Panasonic Lumix TZ6, Versatile compact with great image quality

Advantages: Fantastic little camera with 12 x zoom & 10.1MP (better than TZ5), but cheaper than TZ7
Disadvantages: No HD movie mode, not very cheap

The first thing I noticed about the images taken straight off with this unit was the vibrant colour reproduction that is more common with DSLR`s, the colours were so bright and crisp that I was instantly impressed and could not wait to try the unit in different conditions. The Panasonic FT1 has a 12.1 megapixel sensor and an optical zoom of 4.6x so it is capable of capturing very good and very clear images and because the lens is so good, even when used at full zoom the images were sharp and vibrant. There is the option to set things like aperture, shutter speeds and even white balance and ISO manually but I have to say that the intelligent auto on this unit got the settings pretty much perfect more often than...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 - Next best thing to an SLR?

...The Lumix FZ28 is an upgrade to the Lumix FZ18 and is almost identical on the surface. The LCD screen is now 2.7", compared with the 2.5" screen on the FZ18 and there is an extra switch on the back now to switch between Recording and Playback mode - which used to be handled via the mode-dial - a definite improvement in my opinion. I understand that not everyone will be upgrading from the earlier model so I will keep this comparison to a minimum from this point in. It has a fantastic zoom and unlike some camera's the use of the full zoom doesn't blur when a picture is taken. The camera's applications include a really cool charger . So unlike most camera's there's no buying batteries , you simply remove the battery from the camera and charge which generally takes around 1hr . You also have a choice from a range of colours. I choice the red colour . Like most camera's go can change the picture size upto VGA size. You can change the settings to adapt to all environments. The video camera is the highest quality . So home movies can be enjoyed by all the family....

...Having always been a bit of a cheap and cheerful camera buyer, I was a bit nervous spending nearly double what I'd usually spend on a camera. This camera has proved to be beyond value for money though! The Lumix DMC-TZ5 is a 9.1 megapixel, with a wide angle lens and boasts an awesome 10X optical zoom.
