...must take this opportunity to say that I do indeed take his lyrics with a large chunk of rock salt and a couple of tequila shots. Firstly, listen to the music. The baselines are so crisp it is as if they have been pulled from the Artic. As much as I like The Streets, Eminem is in a whole different postal code. In fact instead of choosing favourite songs I am in fact going to choose the whole of the Marshall Mathers LP. I am greedy like that. Advantages: pure genius

...Eminem, so called because his real name is Marshall Mathers, (M and M, get it?) is one of the most contraversial rappers of our time. If you can look past the contraversy, the explitives, homophobia, violence and sexism you will see the work of a genius. His second album The Marshall Mathers LP(2000) was the follow up to his debut album The Slim Shady LP(1999). The UK version released recently contains the track "Kids" instead of "Kim". "Kids" is a song spoofing South Park. Eminem plays the part of the school counsellor (I don't know his name) and raps to the kids about how drugs are bad for you. This is a very funny track with a catchy chorus. If you haven't yet got this album, I recommend you purchase the UK version. "Kids" is a very good track and "Kim" isn't one you'll listen to many times. If you really want to see what the uproar is about, download it from the 'net, but when buying the album, the UK version is better.... Read review
