The Movenpick Hotel, Frankfurt (Oberursel).
Advantages: Quality Medium Size Friendly Hotel some 20 miles from Frankfurt City centre in the vicinity of Oberursel, Hessen.
Disadvantages: Distance from Frankfurt City though S-Bahn and U-Bahn connections are within short distance.

There is a very attractive bar which has an admirable range of very fine and exclusive Scotch Whiskies a number of which are from a range offered by a Specialist Scottish Whisky outlet and the Bar Manager has a considerable knowledge of these spirits. There is a close circuit TV programme available in the bar area describing the origins, history and production of Whisky in Scotland. The bar and its Scotch whiskies is very popular with the German clientelle at the Hotel.
The township of OBERURSEL is close by and offers many facilities for eating out etc and has an old town within the new and is worth visiting. There are lots of walking facilities available at the terminus of the U-Bahn line U3, direction Hohemark.

Warm, friendly and welcoming
Advantages: Excellent facilities/freebies/ fantastic staff and restaurant
Disadvantages: Lacklustre and drab rooms
...for the one day we were in Geneva. This all makes the £80 seem much better value for money, especially when you also consider that your room key gives you unlimited access to the gym/spa next door to the hotel (literally next door). Sadly we didn't get to check this out as we had an early start in the morning but I have been told that it is a modern and well-equipped facility and a nice additional bonus! In addition to the 18 meeting rooms and casino the hotel also has five places to eat/drink including a Japanese restaurant.

watch out for those fire exits
Advantages: great hotel
Disadvantages: out of town - bit pricey
...room for 26CHF including a paper. For meals you can order a selection of dished from the restaurants. There’s also a laundry service.
· Golf – I noticed there’s also a golf service where they arrange for you to be driven to one of the local golf course and they book you in. All for a fee, of course!
Conclusion
Overall I was impressed with this hotel and would definitely recommend it. It’s a bit on the pricey side if you’re forking up for yourself though.

Great Location - bad timing
Advantages: Prime location, excellent access to sites, lovely roof terrace
Disadvantages: bit expensive when you add the 26% tax onto everything, renovations, lack of secure parking
...was out of order happened to be the one that was accessible from the pool, so that was a little disappointing. Again, I am sure during peak season none of these issues would arise as they would all be sorted during the off season.
As you would expect from the Movenpick brand, the little ice cream parlour that is accessible both in the hotel and via a small windown on the outside houses some delightful Swiss ice cream, worth a visit whether you are staying at the hotel or not. The roof terrace bar/restaurant is also worth a visit, either for sundowners, or for a night cap and a shisha. However, even in July, I was feeling quite cold in just shorts and t shirt up on the roof.
All in all, the hotel is ideally situated for the sites you will want to see in Petra, that alone is worth booking into the Movenpick for. We walked for 6 hours non...

Unfriendly and unable to provide a solution
Advantages: Contemporary
Disadvantages: Far from center, very unfriendly staff
...asked to talk to the managing director: he went with us to the room and he recognized that the sofa bed is not suitable to sleep because of its hardness. But the only solution given was either put another mattress of the same thickness (obviously it was not a solution), or to pay 80 euros for upgrading to a junior suite. Finally we had to be reallocated in another hotel, of lower category and far from the city center. We consider defrauded by Moevenpick, since this is not the service you expect of a 4-star hotel.
One more thing: we asked for an official complaining form but they rejected to give it, they said that with a blank sheet of paper was enough!!!...
