first time visitors.
...along La Cienega up to West Hollywood, where our Ramada Hotel was waiting for us. One peculiar feature was that all the furniture in the reception was made out of glass, so on your way across to the elevators, you keep whacking your shins on virtually invisible coffee tables.
The jet-lag wasted us. At three in the morning we were wide awake. The time warp logistics of losing hours and gaining hours during air travel were always beyond me, and I couldn't get my head round it. Back home, they were all sipping their second cup of coffee of the morning. By midday the next day, we were ready for bed.
We emerged into a pastel Los Angeles morning. We were the only people out walking on the streets. The only other people who go by foot in LA are other Europeans and the joggers. It's an incredibly vain city - every other shop is a gym...

Los Angeles: Bigger Than Life
Advantages: A World Class City
Disadvantages: Don't try walking, the bus, or light rail
...Los Angeles: Bigger Than Life
Let me state it right off at the start: I love Los Angeles. It is a great city to visit or to live in ? IF you know how to get around, and how to put up with the eccentricities of the place.
Getting Around L.A.
Originally, Los Angeles was a much smaller city. Long Beach, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Santa Fe Springs?.those were all separate towns a long way from L.A. You reached those towns by riding the old red trolley cars. Sometime in the late 1940's the urban planners who are responsible for this awful sprawling mess made a conscious decision: Los Angeles would be a megalopolis connected by a system of freeways?people living in the megalopolis would, of course, be wealthy and every person would own a car. So, during much of the 1950's the streetcar lines were...

A decent but basic 2 star hotel near Bournemouth Pier
Advantages: Good value for money and good location.
Disadvantages: Based on the price, none.
...heating radiators, but also had openable windows which looked out on to the sea.
Good wardrobe space, a dressing table and draw space.
The bed was comfortable enough and the linen and pillows were of a good standard.
The restaurant/bar was reasonable and the staff on reception were polite and helpful. I did not have a car but there was some car parking space outside but I don't know if this would incur an extra charge.
The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Bournemouth pier and a similar distance from Bournemouth town centre. Its abour 2 Km from Bournemouth Railway Station.
Hotel stays in Bournemouth are quite expensive so I'd recommend The Russell Court as one of the better value 2 star hotels to stay at....

Los Fariones Hotel, Lanzarote - FANTASTIC
Advantages: Beachfront location
Disadvantages: None that I could see
...This Is a lovely and the location is simply ideal, it is on a couple of small beaches that I think are very picturesque due to the volcanic rock. One of the thing that I loved about this hotel is that all the rooms have good sea views and balconys. This hotel has been a firm favourite with travellers for quite a few years now and has lost none of its appeal. It has lovely trees and gardens which are extremely well tended. The hotel has two pools, not very big but a lovely one for adults only, sunbeds cannot be reserved, and there were always plenty available.
Our room was very spacious (TIP - you can pay a little extra and get a seating area). Another plus was the wardrobe space which was superb.
The breakfast is served till 10.00 am and the selection is excellent as was the lunch buffet. The evening meal was very good as well, great...

Surrey or Los Angeles?
Advantages: great story, brilliant performance
Disadvantages: none
...is the best moment she can give him her present, it is a special book. The boss has an announcement so they go out to hear him: he announces Jasper?s engagement with one of their colleagues.
Amanda (Cameron Diaz) is a very successful film trailer editor, owner of the company. She lives in a luxurious house in Los Angeles. She realises that her boyfriend cheated on her so she fires him.
The two main characters sit in their home with broken hears. Amanda decides to go on a holiday to make easier forgetting her ex. She founds a home exchange site and writes a message to Iris. They decide to do the change next day. Amanda goes to Surrey and she finds a snow covered beautiful place away from the crowded cities. Iris arrives in the sunshiny L.A. where she founds a full equipped house. Both girls are surprised about their new place.

The Angel of the South
Advantages: Reasonably priced, centrally located, spacious rooms, historical interest
Disadvantages: None
...of The Angel since the 13th century and this is confirmed by the vaulted cellars, which now form The Vaults restaurant area. Records also exist of an inn at the site from 1452. Previous owners of the hotel include William Tassell after whom the main suite was named, and Thomas Bridgeman whose portrait hangs in the Bridgeman Room, a private function room.
****** Is the hotel part of a chain, or has it managed to retain its independence ******
The hotel has been owned by the Gough family since 1973, when it was a 2 star, 50 bedroom hotel. A bathroom en-suite was a limited luxury! The late Richard Gough summed up the duty of owning The Angel, seeing himself as a custodian of an important landmark. The efforts of Dick and Mary Gough were recognised when in 1990 Mary Gough received an MBE for services to the hotel industry. The day to day...

The Star Hotel - An absolute Gem!
Advantages: Food - Staff - Location - Everything
Disadvantages: NOTHING !
...Just back from a wonderful stay at The Star hotel in Kingussie. We stayed for a 5 night break in Sept. and cannot find fault.
We were welcomed by the owner, and shown to our room.
Good size, with large double bed, nice dressing table & warbrobe with plenty of space for all our walking gear. Tea & Coffe making facilities aswell as an iron & hairdryer. You can have the option of having a bath or shower, we chose bath, which was huge!
Ample car parking behind the hotel which also doubles as a little beer garden.
Breakfast & dinner included in price...and to be honest we have never eaten so much in our lives!!! Absolutely amazing especially for the price! A full range of choices for breakfast, fruits, cereals & of course porridge! Orange juice on tap! Once you've devoured that, a full breakfast menu to choose from...from the full...

The Angel Hotel-Glittering Elegance
Advantages: Central location. Beautiful. Lavish. Great food
Disadvantages: Difficult to find any
...In August 1999 my daughter visited Cardiff and had a two night stay in The Angel Hotel, which is opposite Cardiff Castle and close to the city centre and the sparkling new Millennium Stadium. This hotel is steeped in history for its origins go back to 1666,which makes it the oldest and most famous hotel in town. The place has been skilfully modernised but managed to retain its gracious decor and furnishings to make for a very relaxing stay.
The elegant, well equipped,en suite guest rooms have all the modern creature comforts : satellite TV,tea/coffee making facilities, a spacious bathroom, bath robes, bathroom slippers and there was even a bowl of fruit awaiting us.
Thehotel has a marvellous foyer with a glittering Waterford chandelier. The elegant yet informal restaurant served up a super breakfast, there were also fresh fruits, seven choices...
