Cosmopolitian Europe!

Advantages: seen lots in a short space of time
Disadvantages: was expensive

We visited the Sistine Chapel which I have to admit was a lot smaller than I imagined. The paintings by Michelangelo were beautiful and like nothing I had ever seen before. *FLORENCE AREA-LUGANO-LAKE LUCERNE AREA More time on the bus and then a short stop at Lake Lugano where we got to explore the shops by ourselves. Then another bus journey to Lake Lucerne. *LUCERNE Here you had the option to go to Mt Titlus which cost 60 euros per person (see my review of the area) which was expensive but I feel it was worth it. Milan and the Lakes

Advantages: Vibrant, cosmopolitan city and stunningly beautiful lakes
Disadvantages: Pricey, dirty and plagued by annoying gypsies

These people seem to be spending all their time begging for money and harassing virtually anybody who happens to stop to have something at a café or restaurant, particularly those perceived to be tourists. This is a significant public nuisance and can be rather intimidating as the gypsies are often insistent and stubborn. At least the many Africans and Philipinos who inhabit the city prefer to sell small goods of various kinds and do not beg. Be careful! Review of Milan in general

Ferried Around a Lakeside Paradise

Advantages: Spectacular scenery, Italian food, great ferries, not overrun by tourists
Disadvantages: Attractions close smack in the middle of the day, credit cards rarely accepted

...Tremezzo on the western shore. It can easily be reached by ferry or car. In early June around 11am we found ample free parking. Thankfully Italy has not been beset by the British menace of proliferating pay and display car parks. While the villa doesn't shut down for a three hour lunch like other attractions it still insists on taking only cash. It cost around 7 Euros per adult to get in and an extra 3 Euros for a guide booklet that we'd recommend. We didn't buy this and signage is rather hit or miss - the ground floor signage ensures warnings are in all languages but if you actually want to know anything about the room, paintings or statues you'd better know Italian. One of the best staircases (nice small steps!) of the nineteenth century takes you up to the 2nd floor which has a fantastic view over the garden and lake. Lugano Switzerland...

Enchanting Switzerland

Advantages: A haven of scenic beauty
Disadvantages: nothing worth mentioning though language can be problem for english speaking tourists.

So we had to drag it with us all the way up and down the stairs.While coming back to the platform we found out that the place where people were depositing their belongings for a ride in boat was very near to platform. Advice: If you have luggage with you then go down to the left from platform,its hardly 50 meters.The person who takes care for the luggage charges 1 frank per suitcase. A Breathtakingly Beautiful And Expensive Country

Advantages: Excellent scenery, very safe and people are friendly.

It is only 20 km away from the larger and more famous town of Lugano. This larger town is mainly known for the beautiful lake that it sits on. It truly is one the nicest places you'll visit on earth if you decide to go. Summertime in Switzerland creates an abundance of different coloured flowers and trees. It's like a great botanical garden. During winter the snow just decorates the towns and the mountains and is as equally good, if not better.
