Monkey Fun!

Advantages: fun book which encourages the use of different textures
Disadvantages: May be too heavy for small children or babies

...Anyone who has read my previous review on That?s Not My Bunny will know just how much my youngest, 22 months, loves the book. When I was on a recent shopping trip I spotted this book which is also in the same collection so I just had to get it for him. The book is called That?s Not My Monkey. It is a chunky board book which has very thick pages and the cover of the book is green with a picture of monkey at the bottom and the title is above this in white lettering. The back cover of the book is also green and has a short paragraph about this book. The book has 5 double pages which are all nice and bright. They all feature a picture of a different monkey which all have a part of them cut out and replaced with a different type of material. The cut outs include, tail, feet, eyebrows, tongue and tummy. ...Well you probably can tell that i am a Lush Shop fan from the amount of Lush products i have reviewed on Ciao. I just can't walk past the shop with out buying something. The product i am reviewing today is The Sonic Death Monkey Shower gel. The name really drew me to this product and when i smelt the tester i just had to buy. Smell Aroma: This product really gives off a strong smell, some people may like and some may not, depending on what they like. Imagine Chocolate Orange, Coffee and Lime smell and that's the smell, i totally love it. Not ideal for those on a diet as you may want to eat the gel instead. When using you might also be good enough to eat, so be-warned. How to Use: This is a simple shower gel and you basically rub over your body while in the shower. What I like I like the fact that this book not only shows that there are different types to one word so babies can see things come in all different shapes and sizes but that it is very simple a concept. The nature of Monkey is IRREPRESIBLE!!!!!

Advantages: Chock full of humour and great ethos

I saw some Monkey Business in the Forest!

Advantages: Fascinating to watch monkeys at close quarters
Disadvantages: Poorly designed facilities, cafe expensive, not a whole day's experience

...day, although it can easily be combined with a visit to the delightful shopping village just a short drive away. You would probably only need to set aside either a morning or afternoon to enjoy the Monkey Forest experience which might make the admission prices seem less good value than otherwise. Despite the claims that the site is 60 acres, visitors are restricted to a pathway which takes you on a circular trail through parts of the forest. This area is certainly much shorter than 60 acres and takes about an hour (possibly less if you spend less time admiring the lovely monkeys) at most to walk around. We've taken a pushchair with us on our last two visits and it is accessible but there are sections of the pathway that are quite steep. There are guides available at certain points on the walkway and they seemed very approachable...

Disadvantages: Only one species, not the cheapest for a family morning out

...particular monkeys, are told what to look out for as we tour (there are some little babies in the park at the moment, since it's the right time of year) and have a fun 'quiz' and then we're free to continue on. The track is about ¾ of a mile, some of which (a shorter lap that cuts off quite soon) is wheelchair / pushchair accessible. The rest is at times hilly and not smooth underfoot, adding a certain challenging dimension to my walk as I'm sporting my MBTs. Even if they weren't rather big and obvious, you wouldn't be able to miss the monkeys as you walk round, since every few seconds you hear parents calling to their children, pointing out monkeys up trees, monkeys lovingly picking dandruff off each other, monkeys carrying babies on their fronts and backs, monkeys scratching their bottoms.
