royal station hotel

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: --

...****Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle**** Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic, nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel. There is loads of places to eat nearby, plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby and would take about 10 minutes to walk too. **Reception/staff** The hotel looks really nice from the outside-a grand looking building.Reception looks really nice with big chandlers hanging from the ceiling and there are two lifts.Staff were nice and i had the option of paying straight away or when i checked out. **Hotel/Room** The room i stayed in was a twin room and it had...

IVE GOT GAS - OF THE LPG VARIETY

Advantages: Cost, Improves range, Energy reliance, green, improving technology
Disadvantages: Small amount of petrol to start

...My LPG conversion was installed a year ago I had being toying with the idea for a while. after hearing my partners uncle had it on a Lexus I took the plunge. 2 grand a small wheel like tank in tool slot at rear of vehicle and it was installed. The LPG can be switched between petrol and LPG and the fact you can have a tank of petrol and a tank of Gas gives your car a longer range. The LPG tank is full for £20 as oppose to £30 for half a tank of petrol - such a big difference but the car needs a small amount of petrol to start so I keep a quarter of a tank of petrol in usually just for that purpose. If you get the LPG system installed correctly the car doesnt suffer much loss in power. I was made aware of rally cars with 200hp engines running on gas and I also drove a converted vauxhall calibre that really flew, overtaking was easy...

LPG should you? My experiance as a guide.

Advantages: Cost if done right
Disadvantages: Cost if done wrong

...I have been running on LPG for a little over five years now, and covered a shade under 220,000 miles in two cars. The first car was a Honda Accord 2.2 Coupe that had 65,000 miles on the clock when I had it converted to gas. Used was a cheap and basic OMVL kit. This basically converted an injection engine, into a carburettor engine by inserting little more than an open pipe into the inlet manifold, allowing the engine to suck the gas into the cylinders for combustion. Luckily the engine was powerful enough to start with to compensate for the resulting drop in power. There was a cylinder in the boot behind the back seats which made the boot one foot shorter, but I still retained the full sized spare wheel. The engine was from the ultimately reliable Honda stable so; all the problems that I could/should of have had with such a cheap...

Choose Newcastle!!!!!!!!

Advantages: Read on and find out.
Disadvantages: It is a long way from the rest of the country.....

...I have now been a postgraduate student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Newcastle for the last two years and within this review I am going to sell you the virtues of coming here (mostly)..... So if you're interested please do read on! ***The University*** >>>>>General Info Newcastle is an old red brick University and consequently it has some of those old beautiful red brick parts that they just don't build anymore (this is where you will find architecture and the buisness school). It has a fabulous reputation and I can vouch for this personally, I think it is just great. Things round here are also changing fast, just in the last couple of years that I have been here they have built a brand new very funky looking Georgraphy department and the Northern Institute for Cancer Resarch. Things are changing fast...

Newcastle

Advantages: The nightlife, the shopping, everything!!
Disadvantages: None!! A weekend prob isnt long enough!

...on a Thursday night, the night "Lovedough" is RnB and gets quite busy, but is a good night out if ur into RnB.. If you must go out on Friday or Saturday night I would recommend the Gat (see above) after a film or a meal, or the Trendy Osborne Road, in Jesmond. This is a really lovely suburb, where there is always a good mix of students and proffessionals, the bars are all really smart, and there are a few reastaurants here too. Bars include the always busy Osbornes, Spy, Bilabong, and Barlise. This would also be a good place to stay if you are visiting Newcaslte, as there are a number of nice hotels on Osborne Road (there are also loads of hotels in the town and on the Quayside). The bars around Newcastle's central station are also good; upmarket and stylish bars include The Centurian, Destination, The Lounge, The Long Bar, and Revolution (a...

Could do better in central Newcastle

Advantages: Location is prime
Disadvantages: facilities, food, better value found elsewhere

...I stayed at this hotel in April 2007 having found it on LateRooms.com and me and my girlfriend paid a total of £89 for one nights stay in a standard double room. We arrived mid afternoon and we glad of the location - the building seems part of the station! The interior was impressive with clean carpets and a grand looking chandalier (probably not real). The check in staff were friendly and helpful. I think the best compliment you can give about your check in is if you don't remember it! So we were checked in quickly and off we went to our rooms. The corridors I have to say did not impress me and at times I could definitely tell that this place was built in the 1800's. By the time we reached the room though it was all ok. Room was standard fare, TV, Phone, Desk & chair, tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. I wasn't overwhelmed by...

Newcastle Castle

Advantages: Quiet, as nobody seems to know it is there. Supports the Society of Antiquaries.
Disadvantages: Lots of steps and uneven ground. No toilets on site.

..., students, pensioners and the unemployed. The castle is open every day, from 9.30am to 5.30pm April to Sept, and 9.30am to 4.30pm October to March. If you take the train or Metro to Central Station, it is less than 10 minutes walk away; just turn left and head down Neville Street, then follow the signs. LPG Vehicles,Should you or Shouldn't you

Advantages: Cheaper fuel costs/extended service intervals
Disadvantages: Finding petrol stations that sell LPG

...& my fuel costs dropped around 35% . It is amazing how many people come up to you in petrol stations asking for information on LPG & what you think of it,A lot of people have heard of it but are very sceptical about having there cars converted. I never found it an issue locating Petrol stations that sold LPG,but even if you were caught short you just filled the car up with a little petrol & carried on your way. The service intervals that were recomended to me were double the manufacturers service intervals & the vehicle never let me down once, I have since sold the vehicle & the new owner is as impressed with it as I was....

Newcastle's hidden clubbing gem

Advantages: Friendly, great atmosphere, intimate
Disadvantages: Small, difficult to get in on a weekend

...World Headquarters (or World HQ as it is locally known) is the only club in the city which relies entirely on word of mouth to advertise. Due to this there is a edgy, underground allure to the club. The club often has long queues outside, but people are never crammed in and it is one of the more 'comfotrable' clubs to be in. It is hidden behind the old bus station, with a very reasonable, slightly trendy but very comfy pub opposite for pre-entry drinks. World HQ is effortlessly cool, there is nothing special about the interior to make it have the kind of atmosphere it eludes. There is a quieter area downstairs, with sofas, a bar, a pool table and decent lighting. There is also a cloakroom. Downstairs feels more like a lounge bar than a club, and it's easy to talk to your friends without yelling. The main stairs have an intricate...

Newcastle Attractions

Advantages: Lively, cosmopolitan city surrounded by stunning countryside and coast.
Disadvantages: None really - something for everyone - but wrap up outdoors!

...Newcastle upon Tyne and its surrounding area is a great place to take a short break. This thriving and increasingly cosmopolitan City has major attractions, many centred on the lively and bustling Quayside area which has seen major redevelopment and investment in recent years. Within a short stroll from each other , along the Tyne, you can visit the Baltic Art Gallery, the Sage music hall, and the Milennium Bridge (which lights up in different colours at night and moves to allow ships higher up the Tyne - timetable for movements of the bridge are available at the Information Centre on the Gateshead side of the river). The river itself has hosted the Tall Ships Race in recent years and has been honoured with visits from the QE2 and the Ark Royal. The Tyne Bridge is the crossing point for the Great North Run in September /October...
