IVE GOT GAS - OF THE LPG VARIETY

Advantages: Cost, Improves range, Energy reliance, green, improving technology
Disadvantages: Small amount of petrol to start

...My LPG conversion was installed a year ago I had being toying with the idea for a while. after hearing my partners uncle had it on a Lexus I took the plunge. 2 grand a small wheel like tank in tool slot at rear of vehicle and it was installed. The LPG can be switched between petrol and LPG and the fact you can have a tank of petrol and a tank of Gas gives your car a longer range. The LPG tank is full for £20 as oppose to £30 for half a tank of petrol - such a big difference but the car needs a small amount of petrol to start so I keep a quarter of a tank of petrol in usually just for that purpose. If you get the LPG system installed correctly the car doesnt suffer much loss in power. I was made aware of rally cars with 200hp engines running on gas and I also drove a converted vauxhall calibre that really flew, overtaking was easy...

LPG should you? My experiance as a guide.

Advantages: Cost if done right
Disadvantages: Cost if done wrong

...I have been running on LPG for a little over five years now, and covered a shade under 220,000 miles in two cars. The first car was a Honda Accord 2.2 Coupe that had 65,000 miles on the clock when I had it converted to gas. Used was a cheap and basic OMVL kit. This basically converted an injection engine, into a carburettor engine by inserting little more than an open pipe into the inlet manifold, allowing the engine to suck the gas into the cylinders for combustion. Luckily the engine was powerful enough to start with to compensate for the resulting drop in power. There was a cylinder in the boot behind the back seats which made the boot one foot shorter, but I still retained the full sized spare wheel. The engine was from the ultimately reliable Honda stable so; all the problems that I could/should of have had with such a cheap...

Huddersfield Uni!

Advantages: Relaxed, willing to take almost anyone
Disadvantages: shorter holidays than most unis

...Ive lived in huddersfield all my life, but i didnt plan on coming to the uni, originally i wanted to go away, as far away from home as possible!, but certain circumstances made it so that it was in my best interests to stay at home. Because the uni is so massive and there are so many aspects to it, i cant tell you about every single thing, but i can tell you about my own experience and i hope that its helpful! I study Behavioural Sciences BSc, Im currently in my second year, its a great course and it combines psychology with sociology. My experience of the staff is good experience. Theyre all very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The university offers a wide range of degree subjects and qualifications, prospectuses can be recieved through the post, upon request if you visit www.hud.ac.uk I chose to live...

Pizza Hut (esp Huddersfield Branch)

Advantages: Not Many
Disadvantages: Expensive, Service can be poor, some branches are a mess

...Ive been a customer of Pizza Hut for several years, when I was younger it was an extra special treat if mum took me and my sister to the hut for dinner. I went on my 13th birthday, I went when I went to see Take That in Manchester, believe it or not, its where me and my partner went to celebrate our 1 year anniversary (why am I with him again?) And more recently, I went last night. Well never again! There are two branches in Huddersfield, one in the town centre (the road name escapes me) and one next to the McAlpine stadium, where Huddersfield Town lose all their matches. I visited the town centre branch with three friends, and between us the bill came to just over £41, we had a large pizza with two extra toppings (meat feast with chilli and pineapple), a medium pizza (cheese feast with cajun chicken and spicy pork), 4 pepsi...

Huddersfield uni *UPDATED*

Advantages: Good facilities, wide range of courses
Disadvantages: Big so you can get lost, bad reputation

...I started Huddersfield University in September 2005 so i am now getting to know the uni quite well even though it is huge! The university is positioned on the ring road, adjacent to the town centre. If you were going there by train I'd say it's approximately a ten-minute walk from the station, or by bus about a 5-minute walk. If you want to drive to the University, parking can be a problem. There's is car parks in the town centre, such as the Queensgate multi-storey car park which is near to the Uni. But its 70p an hour so if your there every day, 5 days a week it does become expensive. There is parking facilities on the the 'Queensgate Campus' but these spaces are extremely limited and are not available to students unless they have a disability in which case, arrangements are made. The university runs hundreds of different...

LPG Vehicles,Should you or Shouldn't you

Advantages: Cheaper fuel costs/extended service intervals
Disadvantages: Finding petrol stations that sell LPG

...At the time I was driving an Alfa romeo 145 Cloverleaf,Any one that knows of these vehicles are aware that they can be a little heavy on petrol with the 2.0 16v engine.A friend of mine suggested I look into an LPG conversion,I read a few reviews as I was not sure how a second hand car with 50.000 miles on would react,Decided that the car was worth investing in the price of the conversion. My first dilema was what sort of tank to use,ie a doughnut tank in the spare wheel well or a free standing tank in the boot area,I wanted a fairly decent range on mileage so opted for a tank in the boot as the wheel well was to small to fit the size of tank I required. The conversion was carried out by a local mechanic & other than a few teething problems with the initial set up I knew I had made the right choice. The car ran fine on the conversion...

This is a guide to restaurants in huddersfield

Advantages: range of restaurants, decent prices
Disadvantages: there are only so many to visit

...There are actually a large variety of foods available in Huddersfield yet is often hard to know where to go, in this review I will be giving you my opinion on the selection of restaurants I have recently dined in and hopefully giving you a helpful insight into the social side of Huddersfield town. Along Viaduct street, not far from the train station, is a selection of restaurant, all offering different foods from around the world. Here you will find Cibo and Gringos, both in possesion by the same owner. I have eaten at both and was most impressed with Cibos. This small restaurant offers italian food and houses a modern, hip and simplistic decor that makes you feel comfortable. The use of bare brick along with the warm red tones and blue lights give a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are bearable...

Having Essex LPG convert your Petrol car

Advantages: Cheap motoring, Cheaper VED (Road Tax)
Disadvantages: Time to convert it, lose a bit of luggage space

...considerably sturdier than a petrol tank and there are safety cut off valves that click in when the ignition is off. I'm no expert on this but I have used the kit for two months on two cars and it's been fine. On the road. You start the engine on petrol and once it warms up it switches to gas. That's it. No input from you. There is a small postage stamp sized box on the dash that has LED's on it. One green and one red you're on petrol. Flashing red - it's switching to LPG . Two green - you're on LPG. There are four smaller green LED's that tell you how much gas you have in the tank. In the centre there's white button that you can manually switch to Petrol if you want and back. But it's not necessary to have any input at all- it's all automatic. Switch over is set to engine temperature and Rev's I believe. Cost. My wife's Xtrail was...

Huddersfield for shopping and friendly people

Advantages: Great Library, accessibile shops
Disadvantages: poor market

...Huddersfield is a small town in West Yorkshire. The locals are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. There's plenty of the named stores as well as local ones too!! The Rugby League team "Huddersfield Giants" play at the Mc Alpine Stadium, off Leeds Road. This is one of the most modern stadia in the north of England and is only ten minutes walk from the town centre. I have to say though that the indoor market in the town centre is pretty poor. It is very small for a town this size and is not as good as the one at say Barnsley which is only just down the road. The Library is very informative and impressive though . It's location in the centre across from the market and occupies three floors in a rather grand old building. Definately one of the best libraries in the Yorkshire area I'd say. In summary a town where...
