...This Steve Buschemi's debut as writer and director. Made in 1996 it is a relatively unknown film but was a critcal if not commercial succes for Buschemi The film is about an alcoholic named Tommy (Steve Bushemi), the film starts and he is trying to wangle one more drink out of the barmaid 15 minutes after 'time'. The barmaid Connie(played by Carol Kane - Hester Street, Taxi) is obviously familiar and serves him with Tommy, which is an interesting tenet to the film as everyone knows everyone in this small suburb and everyone knows Tommy and he seems to recoil from it in shame. The bar 'Trees Lounge' is always populated by Tommy, an elderly alcoholic Bobby and another successful alcoholic Mike (Mark Boone Junior - Batman Begins, Lonesome Jim) Tommy starts to form a friendship with Mike thinks he is a looser. Advantages: Lovely rural location, easy to get to, great food and pleasant staff.
Disadvantages: Does not take credit or debit cards and no Stella!

...I found myself in Nottingham at on New Years Eve 2007 and, at the suggestion of a chum who is a big Gordon Ramsay fan, we went to a restaurant that the foul-mouthed chef had worked his magic on in his 'Kitchen Nightmares' TV show - Curry Lounge. I must admit I was a little unsure whether I actually wanted to visit a place that was in enough of a mess that Ramsay had to sort it out, but I assumed that it would probably be fine after he'd finished with it. Besides, it was good enough to win second place in the curry of the year (for Nottingham, I think) beforehand, so it should be pretty good, I thought... ...I was in Superdrug a little while ago and I saw these 'Blackhead Eliminating Daily Cleansing Cushions' and I thought they looked great! I have some blackheads on my nose and chin so I bought these and off I went home eager to try them out. The packaging is quite attractive. The product comes in a cardboard box which has a lid that lifts up and reveals the face pads inside in a clear plastic bag. The box has 'Visibly Clear' written on the top of it with information about the product written along the sides. It has the classic orange Neutrogena colour covering the top half of the top of the box and the rest of the box in a silver/grey colour. You get 22 of these cleansing cushions in the pack. Neutrogena PureGlow Daily Cleansing Cushions

Advantages: Exfoliate and moisturise well, smell lovely
Disadvantages: I prefer to use a slightly harsher exfoliator. but different skin types need different things.

...My mum bought these for me and she had spotted a bargain (and it looks like it was an even better one after reading other reviews on them!) in the Poundshop for the Neutrogena PureGlow cushions. Yes, £1 for 24! The box I have has a purpley strip across the front, telling me that these are for normal to dry skin, but there are different varities, such as oily, or combination skin. The actual cushions themselvesare about 3 inches in diameter and fit perfectly in their round box. On one side, there are hundreds of small white beads, ready to exfoliate your dead skin. On the other, thicker side, there are stripes, designed to moisturise and soften. Using the pads is easy. Just slip your fingers (two or three, depending on how big yours are!) into the pouch, with your fingertip side facing the beads. A quick splash under some warm water...

Thrupenny Bits Breastfeeding cushion

Advantages: looks good, is portable, ties on so no slippage, converts to a bag.
Disadvantages: None

...I bought this cushion on recommendation from a friend and its one of the best things I've bought as a mother! I used to feel really awkward when feeding as I couldn't get my son into the correct position and felt uncomfortable. Once I used the thrupennybits cushion everything changed and now I can feed really easily as the pillow is the perfect width and shape, plus it ties on so my little boy doesn't slip down a gap (unlike with other cushions I've tried). It's really handy to take outdoors to feed, especially in the park when I've completed a feed and then I can use it to snooze on! I would highly recommend this product (I already recommend it to all my friends that are mothers). It has the added bonus of converting to a bag when done breastfeeding....

...Situated at the top of Wensum Street and opposite the Maids Head Hotel, the Spice Lounge is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Prince Of Wales Road and Riverside areas, but close enough to walk for a few drinks post food. The Spice Lounge is the only curry house that I would take someone to on the first date. The whole place ozzes class and style. Unlike other curry houses in Norwich, this is a curry restaurant. Walking down Wensum Street you can't help but notice the neon blue lights screaming 'look at me'. The entrance is spacious, and very modern. As you walk in to the left is a seating area and to the right is the bar. Kuster Highchair with Cushions is absolutelly fantastic!

Advantages: Great comfort, adjustable foot rest, completely removable tray for easy cleaning.
Disadvantages: Slightly heavier than most highchairs but I don't mind this at all

...I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect highchair for my son and I believe I've found it with the Kuster. My main concern was cleaning which is SO easy with this chair - you can completely remove the top white tray giving you piece of mind that there is nowhere for dirt to hide! The adjustable straps and comfy cushion seating are brilliant and ensure that baby doesn't wriggle all over the place. My son love just sitting in the chair and playing with his toys as it's so comfortable for him. It folds away really flat almost like an ironing board and although it's a little heavier than some of the other chairs on the market, I found this more reassuring that it won't go anywhere if baby throws a bit of a wobbler. The adjustable foot rest is also fab so that baby is secure and (again) comfortable. All in all...

Advantages: Great sense of fun and music abilty, lacking ego!
Disadvantages: The Automatic and Fiddy!

...Covers have always been a bit of a hit and miss affair. Some people do it well, some people don't. It can be commercial suicide and ruin artists' credibility. The recent trend over the years, pushed particularly by Radio 1 DJ Jo Whiley, and other ventures such as Warchild, is that an artist can perform live, or record a cover and still retain their credibility and not come over as a sell-out. Maybe it's just that people have lightened up a little, or maybe it is just because there are things like the Live Lounge, that encourage well-picked songs to do as a cover. Granted that the concept is not a new one, and even Jo would not say that. But, I think the idea of the Live Lounge is maybe new. Live Lounge - Simply Brilliant

...I actually downloaded this rather than buy the CD, but then had the wonderful surprise of The Blonde coming home and depositing it in my lap having just been out shopping. She bought it because I had been wittering on about how much I loved Jo Whiley on Radio One and especially the covers that the artists did on the live lounge. It seems to have got through.... I might have to try that tactic when I want a new suit *grin* Anyhow.... The album covers are actually pretty non-descript. The front shows some guitar cases with plenty of stickers, a couple of Mike stands and a bright red label with Radio One live lounge emblazened upon it. It does a job I suppose. The reverse of the CD has the track listings on, and since it is a double CD, there really isn't that much room for anything else. The tracks involved are as follows...
