South West Trains - London to Exeter line
Advantages: Clean, efficient, friendly staff
Disadvantages: not enough frequency to some stations
...I use the South West Trains service between Salisbury and Tisbury, and Salisbury, Tisbury and London Waterloo frequently. The old diesel trains have been refurbished, and are very comfortable. They are still quite loud, but quite smooth. They are always immaculate, and punctual, and the staff are great. There is always a buffet trolley, which is well stocked and is reasonably priced. The fares are quite good as well, especially if you've got a railcard and you book in advance. The return fare from Tisbury to Salisbury is much cheaper than the bus. The only problem is frequency of the trains stopping at Tisbury, as they only stop once an hour, which can be frustrating. However, trains running every half hour to London from Salisbury is great, as it means that you never have to wait too long....

VFR Real Scenery Wales & South-West England
Advantages: Value for money and superb scenery
Disadvantages: High specifications required
...VRF RealScenery Volume 3 - Wales & South-West England (PC)
Let's start with the basics:
This is Compatible with Windows XP or Vista. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE FLIGHT SIMULATOR X
System Requirements:
Processor: 2.5GHz
Ram: 1.0 Gb or greater
Hard Drive: 12.0 Gb or greater
Video Card: 126Mb or greater
Other: DVD-ROM drive
VFR stands for "Visual Flight Rules" - this is the way that pilots navigate when they aren't using complex instruments - they look at a map and then pinpoint landmarks on the ground to work out their position. To do this in a flight simulator requires scenery that's exactly the same as the real landscape. VFR Real Scenery is an amazing piece of software that provides just that - fly over England and Wales in Flight Simulator X and sample the view you'd get from a real aircraft. You can see the real countryside from...

South West 9
Advantages: great camera work, and a brilliant sound track to go with it.
Disadvantages: story line slightly confusing.
...If you're a fan of Trainspotting or Human Traffic you will love this film, which combines a great soundtrack (mixed by Dave Pierce) and brilliant visual effects to really bring the film spring to life.
South West Nine takes you through a day of five people living in Brixton. Some of the people Freddy (drug dealer/DJ) Jake (drug Dealer) Mitch (drug Dealer) Kat (drug Dealer) and finally Helen (she's not a drug dealer she just wants to destroy the bank she works for!). some really seedy characters but really believable too!
Mitch: (the heart of the film) from the start is smacked up on a LSD trip that will last for the rest of his life. (The moral don't put your hand in the wrong place)
Helen: the only one that is not smacked up on something. She just wants to destroy the multimillion-pound bank that she works for. An interesting...

Is South West trains improving?
Advantages: Getting better service, quick to London
Disadvantages: Less stops at smaller stations
...timetables smaller stations get far fewer trains, i recently had to travel from Portsmouth to Godalming, a journey which used to be direct and easy. I however, had to change at Haslemere and wait there for 40mins before the next train to Godalming. SO just check times before you travel!
However, despite all these problems, i do no want to seem harsh on South West trains. Until 2 years ago almost all their trains were slam doors and they have invested huge amounts in bringing their fleet up to date. The idiocy still remains of last minute platform changes, short notice cancellations and big delays when the slightest thing goes wrong, but it does provide me with the quickest way of getting to London i can think of from my home in Guildford. The seats are comfortable, the trains are quiet and relatively smooth. The refreshments from the trolley...

The Jewel in the South West
Advantages: Fantastic Hotel with superb facilities and wonderful food.
Disadvantages: Games room needs demolishing or a re-think
...of the Crest Harbour chain of Holiday establishments. It is a 40-bedroom hotel all with en suite facilities. Features in the rooms include colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. It has single, double, twin and even family rooms.
Other features of the hotel are its 80-cover restaurant, while it gardens and views look breath taking both on the web site and in real life too. The hotel has three stars and a very appealing small outdoor heated swimming pool. As well as a games room, a wide screen television room and a nine hole putting green.
How to get there:
Sidmouth is a small, unspoilt but popular seaside town on the South Coast of Britain in the County of Devon. It can easily be accessed from the Midlands and London via the M5. Our trip from London took about four hours and is approx 180 miles, while it is 3 hours away...

More Than Just A Petrol Filling Station?
Advantages: Now Open Every Day 24 Hours
Disadvantages: Mobile Mast On Premises, No Cash Machine
...I never really expected to ever write a review on my local Petrol Station because it is something that has always been there and I suppose it is the sort of place that I have always taken for granted.
However the inspiration behind this review came on Christmas Day morning when driving past here I noticed that it was not only one of the few Filling Stations that was actually open for business as usual in my home City of Sheffield, but that the Supermarket that is attached to this place was also open, fully functional and packed to capacity with people buying last minute items like Milk, Bread and Cigarettes.
This Shell Crest Petrol Filling Station occupies an envious location on the A57, known locally as Handsworth Road about 3 miles to the East of the City Centre. The A57 leaves the A630 here, known as the Sheffield Parkway, so it...

Advantages: Quick, cheap and easy as well as healthy

Wow a review on a petrol station
Advantages: Convenient
Disadvantages: Not as cheap as the nearby Tesco filling station
...I saw this as a review and seeing as I regularly top up at thsi particular station, I thought Id let you all know about it.. although I have to admit Filling Stations dont spark much much interest!
This BP branded garage is situated on the infamous North Circular Road (A406), and can only be accessed when travelling eastbound. It is about 1 mile past the East Finchley turning.
It is easy to see and so you shouldnt past it by mistake. That said, this is one of the few places on the A406 where there isnt too much traffic so you could whizz past it if you are speeding (would serve you right!)
It is clean and large, and has the full range of unleaded, LPG and diesel fules. It can get busy, but I dont usually have to queue for more that 5 mins.
One of the better things about this garage is that it has a 'BP connect shop...

IVE GOT GAS - OF THE LPG VARIETY
Advantages: Cost, Improves range, Energy reliance, green, improving technology
Disadvantages: Small amount of petrol to start
...My LPG conversion was installed a year ago I had being toying with the idea for a while. after hearing my partners uncle had it on a Lexus I took the plunge. 2 grand a small wheel like tank in tool slot at rear of vehicle and it was installed. The LPG can be switched between petrol and LPG and the fact you can have a tank of petrol and a tank of Gas gives your car a longer range. The LPG tank is full for £20 as oppose to £30 for half a tank of petrol - such a big difference but the car needs a small amount of petrol to start so I keep a quarter of a tank of petrol in usually just for that purpose. If you get the LPG system installed correctly the car doesnt suffer much loss in power. I was made aware of rally cars with 200hp engines running on gas and I also drove a converted vauxhall calibre that really flew, overtaking was easy...

The Wilder West
Advantages: Unspoiled wilderness, fascinating sights and sites
Disadvantages: Persistent rainfall, persistent sandflies
...Ross down to Franz Joseph Glacier, a distance of about a hundred miles, one sees only about half-a-dozen hamlets, and the occasional sheep station. Moving south, the hilly pastures increasingly give way to forests, and the peaks loom ever higher up ahead.
Somewhere along this road we enter the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area, which encompasses thousands of square miles of wilderness, stretching all the way down beyond Westland into Fiordland with its dramatic deep-water sounds. They will be covered in a separate review. Long before we reach them, there is still plenty to be seen in Westland, starting with the glaciers.

The Westland National Park, encompassing the Franz Joseph and Fox glaciers, lies in the shadow of Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain...
