Having Essex LPG convert your Petrol car
Advantages: Cheap motoring, Cheaper VED (Road Tax)
Disadvantages: Time to convert it, lose a bit of luggage space
...I had Alan convert my wife's Xtrail and I was so impressed by the ease of use and the savings to be made that I then chose to convert my own car. That's 2 x £1600 and I consider it money well spent.

Filling station
Advantages: Cheap, friendly, food is tasty
Disadvantages: Limited menu, no toilets
...find, being right on the road, but it doesn't have a large sign so you will need to keep your eyes open. It does not have its own car park, so you may need to make use of the (free!) parking provided in Corvedale Street. For satnav users, the postcode is SY7 9PY.
Verdict
The Station Cafe is a pretty good example of the traditional small town nosher. You shouldn't come here expecting airs...

Living with LPG
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to find
...I would like just to keep moving! On a long trip, you may not find the LPG station at all without local knowledge. Even today, the LPG filling infrastructure is generally poor. If you add the pump reliability problems to the mix, then I would consider carefully whether there is sufficient gas available in your area to make a conversion worthwhile.
