...This is the debut album from Cardiff based seven piece Los Campesinos! I fell in love with this band last summer after a friend sent me a link to their MySpace account (how did we hear about bands before the internet, hey?). After listening to all the tracks available I was hooked. Any band that could make me feel this happy are definitely a winner. I've been waiting for their album since that moment with baited breath; and now, I'm not at all disappointed. The album opens with current single Death to Los Campesinos! This track is quintessential LC!, twee indie-pop at its finest. This track sets the pace for the rest of the album, and you'll find it very difficult not to dance along; and I suppose it's fair to say that if you don't 'get' this track then you'll find it quite difficult to carry on listening. ...The Simpsons - Classics - Viva Los Simpsons is part of the Simpsons classics series of DVD's. Four episodes are included here: "Homie The Clown", "$pringfield", "Viva Ned Flanders" and "Homer At The Bat". "Homie The Clown" has Homer enrolling at clown college after spotting a billboard for it. After becoming an official Krusty the Clown impersonator, he soon finds himself being recognized AS Krusty and in trouble with the mob. The Simpsons movie references are aplenty here, the best one being Homer banging his head on some glasses and playing the theme from The Godfather while being held captive by the mafia. A very good episode this, has memorable moments like Homer imagining everyone around him are clowns, even if they're his friends being burned to death, and Marge singing a circus anthem. Fear and Loathing in Los Angeles

Advantages: Didn't stay long enough to find out...
Disadvantages: Intimidating for first time visitors.

One peculiar feature was that all the furniture in the reception was made out of glass, so on your way across to the elevators, you keep whacking your shins on virtually invisible coffee tables. The time warp logistics of losing hours and gaining hours during air travel were always beyond me, and I couldn't get my head round it. Salou, Hotel Los Angeles

Advantages: Beach, Scenery, Monday Salou Market, Close to Barcelona, Cheap (there and presents to bring back)
Disadvantages: Some people - don't go if you don't like being pushed out of the way by locals!

...What a wonderful holiday! We searched the Internet for ages for information on our hotel prior to our holiday and found nothing - so here you are for anyone else interested in going! Hotel Los Angeles is 5 minutes from the beach, less than one minute to the bars (across the road!) and less than one minute to the restaurants and shops. It is very commercialised - you don't feel like you're seeing much of Spain, but the cheap prices for everything including our holiday and beautiful scenary and beaches make up for it. The hotel itself is a bit more than basic - it has 2 twins and either a single or bunks in the two rooms we had between the four of us (myself, my boyfriend and two friends, all early 20s). A bath and shower and TV (only CNN English speaking). The walls are paper thin. I would not recommend it as a hotel for light...

The best kept secret in Tenerife

Advantages: Quiet, picturesque and relatively unspoiled. Year round sunshine.
Disadvantages: Very hilly. Parking can be a problem. Maybe too quiet for some. Small beach.

...Tenerife is the largest and the second most popular of the Canary Islands. Sadly, nowadays Tenerife has developed a bit of a reputation for pubs, clubs and chavs. Luckily, the north (Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz de Tenerife) of the island still retains a better reputation, being rather more picturesque and lush. However, the south of the island is a lot more built up, with the most popular southern resorts being Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, both of which are fairly teaming with nightclubs, high rise hotels, neon signage and fast food eateries. To be frank, Playa de la Americas is rather dirty and seedy looking in places - it's really seen better days. Los Cristianos (once a quiet and sleepy fishing village) is a little newer and shinier. ...Here are my top 5 tips on Los Angeles 1) Be prepared for mad driving conditions. Driving on the huge 7-lane freeways is a great experience but takes a bit of getting used to. The main thing is to plan where you are going before you set out - the signs clearly show interconnecting roads and destiantions bu8t you don't want to be fiddling with maps as you drive 2) Don't miss Universal Studios. This is great fun theme park for all ages. Very young kids may prefer Disneyland but for anyone else this has more thrills and more interest. The T3 ride - a 3-D combinations of film and actors is fantastic. 3) Hollywood is good fun. Go on a tour of the stars homes which is full of gossip. You may just see lots of gates and driveways but it gives you a feel for the town 4) Catch a movie. You can't do to the city of Hollywood and not see a movie...
