Former medical director of the Atkins Center, Pescatore incorporates what he believes to be the best of both low-carb and Mediterranean diets. The Hamptons Diet eliminates "unhealthful foods that your body does not metabolize well," Pescatore explains. His diet is high in monounsaturated fats (especially macadamia nut oil), vegetables, fish, lean meats, nuts, whole grains, and low-sugar fruits: "real food"--unprocessed, unrefined, mostly organic. Pescatore tells anecdotes about his rich and famous clients (first names only) who achieved health and weight loss with his program. His writing is peppy and easy to follow, though he falls into self-praise a bit much. He explains his concepts clearly, although you might want to skim some of his 21 pages about the properties of 32 different oils. Easy Peasy Tasty Greek Lamb And Low Fat Too
Advantages: Easy, tasty low(ish) fat roast lamb. Yum
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive. No roast potatoes.
...in an herby crust, and so its flavour was masked. As time went on, however, I learned to appreciate the stronger flavour of lamb, and now prefer it to the much blander beef roast.
Of course, we all know that roast dinners are not necessarily the slimmer's choice. Roast potatoes drown in fat, and the gravy includes the fatty juices at the bottom of the pan. Since I stopped smoking two years ago...

Low fat high taste
Advantages: Lower in fat, still taste good
Disadvantages: None really

This is perhaps the worst thing to live without but you can have some sweets/chocolate.
*Jaffa cakes are just 1 gram of fat each
*Haribo and other jelly sweets (jelly beans, wine gums, midget gems) are low in fat
*Meringue can be eaten whilst on a diet because it is low in fat. Eat meringue nests as a snack or fill with fruit for a proper desert.
*Get the low fat option - e.g. low fat rice...

Low Fat Hot and Spicy Lentil soup
Advantages: Low fat, freezes well
Disadvantages: none
...When it's cold outside and you need warming up - nothing beats hot and spicy lentil soup. The real beauty of this though is it's "freezability" - make loads at once and freeze it in individual portions for a low fat lunch or post workout "pick-me-up"
