Telford, By A Resident
Advantages: Shopping, nice areas, easy to get around, close to other places
Disadvantages: Some bad areas, some bad people, bad nightlife
..., giving a very expansive feel to the place, and it sometimes feels like it goes on forever. It plays host to many big name shops such as HMV, Marks and Spencers, Argos, Next, Debenhams, House of Fraser, as well as a large Asda. There's a host of useful and nice shops, both big names and shops that are slightly more unique, as well as many cafes and quick food outlets, as well as a Wetherspoons pub. There is plenty of parking, although it can still get packed on weekends and around holidays, so do be warned! The centre itself is easy to find, as it is right near the motorway, as well as the main train station. I've obviously used this centre many times. It's quite easy to get to from most parts of Telford, and has enough shops for whatever you may need, or enough shops just enough for a good old wander around. For more information go to...

Telford Shropshire
Advantages: Good place to visit, lots to do
Disadvantages: Have to pay to park for town centre everywhere
...very large iron bridge, it was the worlds first bridge like this. The bridge was built in 1779 by a local ironmaster Abraham Darby
There is lots of easily accessible public transport including a large train station right next to the shopping centre and also a bus station with regular buses to and from various places.
I would definitely recommend a trip to Telford I spent a while living there and loved it....

Telford worth a visit
Advantages: Easy to get to
Disadvantages: Finding stuff other than the Iron Bridge
...Telford, in Shropshire, is well worth a visit. It is an area steeped in history. And I am not talking about the faux "Victorian town" constructed at Blists Hill. (Which is really called Blessers Hill, but a cartographer's mistake saddled it with the name Blists Hill.)
Did you know that the Civil War opened for business in Wellington, an ancient market town in Telford?
It's true! "In September 1642, King Charles I raised his standard in the market square of Wellington, a small, though highly influential, market town in the English Midland county of Shropshire and addressed his troops the next day at nearby Orleton Hall. He declared that he would uphold the Protestant Religion, the Laws of England, and the Liberty of Parliament. The "Wellington Declaration" (otherwise known as the Declaration of Wellington) was held to be so...

IVE GOT GAS - OF THE LPG VARIETY
Advantages: Cost, Improves range, Energy reliance, green, improving technology
Disadvantages: Small amount of petrol to start
...My LPG conversion was installed a year ago I had being toying with the idea for a while. after hearing my partners uncle had it on a Lexus I took the plunge. 2 grand a small wheel like tank in tool slot at rear of vehicle and it was installed. The LPG can be switched between petrol and LPG and the fact you can have a tank of petrol and a tank of Gas gives your car a longer range. The LPG tank is full for £20 as oppose to £30 for half a tank of petrol - such a big difference but the car needs a small amount of petrol to start so I keep a quarter of a tank of petrol in usually just for that purpose. If you get the LPG system installed correctly the car doesnt suffer much loss in power. I was made aware of rally cars with 200hp engines running on gas and I also drove a converted vauxhall calibre that really flew, overtaking was easy...

LPG should you? My experiance as a guide.
Advantages: Cost if done right
Disadvantages: Cost if done wrong
...I have been running on LPG for a little over five years now, and covered a shade under 220,000 miles in two cars.
The first car was a Honda Accord 2.2 Coupe that had 65,000 miles on the clock when I had it converted to gas. Used was a cheap and basic OMVL kit. This basically converted an injection engine, into a carburettor engine by inserting little more than an open pipe into the inlet manifold, allowing the engine to suck the gas into the cylinders for combustion. Luckily the engine was powerful enough to start with to compensate for the resulting drop in power. There was a cylinder in the boot behind the back seats which made the boot one foot shorter, but I still retained the full sized spare wheel. The engine was from the ultimately reliable Honda stable so; all the problems that I could/should of have had with such a cheap...

LPG Vehicles,Should you or Shouldn't you
Advantages: Cheaper fuel costs/extended service intervals
Disadvantages: Finding petrol stations that sell LPG
...& my fuel costs dropped around 35% .
It is amazing how many people come up to you in petrol stations asking for information on LPG & what you think of it,A lot of people have heard of it but are very sceptical about having there cars converted.
I never found it an issue locating Petrol stations that sold LPG,but even if you were caught short you just filled the car up with a little petrol & carried on your way.
The service intervals that were recomended to me were double the manufacturers service intervals & the vehicle never let me down once, I have since sold the vehicle & the new owner is as impressed with it as I was....

Telford Love it or hate it
Advantages: has a very nice shopping centre (from a blokes point of view)
Disadvantages: I never will get the hang of that flaming ring road.
...I stopped off at Telford for a night on my way to Bridgnorth Folk Festival ( an exeptional Festival a review of which will follow as and when Ciao has a slot for Folk Festivals). Stayed at the Telford Travel Inn just to use up some old vouchers, the price should have been around £49.95. A promise they make is that should your sleep be disturbed in any way before 7am they will give you a refund and at around 6.30 am I awoke to the sound of a bin/skip lorry as the room I was in was at the back of the hotel.
Although I would have accepted less the duty manager insisted on a full refund.
Shopping, Telford has a very nice new shopping mall with most of the major retail outlets within, when I went the car park had the offer of 20 minutes free, so if you got your ticket back through the exit machine within that time you are ok. Great...

The Station Agent
Advantages: excellent writing, acting, direction...
Disadvantages: none.
...The Station Agent is an extraordinary film for a number of reasons. The first is that it is stunningly simple in story and script and yet intriguingly complex in theme and emotional resonance. The second is that it has a strong social conscience without a hint of condescension. The third is that it is funny, touching, sweet, lyrical and beautifully paced, which is sadly not something we see every day. This tiny crystalline gem of a movie took the critics by storm and as far as I can see, they were entirely within reason to praise it to the skies.
The Film Stuff:
Finbar McBride - PETER DINKLAGE
Olivia Harris - PATRICIA CLARKSON
Joe Oramas - BOBBY CANNAVALE
Cleo - RAVEN GOODWIN
Emily - MICHELLE WILLIAMS
Written and Directed by THOMAS McCARTHY in his directorial debut.

Having Essex LPG convert your Petrol car
Advantages: Cheap motoring, Cheaper VED (Road Tax)
Disadvantages: Time to convert it, lose a bit of luggage space
...considerably sturdier than a petrol tank and there are safety cut off valves that click in when the ignition is off. I'm no expert on this but I have used the kit for two months on two cars and it's been fine.
On the road. You start the engine on petrol and once it warms up it switches to gas. That's it. No input from you. There is a small postage stamp sized box on the dash that has LED's on it. One green and one red you're on petrol. Flashing red - it's switching to LPG . Two green - you're on LPG. There are four smaller green LED's that tell you how much gas you have in the tank. In the centre there's white button that you can manually switch to Petrol if you want and back. But it's not necessary to have any input at all- it's all automatic. Switch over is set to engine temperature and Rev's I believe.
Cost. My wife's Xtrail was...

56p -61p a litre!!!!
Advantages: Cheap fuel, reliable, good for the enviroment
Disadvantages: Takes up some space, only 1200 filling stations
...How would you like to pay 1995 prices again for your fuel? That is between 56p - 61p a litre! Too good to true? A gimmick? Not so, it's even encouraged by the Government.
There is no catch, if you want to pay these prices, consider having your car converted to run on LPG.
What is LPG?
LPG is short for Liquid Petroleum Gas, commonly known as Auto Gas, most petrol driven cars or vans (not diesels) can be converted to run on LPG which almost cuts your fuel costs in half.
Currently, there are around 140.000 cars running around the UK able to run on LPG & 11 million worldwide. With around 1200 filling stations with LPG facilities in the UK you are never far away from being able to fill up.
LPG is a by product of the extraction & refining of crude oil giving no burn off & it is very environmentally friendly. LPG vehicles emit less Co2...
